House vacation rentals in Holbox

This place is an absolute gem! It’s not necessarily close to the city center but that’s exactly what we wanted so we were good with it. The house was just like it looks like in the pictures. We spent most of our time in the rooftop pool. The host was great in helping us get checked in and recommending some great places to eat and things to check out. Manuel is the maintenance man on property and was immediately on top of any issue we had (which wasn’t many). The only issue we had was the occasional lack of running water, but we learned that was an island issue not a Casa Mar issue. They recommended Christian as our taxi driver and man, he did not disappoint. Take care of him and my man will take care of you! There’s nobody on the island he doesn’t know. We loved Casa Mar and would definitely come back!

Great, spacious house in an amazing location. Just a few minutes walk from the beach, and less than a 10 min walk to town center. Very private and safe. Had a few minor issues with the house, but they were addressed promptly. We appreciated the recommendation for transportation from Cancun, the access to beach chairs, the beach towels, and fresh fruit and water. Tons of closet space. We will be back for sure!

This house was brilliant, very clean, great condition, spectacular views, gorgeous rooftop pool with sunset views! The host was really helpful with local tips and communicated easily via Whats App so it was easy to get in touch for anything we needed. Its a about a 25 mins walk into the heart of town but also an easy 5 min taxi ride too which you can easily book thru Whats App also - the host and all the taxi drivers will give you their numbers. I would recommend this house to all my friends without hesitation. Thank you Casa Mar!

Everything was very good with the home and the attention from Monica, only there was a lot of flies and that made it unbearable to go out to the pool and every time we asked for a taxi we had to run out because in front and on the side there was a lot of grass that attracted the flies in an exaggerated way.

We came with our three children for a week. It was a little nerve wracking, as there aren’t pictures of all the spaces so we didn’t know what we were in for. But it was an open-floor plan living area with two bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs. Each one had a spacious bath, and there are two half baths. So many outdoor spaces to hang in, and the pool and garden were terrific; so shady and beautiful! We enjoyed coming back to the house during the hottest part of the day so the children could be out of the sun or nap. The walk to the closest beach is a matter of minutes; we used Cafe Del Mar many days to eat and use the beach chairs. We definitely felt welcomed and the helpers on site were fantastic. The house needed a lot of airing out when we arrived, it was musty and that was hard to get used to, running the ac units helped a lot, but if your sensitive to that kind of thing it may be a deal breaker. Town is about a 15 min walk, coffee shop 8 min. Over all we were very happy.

Very nice place to stay with a well-kept facility. Everything was very clean, our questions were answered very quickly and we felt very safe and comfortable. The location is quiet, there were some good restaurants right nearby, you have to go 20 minutes to the center for more hustle and bustle. Plan a walking tour or rent bicycles, which can also be found in the immediate vicinity. The way to the beach is really very short. We would recommend it to anyone who likes it a little quieter.

Bella was very communicative and helped us find a local fish market. The bedroom air conditioning was great and there was plenty of room for a 4-person family. The place is very close to the central plaza, the beach and many restaurants and hotels, but we liked being a few blocks away and having “real” neighbors.

Review of Our Stay in Holbox Our stay at a beautiful Airbnb in Holbox was overall delightful. The property featured two well-decorated villas equipped with all essentials. The rooftop pools offered a serene retreat, and the shared pool was equally enjoyable. The tranquil location, away from bars and tourist spots, was perfect for relaxation. We appreciated the cleaning service every third day, with friendly and efficient staff. Our host was fantastic, offering helpful tips and addressing a water heater issue, though it wasn’t fully resolved. However, privacy was a concern. The sheer window shades let in too much sunlight, and the top-floor main bedroom lacked doors for the room and bathroom. Additionally, the rooftop terraces, while stunning, lacked railings, making them feel unsafe. Despite these concerns, the Airbnb offered a unique and relaxing stay with great amenities. Improvements in privacy, safety and water temperature & pressure would make it even better.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful house hosted by Sonia and Rene, and I can honestly say that this was one of the best travel experiences I've ever had. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Sonia, Rene and their exceptional staff, who went above and beyond to ensure we felt at home. The property itself is stunning. It is beautifully decorated, providing a perfect blend of comfort and style. Every room was immaculate and thoughtfully equipped with all the amenities we could possibly need. The location was ideal, offering breathtaking views and easy access to local attractions. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Rene and Sonia for being such wonderful hosts. Their attention to detail and willingness to help made our stay truly special. They were always available to provide suggestions and recommendations for our trip. And a special thank you to our Chef Rangel by far best chef I’ve had in all my trips.

It’s about a 15 min walk to the Main Street of town but there is a good restaurant right next door and lots of close options to eat and drink. The inside of the house is rustic and the decor is interesting. But everything worked and we spent all of our time outside on the main floor patio. Also when we were there some men came and erected a beach palapa as part of the rental so hopefully that stays up for future guests as it was great to have. If you are a wing foiler this place is ideal. You can launch from the beach in front and store your stuff on the second floor. It was perfect.

Mónica's home was lovely and my friends and I had a great time there. Kevin, the caretaker, was extremely responsive and we loved chatting with him in the mornings while he made delicious smoothies. Mónica and Kevin also made travel to and from the island/Cancun airport extremely easy and had great recommendations for Holbox. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

I had a wonderful stay at Casa Lou. While the location was a bit far from the beaches, the neighbors were noisy late into the night, and sometimes trash burning was kind of toxic air quality, the home is wonderfully appointed and very comfortable. The pool is especially nice with jacuzzi jets and very clean. Karina was an absolutely wonderful host who helped us with all our food and entertainment requests. She introduced us to a great taxi driver who was very responsive and safe. It was a great immersion into the culture of Holbox.
