This cabin is likely the best in Volcano. Huge property all to ourselves. Brought some broccoli for the bunnies and they loved it. While this would be a great place for a family to visit it is not big enough for everyone to stay. Couples only. Lots of spices and EVO in the fully stocked kitchen. Breakfast was a great piece of banana bread with some fresh fruit. Yard is spectacular and extremely private. 3 minute drive from Volcano NP. Good restaurants in Volcano including the restaurant on the property. Cabin is small however it has everything you need and the bed is comfortable. Excellent for a couple staying on vacation. Perfectly located between the black sand beach and Hilo. It’s has a hidden gem here that absolutely should be booked.

The Crater Rim Cabin is truly a dream, from the cozy and thoughtful decor to the lush, peaceful gardens, we could not be more pleased with our stay in Volcano. Barry + Jim were the kindest souls and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The well-appointed kitchen allowed us to cook our own version of Thanksgiving dinner while curling up in front of the fire with our books. We can't wait for our next visit to this magical spot! ✨

The stay is 8min away from National Volcano Park. If you are planning 2 day’s visit to Volcano park, you can consider this. There is list of restaurants , if want to order food at home. We went to Volcano house for dinner as it was just 8 min away. I would recommend this stay. John also suggested some nearby places to eat food. This is a remote place as it is near the entrance of National volcano park but it is peaceful.

The description of the air bnb by Jason is very fitting. We were very happy that Bowser, Kaya, Cury and Amy (three dogs and a cat) are living there with us but that is something that is good to know in case of allergies. Jason was very forthcoming though and offered to keep the animals around him and away from us. One of the beds is located in the kitchen and living room that is used by Jason as well but he offered a curtain for privacy if needed. The Castle can be reached by public transport but we recommend a car. All in all we had a great stay and Jason is a very nice host with great cooking skills.

Our stay was absolutely incredible. We fell asleep each night to the soothing sounds of nature and birds chirping. The beds were super comfortable, making it easy to relax. The kids loved taking sand toys to the nearby beach and had a blast. The upper deck had lots of fun little activities—we especially enjoyed playing giant Jenga together as a family. The ping pong table was a big hit too. The kitchen was well-equipped, making it easy to cook and enjoy our favorite meals. Overall highly recommended for a laid back close to nature vacation.

My husband & I enjoyed our stay here. Everything about our stay was PERFECT! The aesthetic, the surrounding, the atmosphere and vibe was outstanding! We only stayed for a night but waking up to the view of a rainforest was beautiful. The hot tub was amazing especially when used at night because the air was crisp and cold. Very relaxing and peaceful. 10/10 recommend to anyone who considers staying here. We will be back!
