We can't speak highly enough about the place. It's a little haven where the atmosphere and surroundings almost force you to kick back and forget about [almost] everything and just enjoy. The surrounding areas compliment the accommodations, and the local people reflect the laid-back approach to life. With pristine beaches, great food from the local cafes and restaurants through to the weekend markets there is something for everyone here.

The cottage was perfect for our family of four. The kids loved all the treats and thoughtful touches. The location was a couple of minute walk to coffee, restaurants, groceries and the water. And a few minute drive to beautiful beaches. The small pool and hot tub were also great for when it was too cold for the beach.

Perfect spot for a relaxing wekend with friends. We loved how close it was to the beach and the bikes made it so easy to get around Omaha. Kate was super helpful and accommodating.

River Cottage was such a gem! The surroundings were like a jungle, the grounds were beautiful and there was fun activities like board games and kayaks. We were even able to borrow a fishing pole and caught a fish! I enjoyed walking around the farm property and river area. My favorite part was access to a lookout tower off the deck. I made my latte each morning and climbed up there to enjoy it while watching and listening to all the birds. Book this place, it's magical!

Our time at the Shearer’s cottage was absolutely magical. My husband and I stayed with our three children for three nights. We were all utterly delighted when we walked in the door - lots of excited gasps from everyone - the surroundings are gorgeous, the property is thoughtfully appointed and spotlessly clean… far enough from the madding crowd to feel peaceful and secluded, yet still a very convenient drive to Kerikeri and the Bay of Islands. Ian and Anna were very friendly and communicative and made us feel totally welcome. Allow time to make the most of this beautiful place. The dawn chorus is glorious! Make sure you opt in for the spa by the river. We really hope we can visit again. Thank you so much Ian and Anna.

Great spot in the heart of Russell! The villa was lovely. A working spa would have been the cherry on the cake.

It’s our first time in Tutukaka and I’m glad I trusted my gut and decided to book this beautiful cottage. The view from the place is magnificent. We didn’t want to leave because it was so peaceful, it’s just you, the lovely birds and nature. We spent a lot of time by the deck with our books and our dog taking a nap. Gayle has really thought about the guests visiting her place - you’ll have everything you need here. She even has dog bowls which we appreciate as we brought our furgirl with us. We will definitely book this place again - with the lovely experience we had and the excellent hosting of Gayle - 5 star indeed. x

We had a lovely time at your beautiful bach with our fur baby and friends. Amazing views over the countryside and walking distance to the beach. Beds are very comfortable and wonderful outdoor living space. Thank you for the great hospitality and would love to stay again if we were allowed :-)

Fantastic views and space for the price! This is perfect for all types of occasions with a group of family or friends. The host was responsive and we were given clear instructions on everything regarding to the house, check in, directions, recycling, etc! Highly recommended!

The hosts of Songbird Cottage have gone to a lot of trouble to make this place special. So many lovely features, both inside the cottage and around the grounds. One of the best instructions manuals we have encountered, including lots of great recommendations for local walks, attractions and eateries. Top marks.

We have immensely enjoyed our stay here. There is plenty of room for the kids to play and of course a beautiful beach very close to the bach. A lovely place to enjoy the outdoors and spend time together. Also a good location to explore the Far North and come back to a tranquil place at the end of the day.

We had a wonderful relaxing time, despite the wet weather. The space was clean and beautiful with a spacious modern bathroom. Chris even had chocolate and a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived later than check-in time. She was friendly and responsive throughout our stay. We'd stay again as it is in a great location between Lang's Beach and Waipu Cove. Thanks for having us, Chris.

Very nice and comfortable studio. In the morning, you'll for sure enjoy the view on the lovely garden and the Bay. It is closed to Paihia so you can take ferries and explore the Bay of islands. I personally went to Russell. Very cool! Calm, lovely and the Long Beach is a nice spot.

We stayed 10 days at The Miner’s Cottage and honestly, I could have stayed forever. The cottage was an absolute gem - quaint, comfortable, quiet and private and best of all, within walking distance of a fabulous beach and ice cream shop! There is so much to do in the Far North and this cottage is a lovely place to base yourself in while exploring all the attractions this part of the country has to offer. Bachman was always responsive with any questions we had. I cannot recommend this cottage highly enough and would definitely stay again.

We loved the little cottage! It had everything we needed. It had lovely personal touches. Grateful we could bring Roxy our little dog! Flowers were gorgeous when we walked in and Jasmijn was such a friendly gracious host (Thank you for the lovely gift basket of goodies too) I now love Kombucha! It was also nice to have an inside / outside fire to use! Thank you Jasmijn and Matt we will matt!

We didn’t want to leave! Your warm welcome on our arrival, accompanied by a gorgeous handwritten note, warm sourdough bread, fresh milk and freshly baked walnut chocolate chip biscuits, perfectly epitomised our stay at Cowshed Cottage! We loved the well-thought-out decor, the delightful linens on the comfy bed, and all the welcoming nooks that begged us to enjoy them with a hot drink and a good book in such a peaceful setting. The Cowshed Cottage, and you both, are the blissful warm hug that had us breathing deeply and releasing any stress we didn’t know we needed. One night was not enough! With a longer stay, we might just feel inclined to try out the spectacular gym, although I think cosying down with a glass of something delicious and another book might win out. We can’t wait to return and we will definitely be staying longer next time. Thank you both again for everything.

Perfect stay. We were a couple with a 5-year-old child. The cottage is perfectly equipped in all areas: bedding, kitchen utensils, dishes, bathroom, laundry, there are even some toys; everything is there. The environment is nice with a lovely garden. I highly recommend the cottage. Thank you

Beautiful cottage in a peaceful location just out of Whangarei. It has a full oven and microwave so easy for self-catering. Bridget was a great host - very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend
