Family-friendly vacation rentals in County Mayo

Booking was a breeze. Contacted the hosts beforehand and they were extremely helpful in narrowing down a date and a check-in time. When we arrived, Dermot was there to greet us and showed us to our place of stay. He made sure that we felt welcomed and if we needed anything at all, not to be afraid to give him a shout. Dermot helped us with organising a take-away and also with setting up the fire and heater. Area was beautiful and peaceful with stunning views of the Ox Mountains range. The barn was far bigger than I expected, with lots of room and everything you could need. Overall, was a very enjoyable experience and would highly recommend it.

I booked the place wanting to stay in the Ox Mountain area as my grandmother loved to glance at the Ox Mountain in north direction as she lived south of Moy River. It was first trip for my best friend, so it was spectacular place to be especially time of the year with all of these fresh snow and experience what it was like to live with turf fireplace. I am humbled by all of this experiences and beautiful surroundings. Dermot and Monica were thoughtful and friendly hosts. Their recommendations on places to visit and where to eat were spot on! You cannot beat the spa fees - affordable price! It is good for anyone who wants to be off the grid from phones/technology and be in tuned with the nature, animals and people.

Mary’s cabin is ideal for a peaceful break in an idyllic setting. The cabin is very comfortable and cosy and extremely well equipped. The views of the Lough, the private beach, the donkeys and the peace & quiet made this a very relaxing & refreshing break. The hot tub was pure bliss! Mary is a very kind and welcoming host. Hope to return in the summer!

Collanmore Island Lodge is unreal, couldn't recommend it more! We had the best stag weekend ever here and Ciaran is a absolute gent. Getting to the island is easy and exciting, beds are comfy and facilities are top notch. Ideal for big family gatherings or any type of West of Ireland getaway. I will be back again for sure, thank you Ciaran and your great team.

Fabulous location of property, scenic and beautiful. Large and spacious accommodation which suited our needs. Host left a selection of goodies for our arrival which were greatly appreciated (and enjoyed! Thank you!). Caretaker very friendly and responsive-quick to solve any issues. Perfect amount of correspondence from the host and quick with replies. Property would benefit from handrail to main entrance and also inside by the couple of steps outside the toilet. This is a personal suggestion as we were a group with limited mobility and this most likely would not be an issue for majority of guests staying here. The football themed bedroom was a delight to one of our party, who just by chance is an avid Arsnell supporter!!! 😄 We really enjoyed our stay and quite possibly will return. Thank you very much

Such a beautiful property, exactly as the host described. Very clean, spacious and private. Jim was so helpful and went above and beyond for us! I will definitely be returning and would highly recommend.

My brother and myself were paying a visit to relatives who live in the area..we found Sheila’s air B&B to be very accommodating..very homely ..warm ..private ..as my brother described it to being like “ home from home “.accommodation was very clean and well equipped .We could not find fault at all . We met Sheila before departing and had a lovely friendly chat and discovered she knew our relatives . We would definitely use this accommodation again if it met our requirement dates .

Didn't get to meet Robert but everything was as described. Very clean and cosy with underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom and stove too. Good WiFi for streaming and a local shop close by. The bed was very comfortable, we enjoyed our short stay

The cottage is situated in a great location, close to beautiful lakes and mountains to hike, including the one located right behind it! The cottage is really comfortable and cosy. The fire keeps the main areas warm, but the central heating works great, if you need it. There are also electrical radiators in every room as an option. The kitchen is well equipped, with pans and pots and all the cutlery you could need. We really didn't miss anything! There was a kettle, a toaster and even a coffee machine! Also, the toilet has a hairdryer, if you need it. The access to the second floor may be difficult for very young children, but the big cottage has a comfortable bedroom downstairs, which is a great option in these cases. My girlfriend had a chance to talk to William and said that he was absolutely lovely. He made every effort for us to be comfortable, cleaning the fireplace every day. We absolutely love this place. It was our second time here and we will definitely be back again.

We cannot thank Teresa enough for taking such good care of us. Unfortunately a snowstorm blew through just before our arrival cutting power to the island. Despite being out of the country, Teresa was immediately in touch, providing advice and everything we needed to make the stay comfortable. Her caretaker Michael met us on arrival and made sure we had plenty of turf for the fire and candles. The house is in a beautiful location, with stunning views of the sea, is very comfortable and has everything you could need. Thank you again for an amazing experience we will never forget!

Truly a lovely cottage. Authentic old world charm with modern amenities. beautifully decorated, spacious but cozy, not cluttered. Very comfortable beds. Peaceful and quiet in a rural setting. Close to a beautiful beach and a good base for exploring North Mayo county. Sabine and Dawn are most helpful. Highly recommend this lovely place!

Spectacular spot! Great place to unwind

Nothing short of being an absolutely amazing place to spend the weekend with a bunch of friends / family. I think we were particularly pleased with how well equipped the kitchen is to support serving a group of 10+. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone looking thinking of booking.

Great weekend spent in Donals cosy house in Strand hill. Super location. Central for our stay . Lots to do in the area. Loved the sea baths, climb to Queen Maeves grave, peoples market and breakfast at airport. Wish we had another few days.

John and Tanya were a pleasure to deal with. House in ideal location for exploring county sligo, mayo and surrounding counties. perfect condition with all the basics covered in the kitchen to cook food. they were even kind enough to leave a milk, bread and butter there to be used by us. would highly recommend and will definitely use again in the future.

Oh my goodness this place!!!! Absolutely stunning location, peaceful and private yet handy for a great choice of restaurants in Clifden. The cottage itself is just totally beautiful, spacious, clean, comfortable and the views are unreal. We’ve never spent so much time wanting to look out of windows!! The deer and the ponies were a bonus. Mary was great at communication. All in all my favourite Airbnb. Thank you so much for letting us experience this fabulous property in a magical area.

Lovely weekend in Achill . House has character and is in a great position close to Keel beach and the beehive ( lovely food with vegan options). Catherine left some homemade scones and bread which was a lovely touch. Recommend
