Gorgeous tranquil spot, felt very private and secluded. Cosy cabin despite the weather outside. Only a very short drive into the beautiful town of Westport. We really enjoyed our few nights here. Need to come back in the summer for a dip in the river!

We stayed in Ballycroy as part of a large family party. John was always very prompt in answering any questions and very accommodating in dealing with our requests. He sent very clear instructions on how to get to the house and there was a very good manual provided. As we were arriving on Easter Sunday, John hid Easter eggs in a fairy garden on the grounds of the house for the children to find. The house is uniquely designed and crafted and was perfect for our needs. It is situated in a wonderful part of Ireland and the views from it are breathtaking. We had a wonderful time!

Dave's place was an absolute dream. My wife and I and our dogs Ollie and Arlo had an amazing, peaceful and totally chilled out few days there- (extremely dog friendly and safe with a secure fence) Perfect place to get away from the world and enjoy total peace and quiet. It's cosy and has everything you need. We left wishing we had more time! Will 100% be back again

Fantastic stay. The unit was well-appointed with everything we needed and the views from the property were truly spectacular. The unit is secluded and private but also only a short drive from Westport. While there we had great day trips to Connemara Nat'l Park, Killary Fjord, Céide Fields, Downpatrick Head, and appreciated Paula's recommendation of Old Head Beach too. Westport was possibly my favorite area from our trip to Ireland and I would 100% stay here again.

Place was immaculate. Fantastic to have access to an extremely well-equipped kitchen. Beds very comfortable. Only thing that we had trouble with was the heating; there were no controls and we found it very warm, with the windows being a bit tricky to open. Overall a beautifully comfortable place, with a lovely quiet location.

The place was absolutely beautiful, although it is a shared property, it felt extremely private and we never even ran into the other residents. Elaine/Kenneth are extremely thoughtful; they had the house so clean and tidy and even put a Happy Birthday cake in the fridge for us before our arrival as we had specified it was a Birthday trip away. Achill is an absolutely beautiful place and is only 15 minutes away from the property by car (the furthest part of the island being approx. 50 minutes away). Thank you so much for our stay and the many memories from such a beautiful place in the world. We hope to be back in coming years.

From start to finish - our stay was just perfect! Aggie was such a welcoming & attentive host and we loved our stay in Drop Anchor!!! We’re a family of 6 and the apartment was perfect for us!! Every morning we did the hour walk / loop around the stunning lake & beach!!! It was pure heaven! And following Aggie’s recommendations - we had a yummy dinner in Oliver’s Seafood Bar & Restaurant in Cleggan and then hit Clifden the next evening and had a gorgeous dinner in Mannions & then over to Ravi’s for live music & a great trad session!!! We would definitely recommend Drop Anchor for a winter retreat! Aggie even spoiled us with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies after one of our walks and dips in the ‘Baltic’ sea 🤣🥶🤣! Thank you Aggie for being so welcoming & we look forward to coming back again very soon!!

We had a wonderful long weekend in Garretts cottage. It was a gorgeous location, a short drive to Westport with incredible views over Clew Bay. Lots to see and do in the area. The cottage was fabulous and completely kitted out for us, including a lovely welcome package. We could have stayed lots longer and hope to come back again with our 2 children. Would highly recommend. Thank you!
