Best Airbnb we've ever stayed at! This place was absolutely perfect for our party of eight. The house was impeccably clean and had everything we needed. Great kitchen and tons of towels. Air conditioning upstairs allowed perfect sleeping conditions. Lots of seating and a play area for younger children. The bathrooms are beautiful and having 3 inside was wonderful. Great wifi. Amazing outdoor kitchen and eating area with lots of space. The pool area is perfect with lounge chairs, sun and shade. Two outdoor bathrooms and two outdoor showers were a nice surprise. The sports area was a huge hit with the kids, and we could watch from the pool area. There is a family of monkeys right on the property too! The caretaker was phenomenal and kept the property immaculate. Marvin, Vilma and their family were incredible and we all just adored them! They made great recommendations and shared very helpful information. Vilma prepared us the most delicious breakfast. Will be back!

It is the best place to relax.... after long trips or even long surfing days... quit, peaceful, you are far from the outer World... waking up with the noice of apes and birds with the cock trying to top it... 5.30... Human time, which is okay... Stops at 6.30... you fall in sleep again... wonderful Saskia id an adorable person wo like to hell and support you in all questions you may have... outstanding... felt home within a minute meeting her

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Esmeralda, which is located across from an Indigenous art gallery in the countryside, about a half-hour drive from the busy streets of Monteverde. It is conveniently located about a half-hour drive from the Selvatura Park and Treetopia Park. The house is modern, attractive and nicely furnished. The kitchen is well equipped with quality appliances and cookware. The mattresses and furniture are super comfortable.The house is spotlessly clean. Access to the home is secured via an electric gate. Our host, Miriam, is a charming and gracious lady, who welcomed us warmly and ensured we felt safe and comfortable throughout our stay. Although we don’t speak a word of Spanish, she communicated with us with the assistance of Google Translate. Of the three homes we rented during out Costa Rica vacation (all of which were lovely), Casa Esmeralda was by far the best value.

A true gem! Karen and Bernny are awesome hosts. The place is peaceful and comfortable and clean. Karen was exceedingly kind when I locked myself out 😆. The WiFi worked great. The bed is very comfortable. The chairs on the porch are wonderful. Bernny provided many suggestions for local attractions and how to prioritize to get the most of them. He also leads a fantastic night walk which I recommend to all. Things of note - this is a windy area - things get loud at night - plan for it. The hot water does not have a lot of pressure but gets the job done. This seems to be the norm in CR. 4WD vehicle is not necessary if you follow the instructions from the hosts. higher clearance is nice but also not required when I went. Yes driving is tricky in the area and probably not for everyone. But boy - is it ever worth it! The area is amazing and you will be lucky to book this place.

Great space for a visit to Monteverde. The surroundings are great. The distance to the downtown area is not far, but it is very hilly. So not walkable if you are not able to walk many steep hills. But the drive is easy enough. We enjoyed the wildlife around the house as well. Daniela was a great host and very helpful with recommendations.

Kathrine’s place was exactly what we were looking for, an easy place to lay our heads for the night right by the airport! Even had forgot a few items in the apartment and they were nice enough to hold onto them in there safe for us until we returned for our flight home. Great stay overall and definitely recommend it.

Perfect spot to stop. What a view from the bed in the morning watching sunrise. Toured the La Colina mine spot 500 m south. Superb knowledge and stories about the area and the on going mining in the community. Not to be missed.
