The entrance to the house is through a garden, and to get there one can walk multiple paths through the oldest streets in the village, or take the public lift that takes you to the castle place. A small comfortable, romantic stone house in a tiny private country village dating back to the 13th Century, surrounded by 124 acres of fields and woods. To get to the property you need to drive through about 600 meters dirt road (unpaved). For safety reasons, children less than 12 years old are not admitted.

We absolutely loved our stay here and would recommend it to anyone! Pellegrino and his wife are very welcoming and helpful hosts. The pool and gardens are very beautiful and private, even better than on the photographs. The living space is small but clean and equipped with everything you need, the sofa bed is the comfiest and biggest we’ve slept on so that wasn’t an issue either. It’s an easy 15 min drive into Lucca and there are nearby restaurants - we didn’t try any within walking distance but we drove about 10 mins up onto the hill to some with amazing views and even better food!

Lara is the most welcoming and heartfelt person. Our stay at La Radice couldn’t be any better really. The house and garden was amazing as well as Lara’s restaurant with the most delicious homemade food. Everything made us feel very at home. We stayed for 2 weeks and had a nice time in Viareggio on the campsite. From there we were able to visit the cities of Pisa and Florence and have a boat tour from Viareggio to the Cinque Terre. The beach can easily be reached in about 15 minutes by bike. The bikes can be hired on the campground. It was also nice that Jan responded to inquiries at very short notice and gave helpful tips. Thank you! The campsite is very nice and the staff always friendly and helpful. All in all we had a nice holiday and can only recommend the accommodation!

Gianni and Marisa are excellent hosts. The communication was great and was very nice. Gianni welcomed us at the parking lot and helped us with the luggage. The pathway to get the house is steep and can only be done on foot. You must be aware of this as a potential guest. The house is lovingly furnished and well equipped. Thank you again for the warm welcome and hospitality!

We had a great experience in Robert's cabin: essential, functional, and perfect for two people (more people may be at risk of being a little tight). The cabin is in the middle of the countryside, but reachable by car. Beautiful and very quiet area immersed in the upper Val Nure, great for a restorative stay. In neighboring countries, however, there is no shortage of excursions (especially by bike) and activities.
