It felt cozy and welcoming, and we truly appreciated all the thoughtful details that made it feel extra special. The little extras were such a lovely surprise and really added to our experience. Our time at the Shearer’s cottage was absolutely magical. My husband and I stayed with our three children for three nights. We were all utterly delighted when we walked in the door - lots of excited gasps from everyone - the surroundings are gorgeous, the property is thoughtfully appointed and spotlessly clean… far enough from the madding crowd to feel peaceful and secluded, yet still a very convenient drive to Kerikeri and the Bay of Islands. Ian and Anna were very friendly and communicative and made us feel totally welcome. Allow time to make the most of this beautiful place. The dawn chorus is glorious! Make sure you opt in for the spa by the river. We really hope we can visit again. Thank you so much Ian and Anna.

Fantastic spot , our third visit, great views and very peaceful. M-Lux was extremely generous with early check in and all day late check out. This makes a huge difference to a short stay, would highly recommend.

Sandra's home is a well equipped and comfortable suite. Located in Jack's Bay near a beautiful walk to the beach, it is a 25 minute drive to historic Russell. Great value and and a welcoming host.

The views were exceptional in all directions. Listening to and watching the birds was a special treat. Daily walks from the entrance to the property were along a high ridge, offering dramatic views and the entertainment of curious cattle walking up to the fence line added to the atmosphere. The view from the hot tub and decks overlooking the bay and boat basin were really special. Got to meet Lee, the farm caretaker and had some great conversations about the property and area. He had three good shepherd dogs to ride along with him and move cattle from one paddock to another.

Great place in a very peaceful valley. The outdoor furniture and the hot the on the deck is such a great feature. Highly recommend to couples or a family.

What a fabulous weekend getaway! The house provided a lovely retreat feeling, super tidy, all the amenities, private, quiet and that pool!!! AMAZING :) Our group had a fantastic time here and would stay again. Its a little out of town but close to the supermarket and only a 5 minute drive to the local pub. Modern home, comfy couches and beds, a friendly host - all super easy! 5 stars, would recommend!
