Cottage vacation rentals in New Zealand

My partner and I had a great stay at Michelles place. The scenery was beautiful and we loved having the sheep to look at while sitting on the deck-it was very picturesque. The place has everything you could need for a romantic getaway and we appreciated all the extras like the chocolates and wine. My partner appreciated the sauna, we thought that was a great bonus. We also loved the couch seat On the deck. Lounge and bedroom is set up beautifully. We would 100% come back again

We are already planning a second visit to Julie and Dean’s place. The bach was so comfortable and clean and such an easy check in process. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place, or Havelock North, to others.

We can't speak highly enough about the place. It's a little haven where the atmosphere and surroundings almost force you to kick back and forget about [almost] everything and just enjoy. The surrounding areas compliment the accommodations, and the local people reflect the laid-back approach to life. With pristine beaches, great food from the local cafes and restaurants through to the weekend markets there is something for everyone here.

Fabulous cottage. Loved staying here. The bed was super comfortable and the cottage had everything we needed. Everything was clean and well presented. It was all great. Tania was very helpful and friendly.

Nicollette’s place was the perfect getaway—serene, beautiful, and unbelievably peaceful. The sunsets were absolutely breathtaking, and the whole space just had this calm, grounding energy. The house itself was clean and tidy, with super comfortable beds and a pristine kitchen that made us feel right at home. The spacious grounds were amazing to walk around, and in warmer weather, you could just throw down a towel or mat and read on the grass. Loved the little details too—plenty of fridge and freezer space, great WiFi, and even a lawn game to keep us entertained. Plus, Nicollette was an incredible host, super responsive to any random questions we had. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place to unwind for a weekend.

I highly recommend booking the hot tub and having a soak while the sunsets

Lovely character cottage. We felt very comfortable. The hot tub was great after a swim in the river. We even managed to fit in one of the puzzles provided 😊

Perfect! Catherine is a generous host. The cottage has everything you need and more for an overnight or extended stay. Warm, comfortable, light and airy. Bikes available and laundry. A lovely place to get away. We spent three nights and were so comfortable we did not want to leave.

Great location with views of Lake Middleton from the lounge and 1 bedroom. Loved all the decor touches to make the cottage live up to it's "Snowshoe" name. Perfectly clean and entry was simple (even in the dark) when we arrived. Even though we had a lot of rain during our stay, the washing machine and dryer meant we weren't impeeded - just as easy as being at home. Fully equipped kitchen. Would love to stay again when we are back in the Aoraki region!

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Helen. Our accommodation was warm, cozy and charming. If you’re looking for a quiet get away with a bit of nature I definitely recommend. We were well looked after and even got a cute visit from their cat. We didn’t feel like we missed out on anything at all, Helen pretty much thought of everything. Hope you can get to experience it too!!

A wonderfully cozy cottage! What a great find! The cottage is comfortable, spacious and clean. I felt right at home. Dean and Annie were very friendly hosts, who took the time to chat with me and introduce me to their family and pets. I can highly recommend staying here :)

We had a fantastic stay at Jody’s Airbnb, it was very close to Franz Josef town and the hot spa was perfect after a long day of travel and our heli hike at Fox Glacier which was only a short drive away.

Great bungalow with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Was great for kids and dogs.

What a great location & view! The beach cottage was cozy& Gail is very friendly & responsive😀 walkable to a really neat trail too.

Wendy was really lovely, and the location right across from the beach was great. The house is charmingly dated, but was spacious and had everything we needed. We'd be happy to stay here again if we're ever in the area!

Great private location with beautiful view of country side. Loved the walking trails behind the accomodation and close to whitianga, hot water beach and cathedral cove.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cottage! It’s an intimate stay, great for two couples for a night in with board games. It’s super close to the shops and is surrounded by native trees and birds. Thank you hosts ☘️🫶

Rustic, old-world charm set in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. The cottage is spacious with very comfortable beds. Basic kitchen but had what we needed. Clean bathroom with a bath and nice living area. BBQ and basic outdoor furniture with views of the fields. Perfect location for a weekend in Martinborough, we will definately stay here again and would recommend it.

Absolutley stunning cottage in an equally stunning location. Pete was a brilliant host and their dog is a treasure. Would highly recommend.

We spent a wonderful long weekend in Shona's cute little cottage! The surrounding landscapes were gorgeous, we were visited but a lot of lovely birds. From the little fireplace to the outdoor bath with a view, recommended takeaway pizza, cute memorabilia and privacy and quiet of the place, I got everything I needed from this weekend away before our baby comes. we even took some beautiful maternity photos around the garden! Thank you Shona for this little slice of heaven :)

The Cottage was perfect after a tramping weekend. My friends and I were able to wash our damp clothes, hang them up to dry, have a fresh shower and feel right home quickly. We went to one of the lovely local wineries and back with indian take away, before a game of battle sticks in the garden and then a comfys nights sleep! it was great, thanks Duncan.
