Cottage vacation rentals in Island of Hawai'i

It is a comfy house in the woods. Not spectacular and the garden is OK, but plenty of room and very nice full, well-equipped kitchen and a full-sized bedroom. Two full bathrooms was not necessary, but nice to have. The treefrogs sang loudly most of the night, so we kept the windows open. We had a lovely stay. Lots of flyers for services all around the island.

This place is beautiful, We loved the cute layout of the house and it has an amazing view of the ocean!!!! The place was spotless and very welcoming. The kitchen was well stocked. There was a cooler and 2 beach chairs available when we arrived. The only downside was the distance to Kona at 1hour and 15 min. You will need to rent a car for this house. The driving is slow so it takes time to get anywhere on the island. Albert did a great job with recommendations. Be sure to check out 2 step. I would not recommend this house for more than 2 adults and 2 or 3 children unless you are ok with a packed house as it is cute but small. Overall we would stay again. Todd was a great host love this place, would recommend if you are looking for 1-2 day at volcano national park, also love the hot hub!

We had an amazing stay at Tracy's place in volcano. The pictures don't do the property justice, the landscaping and jungle surroundings made it so peaceful. We loved soaking in the hot tub and listening to the rain fall as the coqui frogs were singing. Tracy was very kind and responsive with any issues we had which were next to none. I'd recommend this home to anyone looking for a great place to stay near volcano village.

Jason & Billie were the best hosts! Their beautiful cottage exceeded our expectations. It was immaculate and spotless! There were everything that we needed, plus more. We vacay a couple of times a year in Hawaii, and have stayed at many wonderful condos and homes. Jason & Billie’s property is by far, the best! Jason was very responsive and extremely thoughtful. He was always asking us, if we needed anything. We appreciated all the little things in the house. Very convenient location too. Approximately 15 minutes from Kona Airport, Costco and Walmart. And like 1/2 an hour to Waikoloa Beach & Queen’s Marketplace, where shops and restaurants are. We had a wonderful time at Jason & Billie’s home sweet home. Amazing location, beautiful cabin, lush nature, and all the tasteful details… this place has it all! We loved it so much we were about to go back a week later again!

This cottage is perfect for a couple!! It is so peaceful and relaxing. The home is roomy without being too big for an intimate setting. Caroline and Scott have thought of everything!! Beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, snorkel gear, and towels to name a few. I cannot say enough good things about this place. It is about a 20 minute scenic drive to downtown or some amazing beaches. We were also extremely happy to find the rainbow eucalyptus trees right by the property after looking all of the island for them. Would highly recommend ❤️

We absolutely loved this place. Secluded, well furnished, really nice bathroom, the thick towels and bathrobes were a bonus. We would definitely stay here again. Looking forward to the next adventure.

We loved our stay at the ZEN Retreat and its surrounding beauty. Very peaceful and quiet, and the outdoor shower was the perfect way to rejuvenate after a day of adventure at the Volcanoes NP. Comfortable bed, super soft fluffy towels, and a well equipped kitchen. Andy was a very responsive and helpful host. We’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend this beautiful retreat!

We bailed on our first rental when the ceiling fixture fell (!) and were delighted this cottage was available even for our late night check-in. The steps weren’t a big issue, especially as they led to a gorgeous garden walkway to our cottage. Communication was great as was this roomy, clean cottage. Would come back for sure!

We stayed at this charming cottage in Hilo during a difficult time, as our son was recovering from a critical car accident nearby. Jason was incredibly kind and accommodating, which made such a difference for us. The cottage was very clean, surrounded by beautiful nature, and filled with lovely Hawaiian artwork that added a special touch. It’s also conveniently close to the hospital and downtown Hilo, making it easy to get wherever we needed to go. The layout is great for a family as the living room is separate from bedrooms. We’re so grateful for Jason’s hospitality and the peaceful environment this cottage provided during such a challenging time. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Hilo!

Beautiful bungalow! Spacious and nice big kitchen. Convenient to all. We rented a car, but it is close enough to walk to the downtown area. Very centrally located to drive to various activities. Responsive and friendly host.

Ka Hale Malie( The Peaceful House) This Airbnb is a hidden gem for those seeking peace and tranquility. Located in a serene area, it offers a quiet escape with the soothing sounds of nature. The information book provided was invaluable, making it easy to plan our days. The house itself was full of character and unique features, adding to the overall charm and ambiance. The spacious living area and beautiful deck provided ample space to relax, perfect spot for enjoying our morning coffee or evening cocktails. With a car, it's an ideal hub for exploring the Big Island. Just 30 minutes from Hilo airport, it's easy to find and located in a safe, friendly neighborhood. Close to the coast and great hikes, it's the perfect getaway. The features of the house and beautiful garden make it a place we'd love to return to. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway on the Big Island. Mahalo,

Autumn was so amazing and pleasant to use during our whole AirBnB reservation. We ended up not staying so to several recommendations about the area. When we informed Autumn she went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and wanted to provide us reassurance that her home was safe. We still need up getting an other AirbNb, but just to make use feel comfortable!! This home is very cute and looks just like the pictures and Autumn makes sure you feel as part of her Ohana!

Volcano Mist Cottage was magical. Nestled in the rainforest, we enjoyed the beautifully decorated and super comfortable home, the bird song, the relaxing jacuzzi, the fireplace. Every need was accounted for, including snacks, information about the area, solid wifi service. Located an easy drive from Volcano Park, I can't recommend staying here enough. I wish we could have stayed longer and definitely want to come back!

Me and my daughter had a wonderful time at Connie’s cottage!! There was beautiful nature and a very big tropical garden. Many different kind of plants, trees and flowers. The cottage inside is very spacious for two people with many needed supplies . Thank you, Connie, you are a great host! We hope we will come back next year🙂

Exactly what we wanted. Private, beautiful house in the foothills with all the amenities we needed. Particularly appreciated the pack and play that was set up on arrival.

Had everything we needed to have a great vacation in Kona

I have no words to say what say that would seem adequate enough or able to describe my beautiful experience in this cottage. I went to Hawaii to visit my daughter who will be there for around six months. I did not think I would fall in love with it, but the ability to experience Hawaii in this cottage, and in this area known as Captain Cook was part of the experience more than I could hope for. Megan.’s cottage could not be more accurately described and she might’ve actually left out how fabulous it really is. I would highly recommend the area the cottage and the experience because that’s what it truly was..

This was our second stay at The Mango Farm (Bohemian Retreat) and we hope to be back!!! This chill Airbnb is in a great, quiet location. Heather is so easy to work with and everyone on the farm is very friendly, especially Tiger Lily who has a special place in our hearts <3

Very clean, super comfortable bedding, and awesome shower. What more could you ask for? How about convenience, a well-stocked kitchen (even with a rice cooker) and plenty of fresh towels. Great stay with plenty of privacy!

Very lovely cottage! Love the surroundings and how cozy it is at night!

We had a great stay with Cheri. We were staying in the tiny house as a couple and therefore used the bigger bed in the roof. That was really cosy. It was amazing sitting in front of the house and looking for stars. The bathroom could be reached by walking some steps outside the house and was very clean. The hot outside shower was amazing! Electricity for charging phones and laptops was absolutely sufficient. Thanks a lot! We would love to come back!
