Family-friendly vacation rentals in Devon

Honestly this is a hidden gem and is definitely hijabi friendly... We had our own private space, including hot tub and outdoor heated swimming pool. Keith sourced produce so that it was accessible, he helped us in getting appropriate taxi services.

Beautiful hidden gem, we’ve stayed multiple times over the past 5 years and will love to visit many more times in the future. This is the perfect place to switch off from hustle and bustle, fully relax and recharge. Can’t recommend enough.

My husband, son and I had a lovely stay in Holl's property. Holls was extremely welcoming and communicative from tbe outset, with lots of great recommendations of activities and places to see. The property was perfectly located for us, within easy walking distance of Dartmoor National Park, where we enjoyed some great walks and rock scrambling around a picturesque quarry (Foggingtor). There are also two nice pubs in the village within a 5 minute walk, both of which we ate at during the stay and had some lovely food with generous portions. The hot tub was wonderful for unwinding in (and warming up) after our adventures on the Moors! The property is also in easy drive of a number of Tors, which our son especially loved climbing, and is also within easy driving distance for the many amenities in Plymouth and Tavistock. We enjoyed visiting The Box Museum in Plymoth which was free and had a great media exhibition. We would recommend Holls, she is a great host. Thank you.

WOW - we have just got back from the beautiful town of Kingsbridge and we had a lovely time. Our family, 2 adults, 2 children and a toddler couldn't have asked for a more picturesque, comfortable Christmas stay. Where do I start, from friendly chickens to beautiful grounds and a large Swedish hot-tub, Beautiful fire, luxury bedding, fully equipped kitchen (and for kids too!) and some fresh goodies on arrival - we made some wonderful memories, thank you! the lovely town is around a 10-15 min walk away, lots of lovely independent shops, butchers and bakeries!

Absolutely stunning place. Everything we needed. Homemade goodies were fantastic, even at very short notice!! Helen was fantastic, very welcoming and friendly. Couldnt do enough! Hot tub was a huge hit! We also enjoyed meeting the chickens and viewing the shepherd's huts. Were be back!! Xx

Thank you Paul, Sandra & Sam for a wonderful stay at Mistletoe Farm to celebrate my Mum’s 60th birthday. Everything was exactly as we hoped and more! The bar, garden kitchen and party room were fantastic areas. We loved the hot tub, karaoke, log burner and twinkly lights! The Somerset evening was brilliant - welly wanging was so much fun and we all really enjoyed the cider tasting and hog roast. Thank you so much for catering for the non-drinkers and veggies in the group! Paul was always available on his phone if we needed assistance, and always made sure we were warm and comfortable. We really enjoyed spending time in the kitchen and living area in the annexe - this is a really cosy spot. The surroundings are beautiful and we enjoyed a walk to Hornsbury Mill nearby. We would also recommend the 5 dials pub which is a 5 minute drive away - really lovely food, good service and a great atmosphere. The guests ages ranged from 2 to 80+ and everyone had a fantastic time! 🥳🎉

Claire is a lovely host, messaged to let us know we could check-in early and also let us know we could check out later if we’d like. Very homely and peaceful stay.

Had a fantastic stay in this quiet and peaceful part of Cornwall. The Shepherd hut had everything we needed, was very relaxing and the hot tub was a great bonus on top. Lucy was always proactive and quick with all communications ensuring we had the best time possible. The local area was a joy to explore even in the somewhat changeable weather. We would love to return in the spring or autumn and do a bit more walking but this trip was very much a rest, relax and recuperate break which exceeded our expectations.

The house was really comfortable, clean and well furnished. The kitchen was really well equipped, had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. The check in was easy, as was the check out. Really happy with our stay there. Recommended.

we stayed here for 4 night early January while working in the area a.d felt very much at home dispite the freezing weather the home was warm. cosy and comfortable so.much so I'm booking again to come with the family

Had a great time at Owl Barn. Much bigger than in the photos and lovely views from almost all windows. Plenty of games for our children. Very comfy beds. Really good-sized kitchen. Super convenient for many locations, even the hospital in Barnstaple which we had to visit twice during our stay! Pizza night was lovely. The outdoor games for the children were just what we were after. Alex was very helpful, including with some things that had nothing to do with her role as a host - very much appreciated.

A private little haven, but close to town to not be a hassle to go to the shops.Dog friendly. Kitchen was well equipped. Will def go back.

The surroundings were lovely and a large enclosed garden was great for the dog and our 3 children. we had many a happy night in the hot tub. Lots of things for the kids to play with. We drove to all the local beaches would say most things are within an hour's drive and would recommend watermouth castle as a day out if you have kids!

Absolutely stunning! the best Airbnb we have stayed. Truly home from home. The spotlessly clean kitchen has been thoughtfully stocked with items you may need. Beautiful surroundings, and lovely hosts. We will definately be going back.

Richard and Mo were great hosts and provided us with all the information required to meet our expectations. Richard met us on arrival and it was lovely to have the basics for breakfast provided for each morning, which was an added surprise and very welcomed. This facility was perfect for my wife as she has mobility issues, and the Airbnb is all on one level with walk-in shower, so made moving around was made so much easier. We would highly recommend staying here, and will look to rebook for our next visit to Devon.

Tess’s apartment was beautiful and fantastically supplied…everything we could possibly have needed we found. We also arrived to a home baked Dorset cream tea, which was a lovely touch and absolutely delicious! The apartment oozed charm and was very homely, plus the location as very central so it was well positioned for accessing Lyme Regis by foot. Last but not least the beds and bedding were of excellent quality and very soft and comfortable. We would definitely return to stay at Tess’s place and would recommend it highly!

Really a lovely and beautifully clean caravan, with towels and bedding and all the cleaning supplies etc so no need to bring too much from home. Stunning location you fall in love with straight away. Quiet in winter but you feel safe.

We stayed over the Christmas week. It’s always a worry as to whether there will be sharp knives, enough trays while cooking Christmas dinner etc but I need not have worried as there was everything we could possibly have wanted. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and all items were clean, good quality and plentiful. The whole property was very comfortable, warm and spacious. Outside areas were accessed by the grandchildren, they enjoyed a daily swim. The system for booking is excellent. We managed to have a brief game on the tennis court and the children had a little time in the play hut and on the equipment. The zip line was a real hit. It would be lovely to be able to return when the weather would allow more use of the great outdoor facilities. Laura and Richard are great hosts. Brilliant communication prior to arriving. A great in person welcome too on arrival. We hope to return and can highly recommend Mullen at Pitt farm

We spent 4 nights at the Priesthole, it is an excellent base for walking part of the SWCP. Iona is an excellent host and made us feel very welcome, showing us around the gardens, recommending local pubs and giving tips on safe swimming at Torcross. The place is well equipped and comfortable and extremely quiet at night. Thank you!

Thank you for an amazing week my grandson wanted to stay longer. Fantastic facilities and amazing grounds. Little extras like games room, board games and dvds and our dog just loved the dog walking field. We will definitely be returning.

Absolutely perfect hosts and accommodation. This was my first stay at an air bnb and it was wonderful. Kate couldn’t be more helpful and accommodating and assisted me with additional things such as taxi numbers. The accommodation is simply stunning and the layout of the home means that even if a large group of you stay you still have your own space. The pool is welcome addition as are the hands outside, even the harder to please teenagers had a great time. We’re now home and looking at other dates we can return to the cottage. Very clean. Gorgeous view over fields and estuary towards Plymouth. Pool and restaurant good. Very confortable. Helpful host and bar staff. Would help to do simple fixes of the broken bin and glasses cupboard. No drive up access so not great if you’re less mobile or parenting younger kids alone but very peaceful if you’re not!

We had an absolutely lovely weekend away. The location is perfect for a country get away. You feel like you have escaped the city, but you still have the convenience of a local town nearby. The cottage was immaculate and very cosy. We loved the pool and games room and Jonathon was a great host. I would definitely recommend.

Badgers House was the perfect venue and location for a large family break. House was well equipped and comfortably furnished. The indoor pool proved a knockout with the children - especially as the weather wasn’t great! The indoor games room was a hit for the male adults, who enjoyed hours of pool, and they hit the gym too. The woodland walk was perfect, we spotted a male deer, the children loved it! Hide and seek in the house was so exciting and kept the little ones entertained for hours! Thank you to Max and Alex for being superb hosts and giving us this beautiful home and setting to enjoy. Our granddaughter broke her heart to have to leave! We will definitely be returning and may need Toad Hall next time for more family members to come along and enjoy the beauty of this peaceful place.
