Designer Twin Villas | 10BR • Pools • Concierge
We planned a group trip to celebrate a birthday in Tulum and Casa Shalva and Aviv did not disappoint! The layout, design, and space was just what our group of 20 friends/family were looking for. Aviv was a 2-3 min walk from shalva (where we spent most of our time at together). It’s also only like a 15-20 minute drive to the strip where all the restaurants and clubs are. Huge shoutout to Edna for being such a great host and party planner. She was very responsive and went above and beyond on all of our travel accommodations. From shuttles to/from the airport, restaurant and beach club reservations, the boat rental, private chefs, cenote tour & and so much more!! 😊 1000% recommend Shalva and Aviv for a big group trip… having Edna help you along the way is just a major plus. The only minor thing was the grill was really small… we decided to cook and enjoy the Airbnb on our last there but took a while to grill the steaks. If you don’t plan on cooking then disregard this 😁

Lux 2BR Apartment Playa del Carmen, great location
We absolutely loved our stay at this property! The condo exceeded our expectations and we felt completely at home during our stay. The kitchen is fully stocked making meal preparation a breeze. Also, the space was meticulously clean and very spacious for our family of five. The highlight of the property is definitely the rooftop pool/lounge area which offers breathtaking views. We loved pool space so much that we spent most of our time there rather than the beach! The location of the building is fantastic. It is very close to Calle 38 and 5th Ave as well as the beach. From the very beginning, dealing with Alonso from Samson Waters has been a delightful experience. He was always diligently responsive and offered helpful tips and recommendations. I wholeheartedly recommend this condo to anyone looking to stay in Playa del Carmen. You won't be disappointed!

Villa Turquesa
Casa Turquesa was beautiful inside and out. It is part of a safe, 24/7 guarded, beachfront community. The service was great as well. Made you feel like you were in a hotel. Fully stocked home with all the amenities including washer/dryer, multiple outdoor showers, 2 pools, spacious rooms and a delicious fruit basket with an assortment of local fruits. Pool clearers and Housekeeping kept the pools and home clean everyday, including making the beds, it was not just a “refresher” like some hotels do. Located next to Quinta Ave and beachfront you get the best of both worlds. Easy access to multiple restaurants, bars, clubs, and shopping. Private beach access, and friendly neighbors. Definitely made our stay in Cancun amazing. Would recommend 10 out of 10
Hacienda Corazon
We returned for a second time to Hacienda Corazon this past week and we were so happy with our experience. Our 2021 trip was delayed due to Covid and we finally made it back. I was a little concerned that things may have changed in the 104 weeks we were away but I can assure you it’s even better. Jorge and Federico are still the attentive butlers ready to help. We were so excited to see them there when we arrived! The margaritas and chilladas they make are still refreshing and wonderful. They are both very thoughtful and happy and friendly. They are always checking in and making sure drinks are filled and guest are satisfied. Gonzalo is the current chef and David the assistant and the food they create is amazing. Gonzalo can make dishes with an Asian influence which is a great option when you are there for a lengthy stay. The tortilla soup is the best! Our kids were so happy with their options too- chicken fingers, pasta, and grilled cheese galore. The town of Puerto Adventuras is alive and thriving. There are new developments and improvements all around. It continues to feel safe and is a accessible and wonderful town to visit (by a short walk or golf cart ride) for ice cream and a little shopping. We can’t wait to get back!

Hacienda Del Mar
Hacienda Del Mar was an amazing place to host our team offsite of 12 people. The house is gorgeous and the staff is awesome. Everyone was very attentive to all our needs and the chefs cooked the best food for us. Laurie, the on-site concierge was also super helpful in organizing all the activities we had planned during our stay. 10/10 would recommend!

All about Playa del Carmen
Planning a vacation in Playa del Carmen
Referred to by locals simply as “Playa”, Playa del Carmen is all about beautiful beaches, buzzy nightlife, and lush landscapes. Situated on the strip of Mexico’s Yucatán peninsula known as the Riviera Maya, overlooking the Caribbean Sea, Playa del Carmen has a reputation as a stylish destination. No wonder, as its compact downtown full of shops, bars, and restaurants make this town the ideal choice for a memorable vacation. Playa’s cobbled main street, Quinta Avenida, or Fifth Avenue, is the epicenter of life in the town both day and night and is a great spot for people-watching.
Playa del Carmen is easily accessible from either Cancun Airport, which is approximately 45 minutes away by car, or from the much smaller Cozumel Airport, which is a 45-minute journey by ferry from the island of Cozumel. Visitors to Playa del Carmen can expect pleasant temperatures all year round, but the town is at its best in late spring, when the beaches are quietest. Hurricane season lasts from June to September, so if you’re planning to travel during this period be sure to check the forecast.
Marvel at the magnificent Chichen Itza
Although Chichen Itza is a two-hour drive inland from Playa del Carmen, it is well worth the trip to see the remains of what was once one of the greatest Mayan cities on the Yucatan peninsula. Archaeologists believe that the rise of Chichen Itza as a major power started around 600 A.D. and continued until the 13th century when the Maya revolted against the rulers of Chichen Itza. Fortunately, the site has been very well preserved and provides an excellent insight into how the Mayan and Toltec people saw the world. The major monuments include the Pyramid of Kukulkan, known as El Castillo, which is a temple dedicated to the feathered serpent god Kukulkan; the Interior Temple, which is home to King Kukulkan’s jaguar throne, and the Great Ballcourt, which is one of the largest, most impressive, and best-preserved courts for playing the Mesoamerican ballgame in the whole of Central America.
Swim in cenotes
Of course, the beach is a major draw for visitors to Playa del Carmen, but there is another option for anyone looking for a special spot to swim, snorkel, or dive. Cenotes – which are natural sinkholes in the limestone bedrock – are found all over the Yucatan peninsula, and while some are very small, others have become very popular with locals and tourists who come to enjoy the clear, bright-blue waters. Just 20 minutes’ drive from Playa del Carmen, you’ll find Cenote Jardin del Eden, one of the prettiest in the region, which is surrounded by lush greenery and huge rocks which are perfect for sunbathing or diving.
Explore bohemian Tulum
Take a trip to Isla Cozumel
Though Cozumel is only 12 miles or so off the coast of Playa del Carmen, and reachable by ferry in just 45 minutes, the island has a distinctly Caribbean feel and a unique energy that make it well worth a visit. The main draw for many visitors to Cozumel is the island’s fantastic beaches and the opportunities for snorkeling and scuba diving. Palancar Beach is a particularly popular spot, thanks to the reef located just offshore, which provides excellent diving conditions for beginner and more experienced divers alike. Cozumel is also home to some smaller – but nonetheless interesting – Mayan ruins, including El Cedral, which was once a fertility temple, and still holds religious significance for locals, and San Gervasio, which is thought to have been the location of the sanctuary of the Mayan goddess Ixchel. The best (and most fun) way to explore Cozumel is to hire a scooter in the main town of San Miguel, but it is also possible to get around by taxi.

If you prefer bold, contemporary architecture, you’ll love our homes with clean, minimalist interiors. For those with more traditional tastes, our selection of villas at the Viceroy Riviera Maya might be just the ticket.
