We had a lovely stay here, the views from the patio alone were absolutely worth it! The location was also super convenient for visiting both Keswick and Penrith with nothing being more than about 20 minutes away.

Lovely place for a getaway, close enough to both Penrith and Keswick and loads to visit nearby. We really enjoyed our break here and the spa facilities were such a bonus. Highly recommend

A perfect base for the start of our Hadrian’s Wall Cycle adventure. We did a Solway loop to Silloth, then Carlisle and back to Bowness on Solway (around 56miles)

Fantastic few days at Jerry’s place. Spotlessly clean, great facilities- the jacuzzi and sauna were very welcomed after long days exploring the local area. Great communication with Jerry who was extremely helpful. Would definitely recommend and will hopefully be back. Thank you for a superb stay!

Lovely two bedroom apartment. Warm & comfortable. The hosts were extremely helpful and ensured we had everything we needed for our stay. Loved the rural location and setting. Plenty of parking and electric charging point also very useful. Great communication prior to our stay. Highly recommended for a stay in the North Lakes area.

We loved our stay in Papcastle, with Tony and Jane being extremely flexible with check in and check out, which was helpful with 2 toddlers. The house was beautiful, and the garden lovely to sit out in. A short car drive to Cockermouth although it’s easily walkable too (under 20 mins), and we got a quick taxi home one night as well. There’s enough parking and it’s a quiet area. There’s a pub 2 doors down although it has limited outdoor seating and didn’t open until Wednesday, FYI. But this didn’t matter as Cockermouth has lots of pubs and cafes. We especially loved the property’s kitchen, and on my birthday we baked a cake and decorated with my nephews. It really is the perfect space. We appreciated the welcome hamper as well; thank you so much for your kindness.

Excellent hosts, very accommodating and great communicators. The house is beautiful and being there in December, it was very festive and the perfect place to have an early family Christmas. The house has everything you need plus more, beautiful surroundings, very peaceful and tranquil. We will definitely return for another visit. Thank you John and Dan - you guys rock hosting!

What an amazing find. We wanted somewhere private yet close to villages and towns. We also take our two doggos and the back garden is really secure which really helps. The property was spotless and some really thoughtful touches. We saw 100’s of pheasants, red squirrels, red kites and deers while we sat in the garden. Also the night sky was amazing there was zero light pollution so spent one night staring gazing with a toy of the local whisky. 🥃. Spotted the Northern lights also which just added to the magical feel of the cottage. If this is on your shortlist then book. We couldn’t fault in any way.

The cottage was very spacious for 2 people and was perfect for what we needed for our stay. Was very easy to locate and access. Backed on to the river Cocker which was lovely and was in a very quiet location. Very quick and easy to walk into the town. Linda was very quick to respond to messages via the app.

This was a fantastic find. Jenny gave us clear instructions on how to find it and a link to local places to eat before we arrived. On arrival the house was warm and clean. There was a very clear and detailed file on the house, and plenty of information of things to do in the area. Jenny had left a fresh jug of milk in the fridge, tea bags and coffee to get started. As promised Jenny came down shortly after our arrival to check everything was OK, she brought down some lovely fresh eggs and honey. Outside the window there were bird feeders, these had many birds visiting including woodpecker and nuthatch. Pheasants also roamed around the grounds. Although muddy (it was the end of February) the grounds were lovely to walk around with the river at the bottom. The kitchen was well equipped and had plenty of space to prepare food. The heating was under our control, which was lovely, although didn't need much playing with. Overall a very enjoyable stay, just wish it was longer. Thank you.

An absolutely gorgeous house, perfect for a winter extended family retreat. The house is so stylish and well-appointed, we relaxed instantly. A winner with the under 8s and the over 80s alike. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful time at the cottage with my wife’s family. The property was stunning and pristine throughout. The living space in the middle with the huge window looking over the hills was beautiful. Linda was a great host and communication was great too. If serenity and a quiet time in stunning surroundings is what you are after, then this is a place to consider. Hope we can make it back sometime. The place is well equipped for you to make all your own meals too. Fantastic

A fantastic property in a beautiful location. Completely private and super peaceful. The caretakers obviously work incredibly hard to ensure this off grid property is comfortable for guest. We had a wonderful trip with plenty of walks straight from the front door. Location really is second to none! would highly recommend.
