Very responsive and kind host. The house was beautiful with an amazing lanai and view of the ocean and sunsets.

Sandra's home was very nice and has a beautiful backyard. We rented the downstairs portion (with the private pool). We really appreciated the extra amenities provided (beach chairs, body boards, wagon, cooler). We used all of these items when we went to the beach. The yar d, fruit trees, and view are immaculate. We were able to pick fresh fruit each morning (star fruit, guava, oranges). This is definitely an experience that you can not replicate at any hotel, our family really enjoyed this. Thank you Sandra for sharing your beautiful home with us!

I only have the best things to say about Joe and Anna as hosts. We visited over the Christmas holiday and they went out of their way to make it special for the occasion (my personal favorite was the Charlie Brown Christmas tree!) They were responsive throughout the trip when we had questions. We came with multiple generations of family, all with various interests and needs. Their place was comfortable for everyone and had everything we could have wanted and more! Everything was as described in their listing. I highly recommend this place and hope to visit again in the future! 🎄

It was everything we wanted and more! Everything we thought we’d need they already had. It’s in a beautiful spot! Being further from town lends itself to having some of the most gorgeous views of the night sky. Plus, the views from the pool are breathtaking (even with vog). A great stay for couples!

We loved everything about our stay here. The neighborhood is quiet, the views are amazing, the home is gorgeous with a great kitchen for cooking, we had everything we needed and more.

We were a family of 4 travelling for several months from Australia - this was one of our favourite Airbnb’s of the trip. The back garden was absolutely beautiful and super relaxing. We saw all types of birds while reading in the backyard. Having seen the hideous Kona we were so happy we booked away from the grime and noise and ended up in this lovely comfortable home - very near to plenty of stores and very well equipped for all our in house cooking. We would happily have stayed longer had we not pre-booked other plans. Thank you - would highly recommend!

I recently stayed at Justin’s Airbnb in Kona, and it was an amazing experience. From the moment we arrived, Justin was incredibly welcoming, offering great recommendations for local activities and making sure we had everything we needed. The house itself was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, creating a perfect island retreat. One of the highlights was the pool – it was pristine and provided the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring the island. The outdoor area was fantastic, with plenty of seating, and we enjoyed several evenings watching the sunset from the lanai. The location in Kona was ideal, with easy access to beaches, dining, and shopping, yet the house felt like a private oasis. We felt truly at home during our stay and couldn’t have asked for a better place to unwind. I highly recommend Justin’s place for anyone looking to experience the best of Kona in comfort and style!

Thank you for hosting us! We enjoyed our stay and appreciated how clean and well-maintained the house was. The location and amenities were great overall. One important note for future guests: while the pool is nice, its floor has a rough texture that could potentially scrape or scratch skin if you're not careful. This might be especially important for families with children. Regarding check-out time: 10 AM feels a bit early, especially when trying to pack up and clean with a family. A later check-out time of 11 AM would be more comfortable for guests and is more standard for most rentals. But the host was very nice and let us stay till 11am, we really appreciated it Despite these minor suggestions, we had a pleasant experience and would recommend this property to others, just with these small notes about the pool surface and check-out timing

Lovely location, thoughtful amenities and a wonderful Lanai, (porch) where we were able to sit and have breakfast or best, view the sunsets every night.

The house was beautiful. Located in a great neighborhood with a really nice porch where we loved to have our meals, look out at the ocean and watch the sunset. Only ten minutes away from a really nice beach and a grocery store right down the road. The house had all we could need for the beach and more including a cart, cooler and beach toys! Paul was always helpful and responded quickly. We really enjoyed our stay and thought the price was a steal!

Great place, especially for a couple on vacation. Nice, stocked kitchen, big bed and bathroom and the whole unit was very clean and spacious. There is also a lovely balcony with a table and stools set up for eating meals. We loved having our morning coffee and evening meals out there. Daniel and Melissa were very friendly and responsive. Location is a bit far from grocery stores, downtown, closest beach but overall amazing place and the view more than makes up for it. Will happily book again in the future!

This was the best Airbnb experience we’ve ever had. Joe was welcoming and extremely helpful when it came to recommendations, surf conditions, and even when we had rental car troubles. It felt reassuring to know someone who really had our back! Also, we had a great time training Jiujitsu with Joe and his team. The home was clean and top-notch aesthetically. It was apparent that Joe takes care of the flora and landscaping surrounding the home as well! We would definitely recommend staying here! Mahalo Joe!

The upstairs was awesome and had great views. There was plenty of room for our family of 13. Location was great and easy to access. Down stairs was good for anyone who can't walk up stairs and is great for wheelchairs. Definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Kona. Thank you Jun

Dragon Makai Hale exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, Cheryl was an outstanding host, providing invaluable tips on local hotspots and must sees around the island. The thoughtful meet-and-greet added a personal touch that made us feel truly welcomed. The home itself was perfectly located—central to everything and easy to navigate from. It was impeccably clean, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable, offering the perfect balance of luxury and relaxation. Without hesitation, 10/10 would stay at Dragon Makai Hale again. It’s the ideal place for anyone looking to experience the best of Kona on the Big Island.

This home was a key piece in the magic of our time on the Big Island! We felt right at home and just endlessly in awe at the beauty, design, and peacefulness of this home. It truly enhanced our island getaway experience, feeling as though we were retreated in the jungle together, but just minutes away from lovely beaches, resorts, and restaurants. The hosts had a nice binder full of recommendations for beaches and restaurants that were all spot on, the home was immaculately clean, really well are just speechless at what a lovely place we were so lucky to experience. We will be back! Only recommendation for renters to know, if you are traveling with friends or family, the bedrooms have walls around them but they do not extend to the ceiling, just a good peace of advice to know as it does remove a level of privacy!

Great set up for a family to have extra space with a kitchen. The host family was fantastic and our kids really enjoyed playing together.

This place is so wonderful! Peaceful neighborhood with lots in walking distance! Pools and hot tubs were great for us on cloudy days, and being walking distance to restaurants and snorkel spots, it was exactly what our family needed! The beds were comfortable (though I wish they had cotton sheets bc it gets a bit warm at night!), the backyard was great for kids, the garage is stocked with everything you could imagine needing for a beach/snorkel day. Jeff and Suzanne really thought of everything here, and it shows! And they happily accommodated our request to have no fragrance cleaning products, which, for a family with allergies, this was super important to us. We would book this again! We did have a few issues with the cleanliness of the dishwasher and washing machine, but they were so quick to address it and make efforts to make things right. This place is worth every penny and made our time in Hawaii really nice.

This house was wonderful; highly, highly recommend. Great location, up the mountain at about 1500 feet. Unobstructed view of the ocean below. House is immaculate, well laid out and fully stocked. Many beach towels, cooler, 6+ beach chairs, and two umbrellas. You will not be disappointed.

Charles is a great host. The house is spacious and comfortable. Everything we need was there, and sufficient. Location is excellent, near town, restaurants, grocery stores, and the airport. We enjoyed our stay very much. Recommended.

Shawn’s place was very nice and accommodating to our last minute stay. It was a smooth check in. She had everything in her house that you could think of or need. I was very impressed.staying in Shawn’s place, it felt like staying in my own home, it was very welcoming and clean. My friends and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

The host were nice and easy to communicate with. Responded quickly to any questions and very helpful. Everything was great. House was as described and felt private with a nice view. The host has done a great job with the house. It’s catered very well to guests staying here. The washer and dryer were so helpful and a great bonus. From hooks on the wall for towels to the basics of what we needed for a short stay it was all well thought out. Also the place is Very Clean. We felt comfortable from the minute we walked in. I would definitely consider staying here again next time. It’s away from the busy part of town but close enough to be convenient to get to. Thanks

Julia’s home was the perfect place to experience the Big Island. Close to excursions and dining. Most importantly, her home was welcoming and comfortable. She went out of her way to make us feel at home. I cannot recommend her home enough.
