Sand and Waves: side by side Beachfront Bliss

MarkRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We stayed at Paola's place for a company retreat. We were able to book both houses and they very comfortably accommodated our group of 14, with room to spare. The houses were very comfortable. The property is amazing, with direct beach access and plenty of room. Paola was a great host. Very responsive and very helpful. I would definitely stay again.

Cowboy Pool, Beach, Bike, Grill, Stroller, Dogs OK

BenjaminRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Perfect two night stay for our family of 4. The first rental in a while that everyone, even our teenagers, had zero complaints about. Our hosts were extremely responsive and bent over backwards to get us a corkscrew the day we checked in and wanted to open a bottle to celebrate my wife's birthday. A very quick drive to the public access point of our favorite beach or a reasonable walk to the private boardwalk. The house was very clean and comfortable and good value. It was a nice spot to take a few zoom meetings for my work.

Walk to beautiful Vilano beach

AshleyRating, 5 stars4 days ago
Clay was the nicest Airbnb host our family has ever had. He was super friendly and made great local restaurant suggestions for us. The rental was clean, had plenty of extra linens/towels, kitchen supplies and was a short walk to beach access. The neighborhood was very nice and we felt very safe to take family walks in the evenings.

Beach and Pool Retreat in Palm Coast

MorganRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
This was the perfect spot for our family vacation! The short walk to the beach and heated pool kept us all entertained. The high chair, pack n play, children’s books, baby gate, pool and beach toys really made the home standout as a family with young kids. We were able to grill out and enjoy all of our meals outside on the beautiful wrap around porch. The downstairs game room and bar helped keep the fun going when the afternoon rainstorms forced us inside. Unfortunately, the hot tub was not working for the first day we were there, but the host worked diligently to get it serviced. We were able to enjoy it for the rest of our stay. We are already making plans to visit again soon!

Majorca Manor Beach Bliss

JonathanRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This place was even more beautiful than we expected. The home was well-appointed and very comfortable for our family of eight. The nearby beach was stunning and great for swimming. Technically, you can walk there, but it's a bit of a hike that requires a long u-turn on the road. With small children, we drove the short distance instead, but there was always plenty of parking in the free public lot. Great restaurants nearby, beautiful and quiet community, and an amazing house. We loved our stay!

Your guide to St. Johns County

Welcome to St. Johns County

St. Johns County hugs the Atlantic coast of Florida in the state’s northeast corner, running south along 42 miles of white sand, lined with beaches and the country’s earliest European-founded city. Separated from the rest of the mainland by the St. Johns River, the county runs from Ponte Vedra Beach in the north, just outside of Jacksonville, to Matanzas State Park in the south, with the largest city, St. Augustine, in the middle. Founded by Spanish colonizers in the 16th century, St. Augustine is the country’s oldest continuously occupied European settlement. Outside of town, the long beaches create a playground for watersports, and small beach towns offer myriad options for various vacation styles.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in St. Johns County

Winter through late spring are the peak seasons in St. Johns County. Daytime temperatures are cooler, and the weather is generally drier, with half as many rainy days as in the summer. November, December, and January welcome one of the region’s biggest events, the St. Augustine Nights of Lights festival. Though summer sees more rain, storms are usually short-lived, and the coastal breezes tend to moderate the heat.

Top things to do in St. Johns County

Fort Mose Historic State Park

Though nothing remains of the first legally sanctioned, free Black settlement in what would later become the United States, this park sits on the site of the historic fort, alongside a visitor center and an interactive museum telling the story of the emancipated former slaves who lived here. The 24-acre waterfront park also has picnic sites and a boardwalk that provides accessible opportunities for birdwatching.

Colonial Quarter

Watch the history of St. Augustine come to life before your eyes at this two-acre living museum. A combination of historic and replica buildings offer an immersive experience of the city’s previous lives, staffed by period-costumed guides and serving food from previous eras. Interactive exhibits cover five centuries of European settlement, including shipmaking, musket drills, and leatherworking.

Matanzas Inlet Beach

This stunning white sand beach stands out from others along the coast for its sandy nooks, hiking trails, and clear water flowing through the Matanzas Inlet. A short ferry ride away, the 18th-century Fort Matanzas sits on nearby Rattlesnake Island, offering a glimpse of history as well as a short boardwalk through the island’s maritime forest.
