Great spot, love it every time that we come and would definitely stay again without a doubt

This is our 2nd time here and we loved it! We really enjoyed the area and surroundings, and found the unit to be very comfortable for us. Its a very easy walk to two train stations, so very easy to get here. Lots of supermarkets nearby and great places to eat. The unit itself is perfect for us as a couple. The kitchen allowed us to prepare food, as we ate in most days. The washer/dryer combo is such a convenience. We can't wait to come back! Mika is a wonderful host and an even nicer person :-)

I stayed with my parents in this flat and loved it. The place was clean and had all what we needed. Natsuko was very kind to be there during the check in and explained everything. Additionally, she documented lots of recommendations and sites to visit nearby. Really recommend to stay here! Arigato Gozaimasu :)

It was a privilege to stay at such an amazing house in a beautiful neighbourhood. Yuki and Emuri were incredible hosts. We feel honoured to have been recipients of their great hospitality.

This house is lovely awesome and perfectly clean. Our stay was wonderful and more worth the price. The private onsen inside the tiny Japanese garden is beautiful. The location is very quiet, near the river and less 5 minutes by walk from the station and konbini. Everything you need is provided inside the house, so you don’t have to worry about

This was by far our favorite place to stay in all of Japan! The traditional style of the home was an amazing experience. I will never get over this airbnb! Not far from the bus and had amazing views of the temple! 😇😇😇

What a beautiful home! Looks exactly like the pictures in the listing. Staying in this traditional Japanese home with a private zen garden enriched our experience in Kyoto more than I can put into words - just incredible. The neighborhood was an unexpected bonus - nestled in the hills next to the grounds of the Golden Pavilion - the tranquility being a welcome relief from the city's busy tourist attractions. The bus connections are numerous making it easy to get around the city. We had no issues even though we don't speak any Japanese. Satoru was so helpful and responsive - we couldn't ask for more. Thank you ❤️

We had a wonderful stay! The location can’t be beat and we felt right at home. We loved being able to use the parking garage and the home was so spacious. Thank you so much!

If I could give the host 6 stars, I would. We were travelling with 3 young children. The host is very responsive and answered our enquiries promptly. Our requests to leave our luggages at the unit before check in time and pick up later after check out time were also fulfilled and those were life-savers. There are Family mart, 7-eleven and many eateries nearby. Within walking distance from Jr station and some bus stations. The place was quite at night and we had peaceful sleep. We will definitely choose this unit again if we were to come to Kyoto again.

A super lovely and convenient place! The only thing to note is that if you're a light sleeper like me, you might find it a bit noisy—even though it's located on a quiet lane. The sounds come from traffic and…. the crows😅

The location in Kanazawa is fantastic, everything is easily walkable and there are many dining and convenience store options nearby.

Overall a great stay at a beautiful historic-style Kyoto house. Close to the train stations, convience stores and some great parks and temples. Easy to take a cab or taxi to downtown Kyoto if you don't want to walk or the weather isn't cooperating. Plenty of room for a family, however keep in mind it is a old house that has been restored and they have taken great pride to keep traditional charm - which means it could be challenging for young kids depending on how well they behave. Thankfully, we had no issues. Kyoko was quick to respond if we had questions and once we found the check in location it was a very nice experience and then short taxi to the residence itself. Only thing I would recommend is putting some kind of blinds on the windows as the sun would rise around 5am and without blinds or curtains some of our family would wake up super early from the light. The bathroom, soaking tub and water pressure are all amazing. We would happily stay again on our next Kyoto visit.

Fantastic place to stay while in Kyoto. The amenities and service were great. The house was perfect for our family of five.

Nice home if you want a traditional Japanese experience.

We simply loved staying in this home. The location is ideal for experiencing Kyoto. Peaceful and quiet and yet five minutes to metro/bus stops. And we also walked to many sites and temples. Ume is a gracious host and the home is a beautiful and historic building. We were very comfortable with two adults and two teenagers. Highly recommended.

Lovely to stay in a neighbourhood rather than a hotel this time. The property was well equipped and had great air conditioning, water pressure and kitchen. Super great location for getting to the station (with a direct train to Nara), and we walked to the baseball dome too. We stayed as three friends and I think this place would be better suited to a family as the bedrooms were connected and the toilet downstairs.

Great location, close to the subway and to Dotonburi. Host was very responsive to all requests and the space was great for our group of 7.

Good Location, house was just as described. Lin was very responsive and sent very clear instructions before check in. Stayed with 4 adults and 2 small kids. Enough space for everyone. It was nice to be in a standalone building, I was less worried about kids disturbing neighbors.

A great place to relax after spending the day in the hustle and bustle of the Tokyo cities. Soaking in the tub at the end of a long day exploring and walking was what we looked forward to at the end of each day. The entire place was thoughtfully chosen with guests in mind. A short walk to a few trains too and close by to convenience stores. Highly recommend to anyone!

We had a pleasant time during our stay, and there was nothing inconvenient. There was an audio room and a theater room, which I was looking forward to, but unfortunately I couldn't use them because I didn't have much time to relax in the room due to the long hours I was out. I was almost always in the kitchen except when I was sleeping, but I had a relaxing time forgetting about time by looking at the courtyard and looking around the room. I was glad that every room was well-lit, fully equipped, and that I could adjust it to my liking and relax.

The location on the Shirakawa is the main selling feature on this. Peaceful and nice to come home to. We sat there many nights on a floor seat near the window watching the canal. They can set up a futon for a third guest in this area, but be warned they have the best view!! :) There are fireflies at night on the canal. There is some car and pedestrian traffic on the opposite side of the canal and people do look in. The unit was clean and there's not a lot of stuff to clutter the space, which is nice. Furnishings are good quality and in good shape. There's a full steam bath on the first floor and a half bath on the second floor where the bed is. There's a full kitchen downstairs and a combo washer/dryer (takes about 4 hours for full cycle) on 1st floor. The unit could use more places to sit and a smaller dining table, but they're minor inconveniences. The location is great and very walkable to the entire historic area. We spotted 16 geishas in our 5 nights in Kyoto!
