Sand&Surf-Direct Oceanfront-Book Summer Deals Now!

LynnRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Beautiful place to stay! Right on the beach with beautiful views! Perfect size for 2 people. We had plenty of space for 2. My only complaint would be the Internet. It was very spotty, but you aren't at the beach to be on the Internet. This place was wonderful!

This was an incredible stay! Our first time in Saint Augustine and at this Airbnb. It was clean, beyond well stocked, everything you will even think about needing. It was a perfect amount of room for four adults and two kids. Direct access to a beautiful not crowded beach. You can see and hear the ocean right outside your door! I’ve never been more pleased with my stay! Great place for kids too! Thank you for creating such a beautiful place.

Close to the beach and our favorite taco shop. A1A burrito works! We were able to enjoy the evenings on the porch and walk to the coffee shop and ice cream shop right down the road.

Ashley’s Condo was exactly what we needed. Great value! Great location, we felt close to all the things we wanted to see yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Great access to the beach and it was beautiful and peaceful. The pool was just right and not crowded at all. We felt safe and we slept well. I would definitely book this place again.

Our stay was much too short. Loved the home and the pool and location. So much to do. The house was spotless, the pool and spa splendidly relaxing and the kayaks and beach gear made our stay so easy! The sunsets over the canal and a soak in the spa were the perfect way to end our day. Ginny was a wonderful communicator and very responsive. We all agreed we would stay again!

Crescent Beach House

TaraRating, 5 stars2 months ago
This home was perfect for our stay. We were able to walk to the beach, it was a 15 minute drive to St. Augustine, and there were 2 parks South on route A1A that we were able to visit. The house was very comfortable and spacious enough for 4 people. We ate lunches at the table on the side deck. I would recommend taking wash clothes if you use them and chairs for the back yard. We really enjoyed watching the birds at low tide in the canal out back. Overall, a great stay!

Sweet Sandcastle Vacations: A Luxury Beach Getaway

LeannRating, 5 stars1 month ago
PLEASE READ!! I know the repercussions negative ratings can do for business which is why I rated this 5 star but you should def read this review if traveling with a larger party. We booked this place because myself and another mom were bringing our sons and a few friends down for a concert at the amphitheater. We particularly liked the outdoor space for them. We saw the rule about 10pm being quiet hours and knew we’d be at the concert at 10pm but mainly wanted the outdoor space to enjoy for the afternoon hours after the beach and before leaving out for the concert. Not an hour into being there (6pm) we get a message from the host threatening to kick us out for noise. We had LIGHT music playing and just the voices of some playing ping pong. No one was partying/excessive noise. Point being it seems quiet hours are really for all hours. The rest of the trip we walked on eggshells wondering if we were too loud. Not recommended for large groups or groups with young adults looking to enjoy

Walk Historic Downtown! “Blue Heaven”

BrandiRating, 5 stars5 days ago
We stayed 3 wonderful nights at Blue Heaven. The home is spotless and looks new. We felt right at home immediately. The back porch was my favorite, cool breeze, hanging daybed, and birds chipping. It was so nice. We brought our Sheltie with us and there was a bowl of water waiting for her when we got there! The kitchen had everything you need, there were snacks, toiletries, and pet wash, too! Valerie, Lenny, and Dagny truly thought of everything. It was less than a 15 minute walk to St. Georges street and 20 to the heart of it all. But really everything is very walkable. We will be back. Thank you for everything!

Art and sun filled home with hot tub in downtown.

JenniferRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Absolutely fabulous! Super close to everything including the historic district and a great coffee shop around the corner (Cornerstone Cafe). Curb appeal is beautiful and there is beautiful greenery all through the house. The hot tub area is great. Upstairs has 3 bedrooms that are compact but well appointed. Front bedroom has a beautiful balcony that overlooks the street and there was ALWAYS a breeze. Made it perfect to sit on the front porch downstairs or upstairs. The only thing to know is the one full bath is only accessible from inside one of the bedrooms, it wasn’t an issue for a girls trip of besties, just something to be aware of (there’s a half bath downstairs). Overall 10/10 recommend staying here. Justin was great to work with, always prompt at answering questions and gave great advice on where we should hit up a beach (Anastasia State Park).

Your guide to St. Augustine

All About St. Augustine

Founded in 1565 by a Spanish admiral, St. Augustine is the oldest continuously inhabited European settlement in the United States. Some historians believe this is the first place the Spanish explorer Ponce de Leon struck ashore after his sail across the Atlantic Ocean. The streets are lined with Spanish colonial-style and Moorish architecture, and the city’s sprawling historical district is home to cobblestone streets and buildings dating back to the 1700s. It’s easy to get lost in the past here, but you’re still in Florida, so when you need a break from wandering the centuries-old streets, you can seek respite at pretty Vilano Beach, a ten-minute drive from downtown.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in St. Augustine

The summer in St. Augustine is hot and wet. June through September bring highs in the 80 and 90s Fahrenheit and frequent rain showers. If you’re traveling in these months, pack light, breathable clothes and bring an umbrella or waterproof clothing. October through May brings temperatures ranging from the mid-60s to the high 70s. The coldest month is January, with an average high of 66 degrees. The city is also prone to occasional flooding, so bring some waterproof shoes along with your flipflops.

Top things to do in St. Augustine

Castillo de San Marcos

Built in 1695 to fend off marauding pirates and other enemies, the imposing and stately Castillo de San Marcos is the oldest stone fort in the nation. Its walls, which are built from coquina — limestone formed by ancient shells — are 14 feet thick in some places. You can explore the vaulted casements (chambers where food, ship repair materials, and up to 200,000 cannonballs were stored) and climb the stone steps to the gun deck where up to 60 cannons were mounted. Check the website for a schedule of live reenactments, which include cannon firings.

Villa Zorayda Museum

A millionaire hardware merchant from Boston modeled his winter home in St. Augustine on the Alhambra, a 35-acre palace in Spain built over 1,000 years ago. Built in 1883 from a mixture of coquina and concrete, the Moorish-style house is an ornate tribute to what money can buy, with a three-story tower and a two-story interior atrium ringed by horseshoe arches. The house is now a museum that houses eccentric antiques, including the Sacred Cat Rug, which is reportedly 2,400 years old and woven from Egyptian cat hair.

ACCORD Freedom Trail

One of St. Augustine’s most historically significant neighborhoods is known for its role in the Civil Rights movement. Lincolnville, founded by freedmen after the Civil War, was a nexus for activism in the 1960s, when Black residents risked their lives to desegregate local businesses, staged sit-ins and protests, and played a vital role in the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. visited St. Augustine several times, and was arrested here when participating in a protest at a segregated restaurant. Visit the ACCORD Freedom Trail website to find a self-guided tour and detailed descriptions of 31 historical sites marked with interpretive plaques.
