Absolute Gem!! This has to be one of the most cute cabins we’ve ever rented! The cabin is just perfect for 2, and is very well appointed. Gorgeous inside and the property around it is like a fairy tale filled with beautiful flowers, plants & trees. Let the rain tapping on the roof and the frogs serenade you to sleep. Perfectly located to allow you to explore the island during the day, come back for an early evening nap and get up to see the volcano lava flows at night! Amazing place and excellent host. Do not hesitate in booking this.

Lovely place. Very clean and island modern style. Facing the ocean with beautiful views. The host had put together a great list of things to do and restaurants nearby. Very courteous and friendly host. The property is located at the end of a small unpaved road and you wonder if it’s the right way. But once you get inside their gate, it’s just different and beautiful.

A covered entryway leads to a serene outdoor space, adorned with lush greenery. A stylish rug sits at the entrance, while a comfortable seating area is visible in the background, inviting relaxation amidst the nature surroundings.

Susan's place was perfect for us while visiting Volcano park, less than a 10 minute drive away. The private room/bath of Airbnb is within a large home with multiple other Airbnb's W/access to shared lanai, living & dining rooms. Breakfast served daily (eggs, bacon, pancakes, juice, tea, coffee) the cook is delightful, shared suggestions about local attractions. Host was also very responsive and helpful. Property is surrounded by gardens, flowers. Locked gate at driveway for security. Tea, coffee, Non-hawaii residents should note: The location for multiple Airbnb's in this area are listed as in 'Volcano' but they are actually in 'Puna' in my opinion, a less desirable neighborhood. This Airbnb is in VOLCANO, a little community with old Hawaii charm, 30-40 mins from Hilo. Coffee, tea, honey, creamer provided in our private room, filtered water on lanai. Bonus-portable faux fire place for heating at night! Comfortable mattress, good quality down comforter/duvet, plenty pillows....CLEAN!

Nice place to stay, very close to the airport. Easy to find and easy check-in and out. Just stayed the night but was wonderful to sleep in a nice bed after a long flight that was nicely done up. One suggestion is to maybe get a area rug for the floor in the living room. Floor quite hard.

The stay is 8min away from National Volcano Park. If you are planning 2 day’s visit to Volcano park, you can consider this. There is list of restaurants , if want to order food at home. We went to Volcano house for dinner as it was just 8 min away. I would recommend this stay. John also suggested some nearby places to eat food. This is a remote place as it is near the entrance of National volcano park but it is peaceful.

The place was beautiful and clean, it looked exactly like the pictures. It was nice to get away from the city and retire to a small town. Pretty much everything in town was closed for the two days we were there, but that was fine. The shared kitchen wasn’t a problem at all and it was nice to have yogurt and bagels in the morning before a day of hiking around. The location was a very quaint small strip of town, and it was quiet and peaceful at night. Cody sent clear instructions for checking in and check out, and we didn’t communicate much beyond that. Overall it was everything we needed and expected.

Nice, quiet stay with a restaurant on the property. No complaints! But it’s probably worth noting that there was a $40 charge at check-in that was not included in the original booking fee (the lady who checked us in was not sure the purpose of this charge but said she thought it was “taxes or something”).

Beautiful grounds, peaceful lodge. Convenient to grab a meal at the restaurant at the lodge (which was delicious) and close to volcanos. The staff were all kind and welcoming. We especially loved the hot tub and cleanliness of everything! We were driving in last minute and booked on short notice. I also called the lodge to confirm the reservation just to be sure. Highly recommend for all in one place ease!

We were in Hilo for the marathon. Chris was thoughtful in how he designed and built this beach house and his partner contributed some beautiful design elements as well. Really, the pics do not do it justice. The inn feels very private and has a gated entry and the entire property is enclosed with beautiful fencing. Directly behind the inn is the Onekahakaha Beach Park, so out the back gate is just a few steps across a small portion of the park parking lot and you’re on the beach. The suites on that side of the inn have an oceanfront view. We had the garden view room and it was very peaceful and fun watching the variety of birds in the morning. It was nice to have air conditioning, as it starts getting muggy in March! Loved the shampoo and lotion!! Chris made check-in easy and told us interesting stories about Hawaii, things to do and the best restaurants. They offer pilates on Saturdays and salsa dancing sometimes, too! Thanks, Chris! We enjoyed our visit! ☺️

The gentleman that was cleaning out cabin when we arrived (check in was late, but he was busy helping another guest 😊), was very kind and informative. Quite a few beaches were in walking distance, where you could wade in little pools, or walk out on the small cliffs and see whales! The a/c worked great, which was a nice relief after a long day of hiking. The cabin was a great place to come back to and relax after a long hot day of adventures!

Sandford is an excellent host and communicates well. When he didn't have what we had requested he was ready with a suitable substitute and allowed us the choice on whether to switch our reservation criteria. I like being offered solutions, not just "no." And, the accommodation was very nice.

A modern room features a spacious bed adorned with crisp white linens and decorative pillows. Natural light flows through large windows overlooking lush greenery. A small sitting area is present, and local artwork enhances the warm wood accents throughout the space.

We stayed at Volcano Village Estates on 3/23/2025, our stay was spectacular. We were maybe 6 minutes away from the National Park, and then 25 minutes for a major grocery store. This spot is perfect for us you want to go to the NP at night to watch the lava (if there is any). John was extremely welcoming and attentive to all of our questions and issues. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this for while staying here in volcano.

We spend a lot of time in Hawaii and always stay at a resort. This time we opted to try a new vacation spot and we are glad we did! This was a beautiful place. The grounds are breathtaking and the hospitality was wonderful!! We highly recommend that you try your stay here.

I was able to check in at midnight for one night stay after volcano eruption viewing. Host gave clear instructions about late check in. Room was nice with comfortable beds. We didn't get enough time to enjoy the jacuzzi but had a nice morning walk in the area.

We loved our stay here! It was super clean, quaint, and had everything we needed for our short stay. Cody was responsive and proactive with instructions around check in and any additional needs. The area is beautiful and tucked away but still nearby to Hilo. My only feedback is that our room was very bright at night due to the street lights, and the curtains were very sheer, so bring a sleeping mask!

This Airbnb was great, clean, modern, a wonderful shared kitchen on the 1st floor stocked with breakfast and water etc. It’s located in the cutest little town near Akaka Falls. It’s about 10-15 miles north of Hilo. The town is only about 1 block long and shops close at 5pm. Go to The Hive for breakfast!
