I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Motherby House and am so grateful to the hosts, Jacquie and David, for making me feel so welcome. They’re both kind and engaging—and they gave me some great recommendations for places to eat and visit in the area. Breakfast was delicious and Jacquie kindly made me a tasty packed lunch for my hike! I’d be very happy to stay here again.

Irene’s home is very warm and beautiful, nicely themed house with her life experiences all over the world, it was beautiful chatting with her.A very friendly lady, accommodating me last minute, I was also offered a wonderful humble meal , would stay again in the future!

Had a fantastic stay at Pondon Mill this weekend. We were made to feel so welcome, the breakfast was fantastic. We did establish our dog is scared of cats, but as Barbara suggested we just need to get one of our own to train him. We will definitely be returning. Amazing setting, lovely people. Fantastic place to stay with so much history. Thank you for having us!

I had a very pleasant stay here, it felt like home straight away. Very clean , comfortable and the area was nice and quiet. Joanne is an amazing host , occasionally saying hi and having a nice conversation with me. I felt really happy here and will be staying again ! 100% would recommend as a peaceful and elegant getaway ! If you like nature and sunshine , Joanne’s garden is the place to be and Jesmond Dene just being a stone throw away for the perfect nature walk.

I had the most wonderful experience staying here. Rosie was very welcoming and made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The cottage is beautiful and really cozy. The upstairs was spacious and the bed was perfect for a good night's sleep. Rosie was kind enough to take the time to walk with me to the River Derwent. It was such a beautiful stroll and a lovely way to see the area through a local’s eyes. She also gave great tips on nearby places to explore and walk around. In the evening, they even offered me pizza and chips, which was so thoughtful and kind. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. I had a fresh fruit salad followed by a lovely hot breakfast. Rosie also shared a homemade jam, which made it feel all the more special. I couldn't recommend Rosie's place enough. Thank you, Rosie and Paul, for the warm hospitality!

Amazing overnight stay. Beautiful surroundings, the food In the pub was incredible. Especially the pies! Will be back again for sure. Hosts and everyone were so friendly, even being our 2 big dogs it was a great stay.

Review of an Excellent Cottage in the Lake District My recent stay at a cottage in the Lake District was absolutely fantastic! The property exceeded all my expectations in terms of comfort, location, and amenities. Nestled amidst the breathtaking natural beauty of the area, the cottage offered stunning views of the surrounding landscapes, making it the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. The interiors were cozy yet modern, with a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable furnishings, and immaculate cleanliness throughout. the hosts were very welcoming and friendly and were always ready to help out whenever needed. they were very accommodating with our dog and had a gorgeous little puppy themselves as well as lots of other animals. the place was perfect and just like the listing said very relaxing and peaceful. a great atmosphere and vibe and would love to visit again. Juliette and Nick’s loft is a peaceful and comfortable space in a safe and affluent residential area of Bramhope. There is a lovely view through large windows looking out over gardens, fields and hills. The breakfast was generous and I enjoyed the nice toiletries. I also appreciated the plants, books, ornaments and thoughtful touches which made it a homely and welcoming place to be. Juliette and Nick were really hospitable and all communication beforehand was great too. We recommend the loft as a fab place to stay and look forward to returning ourselves one day.

We found the Kentrigg House accommodation spacious and very comfortable. The private sitting area with it's own TV is a great place to relax before going to bed. Elizabeth's continental breakfasts are wonderful. Breakfast is served in a large conservatory with great views across the valley. A relaxing and enjoyable stay. We will book again!

Lovely small place to stay. The main bedroom was lovely and spacious with a very comfortable bed. The tea and coffee/toast and cereal in the morning was so lovely and just what we needed before a long journey! The recommendations and quick and proactive responses were amazing! We loved our stay and definitely would recommend!

Diane was a very responsive host and an extremely lovely person. She and Ian were very helpful, the location of the BnB was excellent, the room was lovely and clean with a comfortable bed and nice hot shower. Diane’s cooking was also incredible, we enjoyed two very lovely breakfasts. We would absolutely stay again!

Would highly recommend staying here, I stayed here for my birthday and it was the perfect night away, tranquil, scenic and absolutely worth the money! Tobias is a class host so unbelievably friendly and accommodating!

Tony is a kind, reliable, and responsive host who made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The house is beautifully decorated and thoughtfully furnished, creating a warm and comfortable environment. Its location is ideal: just a 10-minute walk from both the train and main bus stations, which makes it a perfect base for exploring the Lake District. We especially enjoyed not having to worry about breakfast each morning before heading off early on our new adventures. Special highlights were spending time with Smudge, Tony’s adorable and playful kitten, and admiring Tony's latest pottery creations. We’d gladly stay here again without hesitation!

Jenny's place was a real treasure to find. She made my wife and I really feel at home. Very hospitable and nothing was too much trouble. We especially loved using the pod at the bottom of her garden which overlooked the canal.

Such a homely, lovely place to stay. Julia was very kind and communicative. The room was really comfy and clean and I slept very well. The living room, bathroom and kitchen also had all the amenities needed which was great. I would recommend to anyone visiting and will definitely be back!

Firstly, and most importantly, Sara was the most incredible host. She is a wonderful human, and looked after me perfectly. Coffee and breakfast in the morning. She arranged a seat in the sun for reading outside in the afternoon, and pre-lit the fire in the evening so the private living room was cozy on my return from dinner. And so much more. Birkenpath is a gem of a house, set in the most gorgeous nature. Large and comfy bedroom inside, and gorgeous hikes just out the front door. Don’t hesitate to book. It is among the very best of the best.

I arrived earlier than check in just to advise that I was actually there and was not a no show due to me not returning till late that night. I was given my keys and had immediate access to the room and a quick drink in the bar before I went to do my thing . A lovely place to come home to with friendly locals in the bar while I was having a nightcap :-)

we stayed at Liz and Edwards farm which was one of the most memorable experience. The place was tastefully decorated by Liz who had been an amazing, helpful and kind host serving up delicious cakes and breakfast each day, making sure we start the day right! She was extremely helpful in suggesting places to visit as well as showed us around her beautiful farm. One of the best bnb's i have stayed at and would definitely visit back when visiting the lake district. The farm gets covered by a blanket of stars at night, an ideal location for a peaceful holiday!

It was brilliant to get to stay with Marianne in her family home. She was very welcoming and friendly and showed us around her home and all of the amenities. Once settled in we made the short walk into the centre of town. We were able to come and go as we pleased. Marianne provided a delightful continental breakfast which was generously sized and set us up very well for the day. We shared stories and it was great to learn about eachother. As someone new to Lancaster, she also gave us some helpful insights into the area. She was a natural host and very sweet and accommodating. Thank you 😊
