A great little place to unwind and disconnect. Great views, fully equipped kitchen and a great hot tub. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing stay at Ulrich’s cabin! Spacious and clean with an incredible view. The cabin stayed really well heated and cosy. The hot tub was a lovely addition and was hot throughout the duration of our stay + ample towels. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights from the cabin, it’s far enough away from the city and light pollution so just hope for a clear night! Really good location to access Reykjavík and also join routes like the golden circle whilst still secluded and peaceful. We stayed in March with lots of snow so might be easier to get up road and sloping drive with 4x4. Thank you very much to our lovely hosts!

Though both Google & Apple Maps tried to get us to enter the neighborhood the wrong way (Pay attention--there are two entrances, & you want the one with the blue sign a bit to the west.), everything was great once we got that sorted. The space is small but perfect for two people, and the location is amazing and quiet, yet close to nearby villages and places like Gullfoss and Geysir. At the cabin, the only real sounds are of nature--from the birds to the nearby waterfalls--and the hot tub and deck were lovely. Note that there is only a small fridge, with no freezer, and there is no oven, simply an air fryer and outdoor grill. Grocery shop accordingly, as we did. I definitely recommend hiking back to the falls behind the cabin, as well as heading down the road a bit to see Bruarfoss. The blue water of both is absolutely beautiful! Finally, Hjörtur was responsive to questions before and during our trip, and it was a great visit. I would stay here again for sure.

We had a wonderful holiday at Sara's house. The house is warm, cosy and spacious, and the view and surroundings are spectacular. Sara was very communicative and helpful throughout.

Highly recommend this place. You can take a rest after long trip or escape from the city in peace and quiet place! There is everything what you need to spend the best time. The owners are amazing people friendly, nice, and they take good care of this house. This makes this place so unique. We gonna back there again for sure :)

One of the best Airbnb’s we’ve ever stayed at. Andrés was so kind and accommodating and had great recommendations, the cottage was charming with incredible views and in a great location. Everything was so clean and well organized, will absolutely be recommending this place to anyone we know traveling to Iceland! One of my favorite stays ever. We hope to return again and again!

Elín’s “house of happiness” is nothing short of a dream come true! My husband and I loved every single second at this incredible secluded cabin outside of Selfoss and already dreaming of our next trip back. Elín is a warm and accommodating host, you won’t find a lovelier and more thoughtful host out there. And don’t get us started on the outdoor shower! It has the perfect temperature and pressure! Such a lovely and cosy place to stay! The accommodation was spotless, beautifully maintained and very comfortable. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing getaway.

Nice place, as described and pictured. We liked that it was already warm when we arrived, the water pressure in the shower is great, and the cooking basics (oil, salt, pepper) were provided. And we got to see the northern lights directly from the cabin!

We really enjoyed our stay here in this one of a kind, unique accommodation! The cabin had what we needed for our stay and we were able to rest easily. We had clear skies both night and saw amazing northern lights from our window and just outside. Amazing!!!

We enjoyed our stay: it was one of the best equipped kitchens we came across during our trip. The outdoor shower was unique and very refreshing. We also appreciated the soft lighting options in the cabin. Both Birna and Pall were very friendly to chat with. We would definitely stay here again!

A beautiful little cabin in a gorgeous area with stunning views. I used this as my home base from which to explore the Golden Circle. The cabin was clean and tidy, the kitchen had all the basics, and there were some lovely touches including chocolate bars, some seltzer, a full carton of milk and cereal. And the heated towel rack was an incredible luxury that I used every day! Sylvia was not there and did not respond to my message telling her what time I would arrive, but her very nice and helpful husband Gylfi greeted me when I arrived and gave me a tour. He also came out to say goodbye when I left and we had a nice chat. I would like to have used the hot tub but it wasn't especially clean. I ended up at the nearby hot pot Secret Lagoon anyway, which was great, so it was not a big loss.

This place is fantastic and idyllic, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. After a long drive from Akureyri to the south, we simply landed in a paradise - that's how the place affected us! Hidden among trees and lots of flowers, beautifully equipped and with a great terrace in front ! We will remember these three nights for a long time! Eidur is very nice and helpful and responded immediately and gave some good tips on what else we can see. We were very satisfied and can only be grateful and recommend it! Really a paradise!

We got to pet the horses and see the northern lights in a cozy cabin all to ourselves.

We had an incredible stay at this cabin! The views were absolutely stunning—like something out of a postcard. The host was super helpful and gave us some great local recommendations, including horseback riding at Laxnes Horse Farm and a visit to Hvammsvík Hot Springs, which was just a 30-minute drive away. We also went snorkeling at the Silfra Fissure, another unforgettable experience not too far from the cabin. The location is very peaceful and secluded, so we’d definitely recommend picking up groceries ahead of time and enjoying meals at the house. The hot tub was a huge highlight—perfect for soaking under the stars! A couple things to note: there isn’t a microwave, which would’ve been a helpful addition, and the hot water had that classic Icelandic sulfur smell, which took some getting used to. Still, this place was an easy 5/5. We’d absolutely stay here again!

If you're looking for a serene place to stay in the southeastern region of Iceland, this cabin is perfect. It's in a peaceful, remote location surrounded by nature—exactly what we were hoping for. The cabin was spotless, cozy, and well-equipped for a comfortable stay. It truly felt like our own little hideaway. The owner was incredibly kind and responsive. We requested an extra blanket and sheet, and they provided them right away, which we really appreciated. The cabin is also just a 15-minute drive from Höfn, where you'll find a large supermarket and a few great restaurants. We would absolutely stay here again!

Here you get what was described. Perfect for 2 people, also quite possible for 3 adults. Road traffic very low. The neighboring lake is not within walking distance. The landlord is very friendly.

We originally had issues with electricity but Byrnja moved us into a neighboring cabin because of this that was even fancier than we originally stayed at with no cost. Communication was a little lacking but place was amazing and view was way better than shown in the pictures

Had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings! In addition, the host always helps you quickly with questions and everything was present in the cottage to get through your days. The basic articles were already present and the cottage is wonderful. The bedroom at the top in the crawl space was very narrow. So if you come with 4 people, keep in mind that it is quite narrow and climb to get to this sleeping area. Reach was also poor in the cottage and no wifi. All these points were no problem for us and enjoyed it immensely and would definitely recommend to everyone!
