Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in South Hams District

My boyfriend and I visited with two friends, so we booked the entire barn. Helen was there to meet us when we arrived and offered us a tea and coffee with biscuits. We found the barn to be spotlessly clean. The soft furnishings and interior design were lovely quality and comfortable. The beds are lovely and comfortable. The quality and choice of breakfast was amazing and they catered for a vegetarian and gluten free. Helen was a great host who couldn't do enough for us. The grounds are pretty and peaceful with lovely views of the Countryside. The photos dont do this place justice. We really couldnt rate this place highly enough. Thanks Jen

We had brief but lovely and welcoming stay at Pamela's house. it felt like at home straight away. Village is very peaceful and we had a great night sleep.

Katie was very friendly and the view out of our window over the fields of sheep and cows was lovely. A very rural and secluded location, but within minutes of Ashburton. We will definitely stay at Katie‘s place next time we are in in Devon.

I stayed at Poltimore’s family suite- 5 adults and one child. I would say that the property is maintained by the owners with love and care. The family suite is spacious, with a living room, 3 bedrooms and one and half bathrooms. The view from each room is beautiful. Food in the restaurant is good and collection of wines and beers is amazing! All the staff at the property is lovely, welcoming and make sure that the stay is comfortable. I would definitely come back to stay at Poltimore inn.

Stayed with Nicky and Si for a couple of days in Swimbridge and I think the most tranquil AirBnB I’ve stayed at yet! Breakfasts were continental and lots of choice, and Nicky was great in responding quickly to queries on check in and the room. The room was clean and well put together overlooking a great view of the church.

The house is very close to the main attractions in Plymouth, and the Harbour. At 5 minute walking away there are a lot of very rated restaurants, even though you are looking for a breakfast or fine dining. Definitely we will return here for our next trip in Plymouth.

I had the most amazing stay at the Corner House. Marina and Martyn were so incredibly kind, helpful and attentive. They have put so much thought into every aspect to ensure their guests have an amazing stay. The Green Room is beautiful, peaceful, has the most comfortable bed and stunning views of the garden. The garden is stunning and peaceful. Cake and tea available on arrival was a wonderful touch. I was blown away by how fantastic the breakfast was. The best produce, so much choice, a real feast and Marina is a fantastic cook. I will miss it! If you are thinking of staying, don't hesitate, just book. You will not be disappointed. Thank you both so much. Just wonderful.

It's difficult to 'say a few words' in the space allotted because from the welcome to the assistance with our departure, everything was perfection. I have owned a historic inn, am a participant in the Air B&B in the US and a world traveler and can say with confidence that our stay at The Cider Barn was the best Air B&B experience we've ever had. Louise is the consummate hostess and excels at gracious hospitality. She is a concierge who is not only knowledgeable but makes the experience happen. She generously provided transportation to and from a wedding reception for us as we found the small lane driving at night quite intimidating as Americans. Even finding the 'hidden gem' was a challenge for us but well worth it and we boosted our learning curve as time went on, all too quickly. The property is exquisite; it easily qualifies for submission in Architectural Digest. We are deeply grateful to Louise, our hostess, and any guest is fortunate to stay here.

The most special stay with Libby and Mike. A snug little garden room to stay in, surrounded by beautiful flowers and plants. A full English breakfast, homemade biscuits and a clean, comfortable stay. I turned up expecting a place to crash whilst in the area for work, but had the most relaxing time and would happily come back for a holiday! Highly recommended.

A bright, clean, comfortable en-suite room in a beautiful family home. There was a warm welcome from Ruth, Jo and the dogs. We enjoyed a delicious, generous breakfast and were grateful for the tips on places to visit and eat. Plenty of on street parking close to the house. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Staying at Val and Elaine’s was a wonderful experience!!! Both Val and Elaine are fantastic hosts, kind and thoughtful and they made me feel at home straight away!! Their house is absolutely charming in beautiful surroundings, spotless and inviting. Ensuite was great, with warm shower, a comfortable cosy room and bed. Breakfast every morning was delicious with fresh fruit and lots of options!!! I was doing some family research in the village and both ladies were incredibly helpful with wealth of information. My stay exceeded my expectations!! I feel like I've made two new friends! Such lovely memories!! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay❤️! I cannot recommend highly enough!!!

The Yellow Room was exactly as shown in the photos, a lovely deep room, perfect for a longer stay. The skylight above the bed was great when the room got hot in the warm weather, and the view of the garden was beautiful. Trish was very diligent with her instructions - where to park, what was local etcetera, and her dog was very energetic and friendly. Her continental breakfast in the mornings was nice, fresh fruit and yoghurt with cereals and toast, within the 7-9am timeframe - a good way to start the day. I enjoyed my stay there, and my partner who worked in the Yellow Room said it was perfect for peace and quiet - and with good wifi reception! It was a very pleasant stay, so thank you Trish! (Trish’s hand made ceramics were lovely and available for purchase, too!)

A great place to stay. Hilary was very friendly and welcoming when I arrived, Michael equally friendly when he came in later. Location is good, room is quiet and comfortable. Pub a short walk away along a footpath. Breakfast was provided, good choice (and too much to eat!) and at time of my choosing. Would stay again if I’m in the area.

Very comfortable stay at Beverley's. Very helpful and friendly welcome, room exactly as described. A bonus is free off road parking at the back of her house. The location is 5 minutes easy walk from the town centre, so great for a short break in Totnes. Highly recommended.

A brilliant compact self contained cottage annex with very comfortable bed. Guests are well catered for with generous breakfast provisions provided. Julie provided good clear instructions to find the cottage. It was a useful base to visit relatives who live nearby. Our visit was in November, one can only imagine what a wonderful location this would be during summer months.

Mayfield is in an ideal location and Angela has thought of everything. From the friendly welcome to the immaculate bedroom and showeroom . Lovely breakfast each day - fruit biscuits, juice and milk all in the room on arrival. The comfiest bed. Perfect touches.

I arrived tired after driving through lashing rain. I was made to feel immensely welcome. Everything was very fine indeed and Rachel had put a lot of thought into providing everything needed for a comfortable stay.

A tastefully furnished & beautiful house with a lovely garden, which is very private despite being on a road. It's like a secret & peaceful hideaway once inside. Large bedroom with a very comfortable large double bed on the first floor. One's own private sitting room/ breakfast room downstairs. Karen was most welcoming and relaxed and made us feel at home immediately. The breakfast was delicious. We would definitely recommend staying here.

This a wonderful, quiet, peaceful place to stay with beautiful garden / duck pond, wild life. Amazing sleep and fantastic breakfast included. Rosemarie is very helpful, kind and attentive. 100% recommend this stay.
