Villa vacation rentals in Dumfries and Galloway

Nicks place was absolutely amazing! I will definitely be going back - hopefully at some point soon! The house was easy to find and so private - perfect for a large group who didn't want to bother any neighbours! It was ridiculously clean and had absolutely everything you could want. Everything was thought about - music systems, hot tub, karaoke, SO MANY FRIDGES! There was fantastic cooking facilities and everything you could need to cook. The coffee machine was very appreciated too. We didn't realise the house was in a dark sky reserve which meant the stars were soooo clear - helped that we had the best weather, day and night! The walks around the area were fantastic, local amenities were great and our overall stay was extremely memorable. Nick was exceptional, he even came over to help me out with the karaoke machine (which ended up being a "you just need to turn it on" scenario - sorry Nick) and nothing was too much trouble. ps. the beds were so so comfy and we all slept great!

The location was just what I wanted and the prime reason for selecting Susan's place. In addition I found a wonderfully warm welcome, a large comfy room with en suite, very filling breakfasts and a cosy pub within easy walking distance. Being invited to share Susan's log fire in the evenings was a great bonus for a November stay. All in all a lovely stay, thank you Susan.

Thank you Susan for a delightful stay in your lovely home. From the moment we arrived you made us very welcome. We appreciated the very spacious and luxurious accommodation. Everything was perfect and the location is beautifully quiet and relaxing with great views. We appreciated being able to walk to the nearest Inn for dinner. We very much hope we will be able to stay with you again.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay. The house is huge—perfect for a few nights of family time with kids. The rooms were incredibly spacious with insane views and we loved that sofa beds were also in the bedrooms, which made it easy for the kids to sleep close to us. The large bathrooms were a real treat, the utility room was super handy, and the kitchen had every utensil we needed to cook and entertain. The only downside for us was the heating. On the first morning, the house was freezing, especially the attic rooms, and I had to text the owner to ask for the heating to be turned on. While the owner was responsive and never objected, it still felt a bit awkward having to reach out every time. For a property of this size and at a rate of over £1300 for three nights, I would have expected to be able to control the heating ourselves. Despite this we would definitely recommend this property and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

A great location for use as a family to all gather for Christmas. Lots of space in the kitchen and games room for socialising and having the all important dinner. Kitchen was well supplied with cutlery and plates and having a decent size dish washer really helped. All the rooms were a great size and came made up with towels. The fire place was a nice touch and we loved having a fire in the evenings. Plenty of fun had.

Beautifully spacious, immaculately clean, and comfortable home. Met the needs of our family attending a wedding. Disappointing that a cot and highchair couldn't be provided although we found some in store room in house! Would have expected more classy toiletries than Radox. Overall we had a great time in Ayr.
