Vacation rentals with lake access in Portsmouth

This was our second stay at John's Barn and we couldn't be happier - such a lovely place to stay, it truly feels like a home-away-from-home. The barn is really cozy and is surrounded by nature - this time we even came home to a small herd (maybe 10 or 12) deer who were walking along the road one night in the fog! We often saw deer, rabbits, foxes, and the odd farm cat on our walks around the grounds and along the nearby rambling trails. We don't get back to the UK very often but when we do we love staying at this property. It's very well kept, is in great location, and Bobbie is a lovely, helpful host. We can't wait to come back!

What a beautiful and fabulous place to stay! The whole house was so lovely and very spacious and fantastic location… we would truly love to live there forever! Instructions for everything were so helpful and clear…. Anyone staying there would have a great experience… close to local shops, great pubs with amazing food very nearby and friendly atmosphere in the whole area…to walk straight onto the beach out of the conservatory is just wonderful… thank you for our stay in your gorgeous home…

The mobile home had everything you needed for a short stay. It was very clean, the decor was nice and well-equipped. The location was well maintained but quiet, within reach of the beach and shops.

Beautiful place - extremely well equipped for a family stay. Grounds are brilliant especially if you have children or dogs! Loved the wood burner ! Would recommend and would love to return.

We had a wonderful Christmas at Karen's place! The house was beautiful and really spacious - and Karen had made sure we had everything we needed - including all the pots and pans we needed to cook Christmas lunch for 7 in her lovely kitchen! Could not recommend more highly - it was clean, warm, and comfortable - and in a lovely location with a pub a minute's walk away!

It is a nice place to stay in Southsea. Clean and tidy. Feel home.

Lovely stay at Jim's! Had a slight issue with heating but Jim was quick to respond and sort it out. Clean house with good wifi. Would stay again if we visit the area!

We had a wonderful NewYears stay at the dolls house, Victoria is a great host, very responsive. The bathrooms are better than a five star hotel, the beds are comfortable, no trouble sleeping, even though you are in the town, it is quiet. Plenty of restaurants, cafes and pubs, all of which are a very short distance away. It was the perfect place to stay! The only downside was the lock box, very difficult to get too. I really want to stress though, this is no fault of Victoria’s, the rules of a grade listed building state the lockbox can’t be near the door. Unfortunately for us Victoria was away when we stayed, so was unable to let us in, she really worried about that, but it was just one of those things. We are already talking about going back again, we enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you Victoria, we really appreciate all your hard work!

A delightful weekend stay Yaverland - an easy 20 minute walk down the hill to Sandown and in a quiet holiday park - backing onto beautiful trees and nature. Had a lovely walk along the cliffs and spent the day biking around the surrounding towns. The host made every accommodation for guests - well set up with tea, coffee and biscuits there for you on arrival! The chalet has been very thoughtfully renovated, very cleanly, great wifi and large TV for Olympic viewing. A great getaway! We didn’t have a car as we like walking and biking but would advise a car for the Isle of Wight if here for longer as it’s larger than it looks, and this place is not right in the township. Great communication throughout and would definitely recommend it!

You found us a beautiful place, it was ready for us so quickly and was even more lovely than our original booking. The owner was very friendly, also. It is such a beautiful home, with an outdoor space, a big bed in the main bedroom, beautifully furnished and quiet! We booked the place for my family to stay for the night for my graduation so we didn’t really get to do a lot inside the flat. However, the check in is really easy and they were very helpful and responsive. There’s a phone number to call on if you need to reach them and also an office. I honestly thought the place is located in a very nice location (3-5 mins walk to the beach too). The house and rooms are very clean and looks lovely! Would stay again if needed a place to stay on. Lovely host!

We arrived late on a Friday evening so parking was abit difficult but eventually found a spot a couple of roads away. Don’t let the outside worry you the apartment is as pictures, lovely and clean, warm, cosy aand peaceful. Highly recommend for anyone staying in Portsmouth and walking distance from southsea and gunwahrf keys

Beautiful location, gorgeous apartment and the extras meant a lot, cereal, bread, eggs, tea and coffee. Very clean and comfortable, I would highly recommend.

Lovely place, cosy and very central. Super clear instructions and host was personable and friendly. Wi fi is fine but mob reception terrible although this is no fault of the host. We visited for a wedding but had family in Milford so know the area well. This was perfect for us both and aged parents. Lovely and warm and had everything we needed. Top marks.

Spacious, very comfortable cottage in a beautiful estate in the New Forest, with wildlife all around you. Perfect location from which to explore the area. Sandra welcomed us on arrival and provided a lot of useful information.

This is our second time staying at Amanda's beautiful cottage and we will continue to come back as long as she'll have us. It's spacious, comfortable, is in a great location, and has plenty of parking nearby. Everything is walkable from her place and it is super easy to get to. There are sights, a grocery, and plenty of shopping and dining nearby. As for the place, the kitchen is perfectly appointed, beds are very comfortable and Amanda was even nice enough to leave us a welcome gift in the refrigerator! Thank you! Communication is perfect every step of the way and the unit is super easy to get into. We love coming to Arundel and will be back! Thank you for another amazing stay, Amanda. Hope to see you / the cottage next year.

We had a lovely stay away, the location was superb, the sense of being close to nature was so restoring. The property is walking distance to the Chidham peninsula, one of the most peaceful and unspoilt sections of coastal scenery for miles around. The property was very restful, and very beautiful.

We had an amazing stay at Mily's place! Mily was an exceptional host—friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything we needed. The house itself was incredibly spacious and beautifully decorated with meticulous attention to detail, making it feel like a true home away from home. It was the perfect retreat for our family, and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment. We highly recommend this place to families looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay.

We had a wonderful stay, the cottage was lovely and in a perfect location near to nice restaurants (the red lion was great). The courtyard was really safe for our dog, and the estuary being so close was a huge bonus for taking out our kayak and paddleboard! Couldn’t recommend it more, thank you 😁

We spent a peaceful and relaxing Christmas in Middle Barn. We arrived to find a generous welcome basket of food and a blazing log fire. The surrounding parkland was beautiful and we loved watching all the wildlife. Sophie was a very helpful and responsive host.

We spent 3 lovely nights at Jane’s place, which served as a lovely warm, cozy spot for my family and in-laws. The house was beautifully decorated for Xmas and there was a festive hamper waiting for us on arrival. All 3 bedrooms were very comfortable, each with ensuite bathrooms. Whilst the house is located next to a fairly busy road, we weren’t bothered by the noise and the location was just a short drive to the nearby towns and a selection of good eateries (Rosie Lee House and Daisy Tea Garden make great breakfasts /lunches / cakes). Jane is a responsive host and gave us plenty of tips on where to visit. I’m sure the house also makes a great spot during summertime given the expansive front lawn and bbq set.
