Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Volcano

We booked Danielle's place for our quick visit to Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island of Hawaii. Having stayed in the same neighborhood on a trip before, we were familiar with the area, and Danielle's place did not disappoint. The large, three bedroom, easily sleeps six. clean and welcoming. Danielle is a friendly host who communicates very well. It is a great space for a family trip. A great value.

As we settled into the beautifully furnished home, we were delighted by the special touches that made our stay even more enjoyable—fresh flowers on the dining room table; fuzzy slippers and soft blankets for the chilly Hilo nights; 100% Kona coffee. The house is clean, quiet and close to the National Park and Village of Volcano. Jeff is a thoughtful and responsive host. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Tree Fern Escape.

Vicki was very quick to respond right out of the gates. I booked this bungalow over a year ago knowing that we wanted to visit the volcanos for an extended time and needed something more than a hotel room. Her bungalow is typical of a mountain retreat with a loft that overlooks the main living area. When she said that the fireplace was available and that it gets chilly she was not kidding! We used the fireplace for three of our six nights there. Who would have thought that the temps drop into the low 50’s at night. I would suggest that you do grocery shopping in Hilo for the bulk of the staples you plan on using. Safeway is a great choice. The local markets are OK but obviously don’t have the variety of foods you may be looking to have available.

Home was clean and hosts were very helpful and kind. Driveway is a little difficult to find the first time since it’s a bit hidden by foliage, but it’s very peaceful and quiet. The tile floors are cold, so bring warm socks! Overall a wonderful place to stay.

The mornings were the best part of the stay. The beautiful ferns and birds chirping filled our mornings with peace calm and tranquility. Local shops were a 40 minute drive but even that was a peaceful drive. If you are looking to reconnect with nature or just recharge this is the place.

We would highly recommend this rental! Brenda was excellent, and the house was so cozy. She accommodated our requests and was very understanding of everything. The only suggestion we’d make to other renters is to bring a jacket because it’s a little more chilly than you’d expect in Volcano in general. While we were there, we saw lava as the volcano erupted (we were totally safe)! Quite a treat!

Robin's cabin in Volcano is wonderfully peaceful and easily reached from the Kona or Hilo side. We traveled from the Hilo side and a grocery stop in Hilo or Keanu area is recommended. There are two small general stores near the cabin with a few options. This beautiful property is ten minutes from Volcano National Park in luscious forest. The rental unit is a separate cabin on the same grounds as the main house. It is very spacious with two bedrooms, a full bath with washer and dryer, a fully equipped kitchen, dining & living room, with all the conveniences of home. Please note there are limited dining options locally and in the park. The hosts were very responsive and accommodating, everything was as cited in the listing. Furnishings were all comfortable, the unit is spotless, and we were met some lovely fresh fruit and jam. We will return- thank you!

Mitch was nice it is a shared driveway I was unaware of that either by not reading or some other issue on our island hopping adventure. So it was a bit of a suprise to hear someone close the next day(we arrived very late), but they kept to themselves and hardly bothered us. Keep in mind the outdoor buildings and outside garage is a shared space. It was a wonderful stay the owner and his wife were nice and was tending another property farther back. It was super secluded on a dead end road. The volcano was shooting lava the day before we arrived and we saw some awesome smoke clouds with a red glow from our yard. It was a super rustic cabin surrounded by a jungle. Tons of birds around great wifi if you need it with tons of speed for the area 500mbps up and down. It is far away from big cities, but close to Volcano National Park so if your outdoorsy or just want to get away from the big city in a nice cabin this is a great stay for you! ( we stayed in winter unsure about summer weather)
