Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Nicoya Peninsula

Casa Gisela was everything we’d hoped it would be. We’d never been to Costa Rica before, and we’re so excited to get the chance to go. When we arrived to Casa Gisela, the first thing that we did was head to the backyard to see the view - the view shown in the Airbnb pictures was the main reason that we had booked the house. We were absolutely blown away! The view was magnificent, beyond our expectations. We spent many of our days sipping coffee on the back patio to just watch the view of the lake and to watch all of the beautiful birds (particularly an adorable little hummingbird that has claimed ownership of the nectar in the hummingbird feeder - he was such a blast to watch). The house was clean and comfortable, and had everything that we needed for a great stay. We loved our time at Casa Gisela, and highly recommend it. It was a pleasant and peaceful stay that we will never forget.

Beautiful amenities, breathtaking views, nicely decorated, fully stocked kitchen , bathrooms and other necessary utilities, warm hospitality, great local recommendations. Perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely stay. The location is out of the way and quiet. Good for relaxing, less good if you are looking for tourist excursions. Steven was great at helping us find excursions anyway. My family of 5 had a wonderful time.

Absolutely beautiful. Loved the well thought out design of the house. Stunning views from every room! We saw tons of Toucan's and other birds, an anteater, and a few monkeys. Great hike to the waterfall...really appreciated the high water boots and walking sticks provided! We rafted and ziplined while staying in El Castillo---so fun! Have to have a 4 x 4.

Amazing sunsets! Great place to stay- beautiful surroundings! The house was great- we are a family of 7 and we all fit. The hot tub and net were so fun! Fairly Close to Selvatura park, grocery stores etc.. ( they are down the hill) The view alone is worth it. Jessy was very responsive and helpful.

We had an excellent stay here in the Jungle! The tiny home is well constructed and well kept. The scenery is beautiful with mountain and ocean views . Vincent communicated well and recommended the best routes for traveling, food and shopping. If you’re looking for a some off road adventure along with a peaceful getaway in the middle of Mother Nature this is the place ! I would definitely recommend to others ! Puravida !

Great place to stay, incredible view from the balcony and very spacious.

This home is beautiful and the location on the beach is amazing. There was a learning curve to get the air conditioning working properly which was likely user error on our part. Bring a soft cooler to carry cold beverages down to the beach so you dont need to run up and down the stairs.. Despite the minor criticisms above i would highly recommend this place. Thank you for allowing us to stay!

We had a great one-night stay. We could easily have enjoyed several days there. The view was stunning! We had great suggestions by our host as well. Highly recommend!

Teako House was a really great stay, incredible value for the money, and a truly local experience in a real tico neighborhood that is located in a lush peaceful valley. The apartment was simple but surprisingly spacious and upgrades have been made since these pictures so I found things a bit more spruced up than I expected! From the little terrace you can see the surrounding teak farm and watch the clouds roll by (literally, you're in a cloud forest sometimes!). And the host Juan Carlos is a super nice local surfer and business owner who is stoked to offer up recommendations, etc. if you want them. I had to get some work done during my stay so I particularly appreciated the fast wifi and gorgeous relaxing nature view from the dining table that I used as my desk.

This condo is in the most beautiful location, perfect view of the volcano from the balcony!! The space was clean and comfortable beds and furniture. Fully equipped kitchen, big bathroom with large jet tub, and in suite washer and dryer. The host had great communication. Responded quickly late in the evening to our booking request to let us stay in his beautiful place, saving us from the original nightmare Airbnb be booked for that night! I can’t thank the host enough for the responsiveness and the truly wonderful condo right on Lake Arenal!! P.S. Completely ignore the person that left the low rating review about this place. The person should be ashamed to leave a low review for such an incredible place!

Wow! This was an incredible base to explore Arenal/La Fortuna. The home itself is spacious, comfortable and well-appointed. It has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The interior is a little dated, but everything is well-cared for. There are multiple lovely outdoor spaces to sit out and enjoy the panoramic views of the lake. The real showstopper are the grounds though. Just taking a walk around the property was astounding. There is an incredible diversity of flowers. The sheer variety of birds we saw at the house was greater than a guided tour we took in a different area known for its birds. It was truly memorable and may be one of the loveliest gardens I've ever seen. The location is great. The town of Nuevo Arenal is cute and has a nice variety of services, and La Fortuna (and all of its activities) is just a short drive away. It was a little confusing to find initially, but once we knew where it was, coming and going was convenient. The host was very responsive via text.

The house was great but you will need a golf cart if you want to run back and forth to the downtown area. The walk is nice the first time but 3 to 4 times a day is too much.

Casa del Mono was easily one of the nicest AirBnB’s we have ever stayed in. There are so many parts of the property to explore, and watching the colorful birds from the deck was a great way to start each day. Esteban thought of everything a guest could want, and then some. A short drive to Fortuna and a variety of activities, I recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle to help navigate the road up to the house. We would recommend this property to everyone visiting this part of Costa Rica in a heartbeat, and hope to return one day.

This was the most amazing air bnb i have ever stayed in. The hosts were so friendly and helpful - I felt very reassured by them the whole way through. The house is amazing with wildlife and jungle all around - it truely is epic. The bed is so comfy and the outdoor shower is just awesome. I can’t sing this place’s praises high enough. Marbella is BEAUTIFUL and, as Giselle said when we arrived, “the real Costa Rica”, I couldn’t have put it better myself. Despite the challenging roads (which would have been dead easy in a 4x4) it was made simple by both hosts. Even when we asked about the roads to our next destination, they had so much advice! Please come here and experience this once in a life time home.

Fabulous place. It is a little remote; at the time we were there was the only habitable house in the subdivision. But this gives it privacy and it is surrounded by jungle, so we had many animals and birds we could see from the house. Home is very large and high end; the outdoor space in particular is awesome - lots of shaded seating, but sunny options and a huge pool. This part of Costa Rica is not very developed; the roads are rough with top speeds of 40 km/hr but potholes that slow you to near zero. Also a few minor river crossings when we were there. All easily handled by our 4x4 Fortuner, and we saw many doing the same with lesser SUVs. Steven was an excellent host with clear instructions and made sure our visit was comfortable. He was very easy to reach and took care of a few minor issues quickly. The basement has two small beds in one room and a king in the other. You need to go outside to get from this area to the main house, so may not be ideal for smaller children.

Amazing home and exceptional host, Marie-Ann is this best host I have had thus far, very helpful and accommodating helped plan a very special surprise. Home is exactly as mentioned close to the strip and excursions by car beautiful scenic views

A spectacular house!! Very well equipped and clean. Glenda was super communicative. It's as described. As a recommendation, if you go with Waze, first put the center of Monteverde and then the house, otherwise you may give them a path that only 4x4
