Vacation rentals with breakfast in Dumfries and Galloway

Janice was a perfect host, chatty and knowledgeable about her area, lovely peaceful private home, breakfast was a bonus our space was clean and just what was needed. So much to do in a 40-50 minute radius, we could have spent a week easily instead of 2 night's 😍

This was such a lovely place to stay. Everything about the cottage was just right. Lovely views out of every window. It was wonderful to be able to step out of the front door and straight on to the harbour and beautiful bay. We wanted to stay for longer

Tim and Alexis' place was a perfect entry point to the Lake District. It is closest to Ullswater and Keswick. The guest room is lovely and very comfortable. It has a beautiful view of farmland, sheep, and hills out of the windows! The bathroom was spotless. The whole family is very kind and welcoming (including the cats). I enjoyed having access to the kitchen as well in order to make and eat some sandwiches. Overall a great place to stay and would recommend!

A very special place which I’m missing already - a gorgeous room with superb views across the Solway Firth, very peaceful and close to nature. Lots to do in the area and thanks to Penny and Andrew (Danny) for tips about where to go. I enjoyed walks up Criffel and Mark Hill and hunting for cup and ring marks near Kircudbright. Only thing to improve would be to stay longer.

Alison 's home was spectacular with an oceanfront location down the beach from Culzean Castle. We were warmly welcomed into their home. the accommodations were wonderful and a great breakfast is included. most importantly the hospitality was so gracious and they even provided a wee dram for the evening. so highly recommend a stay here, the location is spectacular!!

Absolutely lovely stay with India & David. I'd highly recommend. During the whole stay they made me feel at home. I couldn't recommend better hosts. Great location for getting into the lake district for some scenic walks and outdoor activities! Efe & Mitzi the cats are wonderful. All round a fantastic stay and wouldn't hesitate to book again! Rosie was a lovely hosts and Lena was a beautiful dog. I had a very comfortable and cosy room with thoughtful breakfast provisions. Rosie and Gerry were very welcoming and friendly but respected my privacy as well. I really appreciated being given the space to work and the support and interest shown in spite of them being so busy. Rosie’s flexibility over my arrival time due to the snow was very helpful. I would thoroughly recommend this as a place to stay. Thank you.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Motherby House and am so grateful to the hosts, Jacquie and David, for making me feel so welcome. They’re both kind and engaging—and they gave me some great recommendations for places to eat and visit in the area. Breakfast was delicious and Jacquie kindly made me a tasty packed lunch for my hike! I’d be very happy to stay here again.

We stayed for one night. Beautiful view from the window seat in our bedroom. Super comfy bed, lovely powerful show and all beautifully decorated. Tracey is friendly and made us feel v welcome. We also enjoyed the breakfast. We will look forward to visiting again.

Thanks for a wonderful and memorable visit to Cockermouth! The space was lovely and I appreciated how responsive and accommodating Amy was during the 5 night stay. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was amazing! Hope to return to Cockermouth again soon!

Lovely family room with comfortable beds and spotless bathroom. Great spot at end or start of Hadrian’s Wall trail. Breakfast great as was the food in the Bistro in the evening. Only minor downside was room was very bright as blinds didn’t block light.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Sarah, our host, was personable, friendly, and accommodating. The setting of the place is idyllic and peaceful. A lovely road leads up into the hills and is good for a scenic walk, Sarah recommended this and we are so glad we did it. We highly recommend staying here and will absolutely consider doing so again if we return to the area. Sarah went above and beyond to help us experience and appreciate the area and what the lowlands of Scotland had to offer. Many thanks to her for her gracious hospitality.

Would highly recommend staying here, I stayed here for my birthday and it was the perfect night away, tranquil, scenic and absolutely worth the money! Tobias is a class host so unbelievably friendly and accommodating!

Great peaceful stay in beautiful location, opposite the marshes... a stunning sunset walk! Delicious breakfasts, Raphaela went out of her way to cater a tasty vegan breakfast. One of my favourite breakfasts in a long time! Thank you for a warm and friendly stay, would highly recommend :)
