Karen is an excellent Host. The Apartment is perfect, modern, great location, well equipped, there are plenty of restaurants in walking distance but yet the Apartment is in a peaceful location. There is a beautiful beach literally minutes away. Can't wait to come back.

Full Ocean- Full Sunsets- Beaches at Royal Mauiian

StephanieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
James’ place was perfect! The view from the lanai was breathtaking and we spent a lot of time there just enjoying the view, watching humpback whales and of course amazing sunsets. Super easy and walkable access to multiple different beaches, stores, restaurants and souvenir shops. We didn’t rent a car until the end of our trip but we hardly needed it! The AC was great when we first arrived but after that we didn’t even need it despite the very warm temps! The condo stayed cool and comfortable! We absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend it!!

Ocean property W/ king bed, AC, pool & hot tub

JuanRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The place was perfect, I would stay there again. The location may seem away from other popular cities but it is right in the middle of the island so if you plan on visiting everything. This is the perfect spot to not have 1 hr plus drives because you decide to stay on one side

Luxury beachfront designer remodel - hotel zoned

GailRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Fantastic Stay in a Beautiful Oceanfront Condo We had an amazing stay at this beautiful condo in Kihei. The unit was spotless, well-appointed, and had a fully stocked kitchen—including a rice cooker - perfect for preparing meals. One of the highlights was the balcony, where we enjoyed morning coffee with ocean views. The location was ideal—quiet and tucked away from the busier parts of Kihei, yet still close to everything we needed. The property had a nice pool, and the beach right out back was perfect for both swimming and snorkeling. The host was fantastic—always responsive and easy to reach via Airbnb messenger, making our stay seamless. We were looking for a relaxing oceanfront retreat in Maui, and this condo was an excellent choice. We would definitely stay here again!

Direct Beach/Ocean front, 20 Steps to the Water!

SharonRating, 5 stars1 month ago
You cannot beat the view from this place. We had a few touristy day trips planned but did not go- instead opting to just relax. We saw whales flopping in the ocean, turtles swimming right in front of us and the RAINBOWS were amazing! The place is as described and pictured. It is a bit secluded but also close enough to get food/shop, etc. Perfect. They have all TV apps and the pay laundry is easy to use with the app they have. If I ever get to make my way back to Maui- I will definitely want to come back here.

☼ Stylish & Bright 2bd Oceanfront Condo | 5★ Views

LoreleiRating, 5 stars1 week ago
our family of 3 loved our stay here! it is far enough away from the kihei business district to feel quiet, and yet, is still a lovely 20 minute walk along the beach to some of maui's best shave ice and breakfast pastries. the condo is well stocked with all the necessities, including beach gear and additional fans for the warmer evenings. i spent literally hours sitting on the deck, staring out into the ocean and writing, hoping to catch a glimpse of whales (even though it was pretty late in the season). our 10 year old son loved hanging out on the tiny beach out front and jumping in the gentle waves. overall, andrew and heidi's place was a delight!

*Last Minute Deal*Oceanfront Maui's Sugar Beach!

DonnaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
The close proximity to the ocean was absolutely amazing! Being able to hear and see the ocean was my main requirement and Viktoria's listing is in a perfect location. The photos are pretty accurate, although like most listings, make the place look larger than it is, especially the kitchen. This place is absolutely perfect for one person, pretty good for two, but I can't imagine more than 2 people using it. Everything in the unit is great and totally functional and we would definitely go back again, however the price was a little high for the size of the unit. Maybe that's because our anniversary trip also hit during spring break, which we did not realize. We would definitely go back to this place, but not at the price we paid. There's a canoe rental place, farmers' market, shaved ice & ABC store all within a very short walking distance of this unit, and it's a quick 10-15 minute drive to lots of other things.

OCEAN FRONT Condo at Napili Bay, Near Kapalua!

BreaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Bin was a wonderful host, and the condo was exactly as described—beautiful, clean, and perfectly located just steps from the ocean. The laundry amenities were accessible and easy to use. The beach access was unbeatable, and the whole stay felt peaceful and easy. The only improvement we could think of adding recycling options on-site. Everything was fantastic—we’d absolutely stay here again!

Kamaole Sands - Remodeled - King Bed - Ocean View!

BhavnaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Our stay was very comfortable and Anke was a wonderful host. The place was exactly as described and check-in was quick. We received clear information (check-in, parking etc.) and recommendations for restaurants/things to do before we arrived. There are many reasonably priced places to eat nearby (including breakfast cafes), so we did not use the kitchen but the kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans, cutlery, dishes, glasses and basic spices. The bedroom was comfortable with a/c and had extra blankets. Bathrooms had towels, hair dryer etc. The balcony had nice view of the beach which we enjoyed over coffee every morning. Beach was steps away and had a lifeguard on duty. Anke was a wonderful host - she was prompt with communication, provided clear instructions and replied quickly when I had questions. We would stay at Anne’s place again and highly recommend!

A 5-Star Estate, Large Groups, Luxury Living

AngelaRating, 5 stars3 months ago
This townhouse was a spacious and beautiful place for our family to spend time together over the holidays. We enjoyed eating breakfast outside every morning and whale watching in the afternoons from the lanai. There is plenty of room to spread out as well as wonderful common spaces. The kitchen was well stocked and the townhouse had everything we needed for a trip to the beach (umbrellas, beach towels, beach chairs, cooler). There is plenty of room to spread out as well as wonderful common spaces. It was a 5 minute walk across the street the Grand Wailea and the beach walkway and a short drive to several beaches, golf course and shops. My daughter enjoyed the pool on property and my kids also worked out in the gym. There are codes to the property gate and to the townhouse. Our codes changed during our stay and that was somewhat confusing, but it all got sorted out. We loved staying here and you will too!

Stunning Luxury Oceanview Condo

MelissaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The resort grounds, amenities, and view were incredible especially given the price point. It is in the northern part of Kihei which requires a bit (~5 minutes) of driving south to get to some kid friendly beaches, but it gave the place a peacefulness since it was away from the busy heart of Kihei. We stayed with our small children and they loved the pool and the beach for building and playing in the sand. The pull out couch is the only thing I would mention. It was perfect for kids - they don't care what the bed feels like, but I wouldn't book the place if you are putting older kids/adults on the pull out Overall, we had such a great time and appreciate how responsive John was throughout the process. Thank you for sharing this condo with us!

Relaxing Kihei Condo right on the Beach in Maui

DanRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The condo was great for my family of 4. It had beach equipment in the closet and you could walk out the back of the property to get to the beach. Pool was nice and clean, code for the door is in the guest binder. Parking was easy, there were always multiple open spots. Parking pass can be picked up when the office is open and dropped off through a slot in the door if they are closed at checkout time. Close to restaurants and Ululani's shave ice which was really good.

Ocean view studio. 1k ft from water!June $149 m-th

CurtisRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We had a great stay at Kihei Bay Surf. We were right across the street from the beach, but when it got too windy, we also had pool access which was very nice. The road was a bit busy, but ultimately not too bad. For those guests that like to cook from their stays (like we do) we found the kitchen well equipped, though you may want to plan ahead regarding seasonings and condiments, etc. There are also a lot of great restaurants nearby (Karen's recommendations were all excellent!) Thanks!

Exquisite Remodel-Sleeps 8-Well Equipped-AC

JosephRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a lovely stay and the host was very responsive and helpful. They even brought us two brand new boogie boards to use when we asked about them. We had such a good time and were very happy with our stay. We are chemical sensitive, so the only difficulty for us was the clothes washer as a strong fragrance (tide) was used so we had to buy some sheets while on the island and use our own towels etc. This isn’t uncommon for us though, there are so many strong detergents used these days and they are instant headaches for us. A HUGE relief is that they did not use any air fresheners, just strong smelling laundry detergent. Everything else was absolutely wonderful. 10/10 recommend.

Oceanfront 5 star Retreat

JoshRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had a great time at Terri's unit. It was the perfect launching ground for our time in Maui with our two kids. The pool was never crowded, the grounds were nice and the little beach accessible from the building was nice for when we didn't want to get packed up to go elsewhere. The kids loved looking in the little tide pools during low tide and there were two turtles on the beach the day we checked in. The larger beach at the end of the block is easily walkable or also easy to park at if you want to drive a bunch of stuff down for a longer stay. We enjoyed feeling fairly centrally located and able to head north or south for different beaches as well.

Your guide to Wailea-Makena

All About Wailea-Mākena

Located on the southern shore of the Hawaiian island of Maui, Wailea is a resort area famous for its white-sand beaches, sprawling golf courses, and relaxing spas. Wailea-Mākena provides a great base for visiting southern Maui’s sandy shores, such as the nearby Wailea Beach, which is just a short walk from town, or Mākena Beach, where you can go for a refreshing swim or explore the pristine coastline by paddleboard or kayak.

You can also find many interesting natural attractions nearby, such as La Perouse Bay or Ahihi-Kinau Natural Area Reserve, which is teeming with marine life. Take a break from the sun and water by visiting the Shops at Wailea, a complex that features 70 retail stores — art galleries, boutiques selling Hawaiian shirts and water-sports gear —and restaurants serving creative takes on local mahi mahi and deep-water ahi tuna.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Wailea-Makena

Thanks to Maui’s consistent heat all year round, this is a great place to visit at any time. During the summer, the days are long, hot, and sometimes muggy, which is why many travelers cool off in the crystal-clear water found on Maui’s beaches.

During the spring and fall, the crowds thin out, making this a great time to visit if you want to have the beaches and hiking trails all to yourself. While the clouds gather overhead more frequently in the winter and the region sees a higher amount of rain, the warm weather remains, and showers are generally quick to come and go. Winter is also the best time to visit if you’re interested in whale watching or driving along Maui’s Road to Hana, a winding road famous for its waterfall hikes and lush greenery.

Top things to do in Wailea-Makena

Mākena State Park

Mākena Beach State Park, on the south side of town, is home to one of the largest undeveloped beaches on Maui. This stretch of shoreline, commonly referred to as “Big Beach,” features glistening white sand and cerulean waters surrounded by native kiawe forests and mango groves. Wander inland and you can hike up the 360-foot-tall Pu’u Olai, a dormant volcanic cinder cone, where you can survey the coastline from on high.

Ahihi-Kinau Natural Area Reserve

Located less than a 10-minute drive from Mākena State Park, this marine reserve offers one of the area’s best snorkeling spots. The ocean floor is covered by a coastal lava field intermixed with coral, making it a popular home for many different species of tropical fish, including butterfly fish, parrotfish, surgeonfish, and turtles. At the reserve, you can snorkel directly from the shoreline.

La Perouse Bay

Just 20 minutes south of Wailea-Mākena, La Perouse Bay is outlined by lush green vegetation and jagged lava rock formations, created when the now-dormant Haleakalā Volcano last erupted in 1790. Now the blackened lava rocks shelter numerous tide pools. If you’d like to peer in at the marine creatures living there, bring shoes with thick soles, as lava rock has many sharp edges.
