Oak Cottage, Llanthony.

RubiRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Can’t say enough amazing words about this place. It’s such a cozy cabin in a most beautiful place. It wasn’t cold enough to light a fire, but we loved the views, visits from the chickens, an apple from the trees, and did I mention the views. Claire is a lovely host. We can’t wait to return.

Authentic traditional Welsh farm cottage c. 1700

HelenRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Lovely stay in a characterful cottage; beautiful, peaceful location with walks from the doorstep (either through a woodland nature reserve, or along the river). Easy day trips to RSPB Ynys-Hir and the Dyfi Osprey Project, and many other walking areas. Cottage was clean, comfortable; amenities exactly as described with lovely touches such as flowers, and generous provisions for breakfast. Cosy woodburner. Hosts very helpful, friendly and welcoming.

Cottage retreat in isolated Welsh hills - sleeps 4

JessieRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Dear Trish, Ian, and of course Janie <3 we cannot thank you enough for the most beautiful stay in your mini rural retreat. Words really cannot describe how much we enjoyed our time here. We had been planning a trip away for a long time, as a family.. and also a holiday for our beloved doggy blue. Safe to say, he enjoyed his time just as much as we did. We had not seen him so happy in a long time :) Trish's beautiful home comes with everything - it's warm, cosy, with unmeasurable amounts of character.. from the stunning wooden beams - to the thought that has gone into the wonderful soft furnishings. It's also perfect if you have a dog, Blue was made to feel just as welcome as we were. Cannot even begin to put into words the breathtaking panoramic views that surround the property, countryside as far as the eye can see. Incredible view to wake up to. I truly felt this short time away really helped to blow the cobwebs away, a sigh of relief. Really did not want to come home X

The Bothy, a stone built cottage, Bishop's Castle

JasmineRating, 5 stars2 days ago
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Bothy. We arrived in the dark and was greeted by the most stunning sky full of stars, and then woke up to the beautiful view! What a treat. The place had everything we needed and felt really cosy. The bed is so comfortable and the place feels very homely. Some lovely walks on your doorstep and also easy to drive to many must-see locations in the area. Nina was very responsive and friendly! Thank you so much for such a brilliant stay!

Amazing views, Brecon Beacons National Park

SallyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
A really lovely place. Lots of usable space, everything very, very clean. Wonderfully comfortable bed. Underfloor heating was great to come into after a long walk and lots of hot water. A little private , secure garden is available to let dogs out first and last thing. Views to die for, and a great sitting out area, in better weather. Fiona was there to meet and greet and was most welcoming and she was very quick to respond to any query. The property is accessed by some steps which I know is mentioned in the description and there is sizeable step up into the bath/shower that just needs care. The property is easy to find and a short drive from the A40 and right in the middle of fantastic walking country. I would love to come again when visiting Brecon and highly recommend.

Although it’s very close to the main house, it wasn’t an issue for us. Kitchen is equipped perfectly, including great coffee machine and Ninja Air Fryer. Location wise, it was perfect for us, we enjoyed great hikes and views. Thanks a lot

Luxury shepherd’s hut in the Cambrian Mountains

FrancescaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We stayed here for my husbands 30th birthday, Manon was great and nothing was too much trouble. The hut was spotless, as described and beautifully decorated with birthday bunting and balloons and a bottle of Prosecco! The hut was in the perfect place, so peaceful and quiet, a real escape from the busy reality of everyday life. Waking up to the fresh Welsh air, fields and sheep was just what we needed. A perfect birthday stay filled with peace and happiness! We would absolutely love to return in the near future!

Gorgeous self contained annex - views of Pen-y-fan

JadeRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had an absolutely fantastic stay here at the annex. The annex was exactly as described, modern, homely, clean and set in an absolutely beautiful location. It's also the perfect base to explore the local town and walking spots. Parking was available, check in and out was easy, and all the amenities were great. As well as a fantastic space, we have to talk about our wonderful hosts! Liz really went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely stay and we are just so grateful to her for all her extra efforts and kindness - it really did make our weekend! We cannot speak highly enough of our time here and would definitely recommend booking if you're looking for somewhere to stay in the area!

Old Salting Barn: Brecon Beacons Historic Cottage

LiamRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a lovely long weekend getaway to Neil & Jim’s Old Salting Barn in Llandetty. This is such a charming and cosy Airbnb, cannot recommend it enough. It also has a fun games room if you have an afternoon or evening indoors! The Barn is situated in a great location, especially if you want to use it as a base to then do some exploring around the Brecon Beacons. We tried the Tor y Foel, Pen y Fan, and the Four Falls trail. (Although if you have a particularly small or low to the ground car, make sure to drive slowly on the driveway out of the farm as it’s a little uneven in some places — we heard a scrape once or twice as our tyre dipped.) All in all, highly recommend the Old Salting Barn. Neil was so helpful with recommended walks and restaurants for us to try, and helped out with all our other ad hoc queries! Thank you both, we expect we’ll be back again at some point :)

Wern Ddu, Defynnog, scenic Brecon Beacons

VictoriaRating, 5 stars5 days ago
A beautiful cottage, that is presented to a high standard and is very homely. The wood fire and beams throughout the cottage are charming. The view from the back of the cottage are of rolling hills, (autumnal) trees and sheep. We found it very tranquil. The cottage had everything we needed: we dined in a lot and needed to do emergency washing of our clothes (we got very muddy doing a piggy walk!) and the facilities were excellent. The folder of information left was comprehensive and genuinely useful to work out what walks to do. The hosts had very kindly left local edible goodies, which were delicious and much appreciated! The cottage was a 10min driving distance from A Good Day Out’s piggy walks (our main motivation for the trip) and 20-30 min drive to the other activities we did, including red kite feeding station; Brecon mountain railway; the four waterfall walk; and lakes to bird watch. So, for our plans, the cottage was ideally located. A great Autumn break!

Ty Gwilym; a beautiful Brecons barn conversion

SallyRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Just back from a fabulous stay at Ty Gwilym. The barn is so characterful and spacious, with everything that you need. The lounge and bedrooms are particularly comfortable. Jamie is very responsive and provided plenty of information about the area. He is very thoughtful about guest enjoyment. Llangorse Lake is only a short stroll away, as are two lovely pubs. There is also a community run shop that is well stocked. Ty Gwilym is well placed for visiting places like Crickhowell, Brecon and Hay on Wye. We throughly recommend a stay here and we will be back to stay again soon.

Snug Oak Hut with a view on a Welsh Hill Farm

FlorenceRating, 5 stars4 days ago
We had an amazing stay at the shepherds hut, starting with very clear directions to find the place and easy self-checkin. They even left a welcome present of welsh cakes and milk for tea and coffee. The hut was the cosiest space, lovely warm floor heating which heated up the hut so quickly and a log burning stove with logs provided. The surroundings were beautiful, even the walks around the farm itself were breathtaking. We spotted so many birds, lots of red kites! I really appreciated the attention to detail, especially in the sustainable aspects of the stay. And lastly, my favourite part, when you switched off all the lights in the hut and stood on the steps looking up at the night sky when it got dark, we were amazed how clear it was, we even spotted a couple shooting stars. A perfect weekend away. Thank you!

Aberdar Country Cottage and Cinema Cabin

AbigailRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
This is our second time at Aberdar and the second time I haven't wanted to leave. If you like peaceful places with the sounds of nature and wonderful views then this is the cottage for you! The cottage is really well equipped and the ability to get a shop delivered makes it great for easy self catering. There's lots of entertainment provided with loads of books, DVDs, and the games room, to pass away any rainy days. Our two dogs love the big garden and little orchard. It is a great place to get away from it all and relax.

Cwm Farm Cwtch Farm Cottage Brecon Beacons

LauraRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
My partner and I stayed at this beautiful, cosy farm cottage and had the most wonderful holiday! Our hosts were welcoming and friendly, including the workers on the farm who stopped and had a chat with us, they were on hand if we needed anything. The cottage itself was full of character and comfort, it really was a home away from home. We loved the fully functional kitchen, space in the living/dining area, and both bedrooms upstairs were decent sizes. The cottage was very clean and well kept, with plenty of information on what there is to do in and around the local area. We loved being on the farm surrounded by South Wales' nature, being set in the valley gave us stunning views from the cottage and all the friendly farm animals! We will miss being greeted by the chickens, peacocks, dogs and cats. Special mention goes to Pixie the black cat who would often make her way inside to keep us company. Would definitely love to come back one day, thank you!
