Barn vacation rentals in River Avon

I had a beautiful time at the Stables! It’s a getaway from the world at a working farm. I love animals, so I asked to meet some of them, and Yvonne took me to see (and pet!) the milking cows, and explained the entire process to me! The house had traditional charm but was has been updated everywhere that it counts. They have lists of local recommendations but I was happy to get groceries and use the excellent kitchen at the property. I did not have a car and was warned about difficulty getting around but as I was only interested in nature and peace and quiet, getting to and from on public transport was easy enough. Finally, Yvonne was always prompt responding to me and was very friendly and welcoming! I’d love to come back!

Amazing place to stay. In a nice quiet location but the main shops are only a 10 min drive away (Tesco’s etc). The accommodation is exactly as described and contains everything you need for a break away. Definitely recommend this place to stay if you are looking to visit Wookey Hole, Longleat Safari and Bath (which is what we did!).

Fantastic stay and great location. The owners were very quick to respond when messaged and they very kindly gave us a tour of their farm which we loved. I would highly recommend. 😊

Lovely homely stay, very comfy beds and sofa, well equipped kitchen and brilliant hot tub! Donna was so welcoming, helpful and responsive if needed. We went on some great days out to Glastonbury and Wookey Hole, plus Tyntesfield. The area was very quiet, the road did not bother us at all and we had an excellent meal at the local pub the Litton, would highly recommend.

Beautiful property. Animals especially chickens and the dog were a delight to adopt for the stay. Ellie was a fabulous host avd and really gracious and helpful. A perfect place, local pub was a good walk but very doable and really friendly. All in all a great experience, host and barn.

Charles was a superb host, highly amenable. Everything we needed was on hand. The cottage was clean, well appointed and as described. We loved waking in the bedroom to the natural sounds, taking in the beautiful morning light and seeing deer in the delightful garden outside the cottage. It was a perfect location for our short stay and couldn't have gone better. Charles has a great attitude to dogs as well- ours enjoyed the trip as much as we did.

We had a really lovely stay at Marion's barn conversion. It has a well equipped kitchen, nice bathroom, comfortable sofas - very nice set up, would definitely recommend. We really enjoyed playing tennis on the tennis court. Only disappointment was not being allowed to use the fireplace which hadn't been clear when booking.

A really nice place, with a great host!

The Stone Barn is set in a beautiful location and the place itself is amazing. We stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding in the local area and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. The barn is exactly as described and fitted out well with everything you would need. Nicky and Mark were great hosts, providing detailed check in and parking information as well as initial essential items in the barn. We are already looking for our next excuse to stay here again.

Just got back from 2 nights staying at The Old Stable, it was the perfect country stay getaway! We had the best time. The barn was lovely and cosy :) The location was spot on, so peaceful and picturesque. Lots of farm animals around the barn to look at, we loved the alpacas!! We were kindly able to feed them :) Trish and Paul was really kind and helpful throughout our stay! We shall be back again :) Thank you !

We loved our stay at the barn.The place was immaculate and very welcoming. The place itself had everything you need, it is very well though trough.Very nicely done up, there’s definitely an eye for the attention to details.We are a family of 4, 2 little ones under 8, we has some lovely bike rides and lovely teas at the Amberley inn and the Black Horse.We did the Stroud rail trail by bike, going towards Stonehouse,it wasn’t that great we ended up cycling along a dual carriageway, not great with little ones.But toward Nailsworth there’s a little cycling trail,which was really good fun, it’s not big but enough for a couple of jumps, and a few bumps.The property is facing a lovely field with Jasper and Petal the 2 local horses,and they’ll be happy to welcome you in the neighbourhood. The kids were very cosy upstairs and downstairs was great with a toasty fireplace. My hubby is quite tall so the bed unfortunate l’y was on the small side for us, nevertheless the mattress is very comfy

Stayed for two nights and managed to visit Bath and Bristol so well placed for areas of interest. Immaculate and spotlessly clean. Lovely quite quirky place to stay with nice touches as a welcome. Had everything you’d need for a really relaxed stay. And nice to have the outside space too. Highly recommend this place for a couples weekend away.

It was our second stay at the old stable. We feel like home and can’t wait to come back. Gillian is a great host and the house a great location to explore the Cotswolds.

Catherine was a fantastic host and we had a wonderful stay at the property. The views were absolutely stunning. We enjoyed walking around the local area including Cheddar village, Cheddar Gorge and the reservoir. The barn itself had everything we needed and it was very clean and tidy. This is the perfect accommodation in a charming village. The interior is decorated with great taste and is located in an imposing old barn. Everything you need for an extended stay in this beautiful countryside. There are countless footpaths to choose from. Make sure your legs are strong!

Lovely 5 night stay at the cottage with my two boys. It was quiet and peaceful, clean and perfectly equipped for our break. It’s in a great location. We bounced around local castles and walks by day, we cooked, watched films and cosied up by the fire in the evenings. The home baked cake that was left for our arrival made for the perfect add on to our packed lunches each day. Raglan Castle and the Forest of Dean were big hits, as was Symonds Yat. The beds were super comfy, I’ll miss the lovely powerful showers now we’re home, and we had everything we needed. James is a very responsive and helpful host, huge thanks for the early check in and sharing your beautiful space with us.

We had a lovely stay at this cottage. We used it as a base to visit Cheddar Gorge, Bath and Longleat Safari and it was a perfect location for all three. The cottage was well equipped and surrounded by beautiful countryside. We particularly enjoyed watching the cows.

Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for more. I travelled with my 79-year-old mother and myself who has a mobility issue so the fact that it was all on one level suited us to the ground. We also was able to bring our dog Bertie who is blind, who also had the time of his life! He had his independence from the home into the garden, which was so well equipped you couldn’t have asked for more. And there is literally one step into the property and I think he’s sad to be home. It was more than a home away from home, it was better as it was more accommodating than my own home. It was an absolutely wonderful space that accommodated us to attend a family wedding at Orchardleigh House and also gave us the opportunity to visit the amazing surrounding areas for sightseeing. The guide that is offered tells you absolutely everything you need to know. Because of our mobility issues, I would recommend a car as Frome is quite hilly. You couldn’t ask for a better hosts!

Elena and Bernard were the perfect hosts. The Barn was very easy to find, a beautiful peaceful location next to St Andrews Church. Everything was spotless, one of the best equipped kitchens we've had with Air B&B. Such a comfortable bed, plenty of space to put your things away. Beautiful bathroom, lovely hot shower and fluffy towels. We had a problem with the Internet and Bernard came round straight away and sorted it out for us. We enjoyed sitting in the private courtyard as we were lucky with the weather. Would definitely recommend staying here, and hopefully we will again in the future. Absolutely stunning place to stay, beautiful location, very peaceful, the cottage is finished to a high standard, fully equipped kitchen. I will definitely be returning next time I’m in the area. Unfortunately I was on a work trip and didn’t get to explore locally, but would love to return for a peaceful escape with my family.

We thoroughly enjoyed a few nights here, it was so comfortable and calm, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Bed was super comfy in particular. So much to do just a short drive away. We would love to return again!
