Family-friendly vacation rentals in South Hams District

Honestly this is a hidden gem and is definitely hijabi friendly... We had our own private space, including hot tub and outdoor heated swimming pool. Keith sourced produce so that it was accessible, he helped us in getting appropriate taxi services.

Apart from the hill to get to the property, everything else was what we wanted as an elderly couple. We did not venture out as property was so comfortable and clean. Apart from a special hot tub, the two main things that stood out for us like living in luxury was the beds and the underfloor heating. We both work hard and had a very relaxing week. Could not fault anything with the property inside or out. Would 100% stay again. We didnt mind places to see being quite a distance away.

What a lovely stay we had, was sad to leave! Great touch with the scones on arrival. Al is very helpful, the hairdryer broke and it was replaced the same day, the folder with all local info and how to use everything is super handy! The place itself you couldn't ask for more, well equipped, clean, comfy beds and beautiful surroundings can hear the stream on the balcony and nice and private! Pub on site we ate in twice and the food was brilliant, went in the pub for live music twice too and everyone was friendly. Pools were clean, just had to book on the website. Great location to reach lots of areas, we loved Looe, Tesco down the road, we had a shop delivered when we arrived. Public transport is every two hours so we didnt use it as much as we wanted to, but we did do the train journey to Plymouth - well worth it - beautiful scenery! Thank you so much for our stay, highly recommend!

Our stay here was great. The Garden Rooms were perfect for our needs. Holls had even put up Xmas decorations for visitors that was a really nice touch. The facilities are really good, well equipped and very cosy. My son and I were walking different routes each day and the Hot Tub was a nice reward for walking over Dartmoor in December ! Holls really made us welcome and it was a pleasure to meet her. 'Thanks Holls' for all the advice and information that really was appreciated. We tried the local Fox Tor cafe and the Prince of Wales pub for food and drinks and both were really nice and welcoming. We were only staying a few days but really could have stayed longer and would highly recommend the garden rooms to anyone looking for a great base to explore Dartmoor and this lovely part of Devon. Thanks Holls from Russ and Ben - we hope to be back again !

We had a lovely stay at Julie's treehouse. The hottub and cosy fire place was a highlight of our girls trip. The beds were so comfortable and the heated blankets were a lovely touch in the cold weather. The only thing we would note for future guests would be the tree house is canvas material and very very cold. It took us a few hours to get warm through the fire place. There is also no cooker inside however a practical BBQ oven outside. There is an electric hob inside though. We would definitely recommend this stay, thank you Julie, we had a great holiday!

Where can I start ,really easy if come across this place on a search book it without a doubt and you will not regret it. Helen was know doubt Super Host as this site states and they honestly are. We arrived to home made scones with cream and jam ,fleshly bake bread and fridge with milk and eggs ,infact that much I must have forgot something. The cottage was beautiful inside with everything you required .The hot tub in the garden was great being so private.All my years of renting holiday cottages across the UK this one for sure is the top of my list.

We stayed at Paul and Sandra’s during the wettest week in November and yet they made us feel like it was mid July! Fires always burning, nothing too much trouble and made to feel so welcome. We were a group of friends meeting up for the weekend and the amenities were perfect! Relaxing sofas for daytime chats, a hot tub, fun games, great food and the karaoke party room was just perfection!

The hideaway was the perfect accommodation for our Cornwall Autumn break. Just a few minute’s drive from both Bude and Widemouth beaches. Their are 4 of us plus our little dog, and their is ample room for us all to chill out. The accommodation had every amenity to make our stay easy: Dishwasher, large cooker, American style fridge/freezer, tumble dryer and washer to name a few. Their was plenty to entertain ourselves, with 4 tv's with access to all the usual streaming services, Internet and board games. We particularly liked the Bananagram game. We opted for the hot tub, which was conveniently located outside the patio door and under cover. Many relaxing hours were spent in there. Hot tub dressing gowns were provided. Claire was an excellent host, providing us with all the information we needed and informing us we could check in early if we wanted to. She responded almost immediately to any questions. I would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

The surroundings were lovely and a large enclosed garden was great for the dog and our 3 children. we had many a happy night in the hot tub. Lots of things for the kids to play with. We drove to all the local beaches would say most things are within an hour's drive and would recommend watermouth castle as a day out if you have kids!

Absolutely stunning! the best Airbnb we have stayed. Truly home from home. The spotlessly clean kitchen has been thoughtfully stocked with items you may need. Beautiful surroundings, and lovely hosts. We will definately be going back.

3 couples ranging from 21 to 50's (+ 2 dogs) stayed In Caroline's property for 3 nights in October. With it's fantastic location and ample parking for 2 vehicles, we just parked our cars and walked everywhere. So close to the beach, pubs, resturants and town. The WOW factor of this property is the huge window offering amazing views of Lyme Regis bay. We all enjoyed (even the dogs) just sitting and watching the boats and waves. My husband and I will definitely return next year with other family members so they too can experience these awesome views. And can highly recommend to anyone wishing to stay in Lyme Regis.

Gorgeous property in a very private and peaceful location. Amy was the perfect host, letting us check in early and always being on hand if we had any questions. Everything was clean and well looked after, fresh bedding and towels ready to go and the house had everything anyone could need to settle straight in. Would love to come back soon.

Absolutely loved staying here. The accommodation is perfect. So clean, comfortable and warm. Ideally located to walk into the town, an abundance of places to eat in or takeout but best of all SO close to the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our early morning dog walks to the sea pool and our adventures exploring the neighbouring beaches as well. Such a stunning coastline. It felt very safe and private in the accommodation but reassuring also that the owner was near to hand if necessary! The shower was warm and powerful and the bed extremely comfortable. I would definitely recommend.

Lovely accommodation, well presented, great decor, comfortable bed, spacious, breakfast provisions provided and great hosts. Lots to do within short drives even the Eden Project was only 1.5 hours away. Great communication from Richard during our stay. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying here.

Sarah was so kind and accommodating. We loved her dog and geese and she left us some delicious fudge too. Really lovely location, and Boscastle is fabulous with great food and great pubs and friendly locals. Lots of places to go for very long walks and the Boscastle farm shop was really worth the visit if you look good food and lots of cake!

This was our third stay at Weighbridge Cottage and it certainly won’t be our last. We love coming here. Tess’s house is beautiful and cosy, with everything we need and in a fantastic location to explore Lyme from. Tess is also a very hospitable host, generously leaving us with a home made batch of scones with cream and jam as well as bacon and eggs. Thank you Tess!

A wonderful stay. I loved how close it was to the coastal path (didn't even want to use my rental car which was a problem). This is a very good value. It was clean, comfortable, really perfect for Bude. Thank you!

We stayed over the Christmas week. It’s always a worry as to whether there will be sharp knives, enough trays while cooking Christmas dinner etc but I need not have worried as there was everything we could possibly have wanted. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and all items were clean, good quality and plentiful. The whole property was very comfortable, warm and spacious. Outside areas were accessed by the grandchildren, they enjoyed a daily swim. The system for booking is excellent. We managed to have a brief game on the tennis court and the children had a little time in the play hut and on the equipment. The zip line was a real hit. It would be lovely to be able to return when the weather would allow more use of the great outdoor facilities. Laura and Richard are great hosts. Brilliant communication prior to arriving. A great in person welcome too on arrival. We hope to return and can highly recommend Mullen at Pitt farm

Fantastic facilities and excellent value for money

We spent 4 nights at the Priesthole, it is an excellent base for walking part of the SWCP. Iona is an excellent host and made us feel very welcome, showing us around the gardens, recommending local pubs and giving tips on safe swimming at Torcross. The place is well equipped and comfortable and extremely quiet at night. Thank you!

Absolutely perfect hosts and accommodation. This was my first stay at an air bnb and it was wonderful. Kate couldn’t be more helpful and accommodating and assisted me with additional things such as taxi numbers. The accommodation is simply stunning and the layout of the home means that even if a large group of you stay you still have your own space. The pool is welcome addition as are the hands outside, even the harder to please teenagers had a great time. We’re now home and looking at other dates we can return to the cottage.
