This country cottage dates to 1880. It is on the outskirts of Wenhaston, 5 miles from the coast. It is a real escape to the country, overlooking Suffolk Wildlife Trust reserve. With cows grazing and birds singing it seems idyllic. Lavender cottage sleeps 5 in 3 bedrooms, a king size master, double bedroom and single bedroom. The modern kitchen/diner with new appliances has dining for 6, while the cosy living room has a log burner. Accessed down a bridle path.

Tom was really helpful and got in contact first with us at booking. He was proactive in communicating with us regarding check in and directions. The place was beautiful, I'd love to see it in the summer (we stayed in October though and the leaves were beautiful colours!) The 4 Horseshoes is a great pub/restaurant and easily walkable. You do need a car though to get about! We wanted peaceful and it certainly was! Everything driveable although my satnav did like to drive through lots of tiny villages...in the dark...and I used to live nearby in Yaxley so knew many of the places but if you're unaware of the area, I can imagjne it would be easy to get lost!! Overall, a fantastic stay, great property, lovely hosts who left us to our own devices and a great location. Will definitely try to book again!! Thanks Tom and family. 10 thumbs up!!! 👍🏻

a lovely location and property. Great it has a car charging point. Worked really well for our disabled friend. really well equipped, even included doves for cooking! brilliant utility / drying room. At checkin Caroline, the owner, was worried about car noise from the road, we weren't. it was not an issue for us and she says the road is soon to be closed from one end anyway. Lovely log burner, house got too warm!! All in all a lovely experience, would go again

we had a pleasant four day stay, the property is ideally positioned to be close to everything but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. we found everything first rate at the property, making full use of the very good kitchen. living area and bedrooms were comfortable and the shower and toilets spotless. definitely would return

Our best Airbnb find! We had an amazing week at Red Hare Barn - it’s such a beautiful find in a peaceful location whilst still close to all the tourist highlights of the Suffolk coastline. Paul and Vanessa were so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay - from suggesting an early check-in, so we could make the most of the sunshine, to recommending off-lead beaches to walk our Labrador (a keen swimmer!) The barn itself is spacious, immaculately clean and very cosy! It is well-equipped with everything you could need for a family or couples stay, so much so that we stayed in most evenings and enjoyed the relaxing space. The enclosed garden, full of spring potted flowers and sun loungers to enjoy an afternoon cuppa was also a highlight! Plus enclosed garden and parking just outside. Our daughter is already asking us to rebook so we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for spring/summer 2026 dates! Thank you Paul and Vanessa.

We spent Christmas at Laura and Adam’s place and it was truly wonderful. The property is huge and the photographs do not do it justice. The kitchen is lovely and big, perfect for cooking and well equipped. The family room is nice and large, and the bedrooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. Hosts were very responsive both before we went, and whilst we were there. It is very dog friendly with a number of dog bowls, bags, treats and blankets. There are some lovely dog walks around the local area and the property is conveniently situated directly opposite the local pub. The only downsides to the property would be the noise from the busy road, but you soon get used to this. It would also be difficult with people who have mobility issues to navigate due to the large steps and low beams which are present due to the traditional nature of the property. I would highly recommend a stay here and a trip to the Suffolk Food Hall.

We had a wonderful 3 generation family holiday at Daphne Cottage. The house is really well located close to both the beach and town centre. The cottage itself is perfect, the photos don’t do it justice! Plenty of space, well equipped, comfortable, homely. We couldn’t have hoped for more. Thank you, Tom, for a fantastic holiday!
