The breakfast in the morning was amazing, homemade food. The set up the breakfast table every morning and were so quick and quiet you didn't even know they were there. The farm is very relaxing and beautiful surroundings. We thoroughly enjoyed being unplugged for the weekend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The house was beautiful and comfortable. She even left us a jar of homemade raspberry jam that was absolutely delicious! I appreciated the write-up about the history of the house, as I have always been interested in the history of old houses. Julia was very prompt, friendly and responsive with any questions that we had, and very accommodating when we needed to extend our stay. We would absolutely love to stay here again in the future.

Cannot say enough great things about this place! Their home was so clean and we loved how they decorated! In the heart of Valle Crucis which is stunning. Very close to the Mass General Store. Easy drive to Boone, Blowing Rock & Banner Elk. The host were so nice and welcoming! We loved the fire! We definitely want to come back asap!! Thank you so much for being great host!

If a peaceful, sleepy, serene example of what living in a small town is really like, then this is the perfect place for you! This absolutely beautiful and well preserved farmhouse, which dates back to the 1890’s was clearly restored by people who obviously love this house and a way of life that has become very difficult to experience for most folks today. The grounds are picturesque and the livestock on the grounds, only add to the genuine appeal of the overall property. Karen is a very kind, generous, and responsive hostess which only serves to make a stay here more comfortable. The dining area is spacious and well lit. The finer details of this house have been preserved in working order as well. Check out is just as easy as checking in as a side note. To be certain, I have never stayed in any other Air B&B, that I would have been proud to call my own. I have nothing but praise for Karen and the job they did in making it possible for folks to experience this area, and Lee County VA!

This is our third stay and we have booked three more as it fills up very fast. This visit was more spring growth and the birthing of the baby goats. It was much less cold so we sat on the patio and ate and also ventured onto the gazebo and read some poems on the bright warm sun. The house is spacious 3 BR and very light and airy. There is a new Keurig that heats better with some variety of coffee and tea pods. Our next visit is Easter Sunday and we will be parading with all the animals there and hopefully many spring flowers. Highly recommend!!!!!! 10 stars !!!

When visiting the Hillsville area, Mark of Design is one of our top go-to’s. Very convenient location for those wanting to be in Hillsville, yet also close to Galax and the Blue Ridge Parkway area. We love watching the beautiful horses on the farm, and also the abundant wildlife, to include deer, rabbits & wild turkeys!

The house was great for us, very clean, the snacks and coffee were much appreciated. The property is very peaceful, and the walking trails were a great way to start the morning. Overall recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful relaxing weekend at Heidi's place. Very spacious, decorated nicely. Could use a little bit bigger tv, a few more kitchen items, but other than that it was wonderful. We loved being able to pull in the garage. Hot tub was bigger than I thought and very relaxing. The little farm animals were so cute. The goat was my favorite even though he would not let us pet him. 😊 We will definitely be back for another long weekend, possibly bring our kids.

Carol’s place was exactly as described. The home was very large, and had plenty of space to spread out. We had a large group of all ages, and everyone had somewhere to sleep safely. I liked that there were two bedrooms downstairs, so there was enough accommodations for the people in our group that couldn’t safely do the stairs. I imagine it would be fun to stay in summertime when you could enjoy the outdoors as well! This will be our go to place for the Dayton area!

My two grandsons and I took a little adventure to the countryside and enjoyed every minute. Loved the tiny cottage, the beautiful scenery, and the friendly cows and goats who came to the fence to greet us. The boys made a fire for s’mores and ghost stories. They were amazed at how dark the night got. The cottage was clean, cozy and had everything we needed.

There's a reason why they are super host. The place was spotless. Very comfortable. Better than the photograph show. They were very responsive check in was easy. Will not hesitate to stay again.

We felt right at home and enjoyed our stay. We loved being able to feed and pet the horses every day. This home was the perfect location for our bourbon tour adventure. We would highly recommend!

It was close to the venue for a family members wedding. It is as described and very clean. The host was polite and responsive. A note: it is not in any way handicapped accessible. There was no claim that it was. Just a note if you are older or use mobility aids.

This home was perfect. Well stocked and clean. Felt right at home. Host thought of everything, even having a homemade coffee cake on the counter for us. Would highly recommend.

Such a great place to stay!! Pretty clean and accommodating. Very relaxing and peaceful place! The animals were amazing to watch! The daughter was such a sweetie to talk to! Lots of cute little kitties to watch. Wish we knew beforehand that we could have bought fresh eggs and ground beef from the family farm instead of hauling from out of town. But I would definitely recommend this place!

This was our second time staying at Drennen Ridge! Trish and Mike made sure we had everything we needed before we arrived including age appropriate toys for our toddler and a pack and play for our 4 month old. Our toddler enjoyed spending time outside and we were comfortable throughout our stay. This is a very peaceful place with beautiful surroundings and we hope to stay again sometime!

The farm house was perfect for us and our young boys! They enjoyed playing along the river and we could relax and keep them always in view while enjoying the river/fire pit too! Also, the house is in a perfect location for any day trip to the gorge! Tom was a great host and willing to help any way he could. We would most definitely stay at there again!!

Gina was an awesome host! Answered all my questions. Had everything that you need plus extra. Home was perfect, clean, great location. We had 6 kids and 4 adults with plenty of room. Would go back in summer to enjoy more of the outside things, it was too cold and rainy this time of year. But house was perfect we had our family Christmas there. Thank you, Gina.

Truly one of the very best AirBNB's we've stayed at. Immaculately clean, lots of thoughtful touches, and a beautiful home and surroundings. (It's also nice to have some fun hiking in the area!)

It was so beautiful and peaceful we love that they had a swing set for the kids they loved being outside playing and seeing the cows we will definitely be going back it was definitely worth it can’t wait to come back soon
