The Garth

MarkRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We’ve all returned from a lovely week at the cottage - it was very clean and had everything that we needed; a real home from home. The beds a really comfortable and the bathrooms are amazing! The views are beautiful, great private garden and plenty of parking. The WIFI isn’t great but it’s probably to be expected as it’s a wee bit remote. On the positive, it was nice to have the children off their phones a bit more!

Little Meadow

CraigRating, 5 stars1 month ago
What a great find! My wife, daughter and I stayed at little meadow, and loved it! Very clean, very warm, everything we needed. The hot tub was a nice touch and over looks the meadows, with views of the cows and sheep. Susan was a great host. Great touch with prosecco and chocolates on arrival. Susan was kind enough to let my daughter feed the baby calves only a few days old! Amazing experience...! The two cats Lucky and Clover are very friendly and loved cuddles! Within 10 mins there are supermarkets and only a couple of mins away there is a local shop in Dearham. There are two local pubs, of which we ate at the old Mill the food is great. The location of West House Farm is perfect. So much to see within 45 mins, Buttermere, Windermere, keswick and so on. Buttermere was are favourite. Would highly recommend, Susan was a great host, lovely place, my daughter is already asking can we go back!

Enchanting cottage-and much more!

JackRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Raphaela and Steve were very helpful and pleasant. They encouraged us to let them know when we needed something. The cottage has a great bathroom and well-appointed kitchen and is very comfortable. We enjoyed the farm-like atmosphere—it’s so peaceful yet so close to amenities. And the grazing cows standing in the road to town were easily nudged with minimal mooing. We loved it!

Garden Cottage @ Catlands Foot Farm near Ireby

Absolutely beautiful little cottage. Although we didn’t realise how out in the sticks it is …. We managed to venture out still. Though bear in mind it’s quite tricky in the dark. Stuart’s wife was very helpful and very friendly our children loved the animals.

Honestly had the best Christmas at Melanie’s place. The barn was spotless and spacious (big enough for 2 dogs and 8 people!). The photos really do not do this place justice. I would recommend this place to anybody! Thanks again Melanie ☺️💕

Stunning barn minutes from the Lake District

SheenaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This is the second time we’ve stayed here as it’s so handy for the Michelin started Dog & Gun pub round the corner. House is so nicely done out, and comfortable, plus it’s dog friendly. Nice countryside round about and it’s pretty close to Keswick and the lakes.

Barn conversion holiday let

AmitRating, 5 stars2 months ago
This stay was much nicer than we expected and was basically a little house on its own. It was very clean and tidy with lots of space inside and out for the dog to run around in the grass. It's close to the river and nice walks and easy to get to. We would definitely stay here again but remember to bring consumables like tea/coffee/oil which we incorrectly assumed might be available but that's on us.

Such a beautiful wee cottage in a beautiful place. So cosy, clean and has such a homely feel to it. Lynn and Mark were amazing hosts. So helpful and thoughtful leaving us baked goodies on arrival along with a little basket filled with bread, milk, chocolate and wine this was such a lovely surprise. They were very easy to communicate with and gave us some lovely recommendations for the area. We will definitely be back. We loved it here :-)

Family and dog friendly stunning barn conversion.

NatalieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a wonderful start to Christmas staying at The Byre with our friends and our young children. Fiona was a really proactive host, checking in with us as we arrived and making sure we knew to let her know if we needed anything. Fiona really had thought of everything- considerate extra touches everywhere which made for a perfect relaxing weekend for 2 sets of frazzled new parents! If you’re looking for a well kitted out house in great quiet location with nearby beautiful walks (Caerlaverock Castle and the Galloway Kite Trail/ Loch Ken) then this is a no brainer! Would highly recommend! The Clachan Inn is also a must visit during your stay- though there was really no need to leave this beautiful house at all! The kitchen was filled with everything we needed and we enjoyed our evenings by the Christmas tree in The Byre too!

Mount Farm - The Stable, self-catering with HotTub

LiamRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Beautiful place. Great scenery and animals all around as it’s on a working farm so that was lovely. Marj was lovely and very helpful and friendly as were everyone else we met there. I took my kids with me and they loved every minute. Plenty for them to do if they weren’t in the hot tub. When it’s clear on an evening the star gazing is amazing. The views in general are beautiful from the property. Would definitely stay again.

Room in barn conversion with work space

JaickesRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The host was incredibly friendly, and the place was exactly as described—spotlessly clean. I enjoyed a peaceful night's sleep, allowing me to continue my trip feeling refreshed. When I inquired about the location at a nearby post office/convenience store, the lady was exceptionally helpful; she even stepped outside her shop to guide me. This truly reflects the warm and welcoming nature of the local community. I would definitely recommend this place and would gladly stay here again.

Stable Cottage rural farm barn holiday cottage

PatrykRating, 5 stars16 months ago
Even though it’s a working farm it felt very secluded. Really peaceful and you can really recharge your batteries before another adventure. It’s close to Keswick and if weather is bad SW Scotland is only an hour drive. Our boys loved football pitch and trampoline but jacuzzi style bath felt like little cherry on the top of the cake. Natalie is an amazing host and I’d recommend staying here to everyone.

Romantic Lake District Retreat for 2 near Caldbeck

PhilippaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Swallows rest is an absolute must visit for anyone wanting a peaceful retreat in the Lake District. It was beautiful, well-equipped, spotless and most importantly cosy. Deborah was a great host with quick responses and happy to help with any enquiries. There are some beautiful walks in the surrounding areas, especially in Caldbeck where they also have a lovely pub. We absolutely loved our stay and are looking forward to staying again in the future
