Vacation rentals with outdoor seating in Government of Amsterdam

We had a wonderful stay at Yvonne's cottage: it was spacious, homely, clean and set in the beautiful countryside just south of Amsterdam. The property is right on the river Amstel, so you can walk up the river (crossing on the riverboat ferry) to Amstel Park in under an hour. The amenities/ facilities provided were great for our stay over a long weekend.

We truly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home just outside Amsterdam. It’s private, cozy, and surrounded by beautiful greenery that made us feel relaxed and refreshed. The house has a warm, homey atmosphere and every detail made us feel right at home. A perfect escape from the city, yet still conveniently located. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and charming place to stay!

We felt immediately welcome! Property is as described and very clean. Ben and Inge were always very accommodating and friendly. By car, you can park at the P+R 10 minutes away and then take the train downtown. We'll be happy to come back - highly recommended.

The house was very well equipped for a family gathering. The kitchen was great for preparing family meals. We were 8 for part of our stay and the large dining room and lounge were ideal for our group. You do need a car or bike to get into Abcoude. Frustratingly parking in Abcoude is not good with 2 hour time limit so bit of a hassle to go to Amsterdam by train as required parking quite a distance from the station and walking but we figured a way that worked for us. The little restaurant next door is busy particularly at weekends but is handy for a bite to eat or a drink. The house has a lovely countryside setting which suited us but does come with drawbacks for example the WiFi isn’t great and the abundant bird life can be ‘messy’ but that’s nature😊 Would definitely stay again.

Birgit was a fantastic host! Her home was perfect for our quick trip to Amsterdam. It is located close to public transportation (less then 10 minutes to Centraal Station) and a grocery story is around the corner. Birgit showed us around her place and explained how to use different features of the house. She helped map out the easiest routes around the city for us. She was always available and super friendly. We had a great time and cannot wait to visit again.

After a pleasant communication with Maartje, we were warmly welcomed by Ernest. The cottage is very lovingly and comfortably furnished and has a nice little garden. If necessary, two bicycles are available. You feel right at home, it has everything you need. The location is within walking distance to the center of Muiden, where there are nice cafes and restaurants. To Amsterdam, you need 10 minutes by car to Weesp and then 18 minutes by train to the central train station. Overall, we felt very comfortable and would love to come back any time. Debbie is a fantastic host! She was lovely to interact with, very proactive, gave lots of recommendations, was very welcoming at check in, flexible with times, responsive to questions, and kind. The apartment is lovely, great view of the river, and close to public transport. Highly recommended!!

A top accommodation, a whole experience

Our stay at Vincent's apartment was lovely. It really was super clean, absolutely no clutter, and the bed was very comfortable. The street was quiet and away from the touristy areas. However, it was just a short walk to the busier areas and the museums, a real plus. The steps up to the apartment were indeed very steep. We mentioned this to our Dutch friends and they said "welcome to Amsterdam"! They are part of every house so we accepted this and got used to them. Vincent's Check In instructions were clear and we had no problems. We had a very memorable stay. Thank you, Vincent.

Perfect for those who love tranquility and privacy, but want to be comfortable in the city center. It takes between 15 and 45 minutes to reach the most interesting areas of Amsterdam, depending on where you want to go. Easy connections with public transport, the bike is also highly recommended. Inside the accommodation it is like a hotel, with comfortable and clean beds, a nice TV in front of the bed, a desk, a new bathroom with everything you need available, and a private entrance. Claire and Fernando are very friendly, helpful, nice people.

We had an amazing stay at Sharine and Keon’s place! The house was spotless, cozy, and perfectly equipped with everything we needed. It’s located in a beautiful and peaceful neighborhood, with easy access to everything Amsterdam has to offer. Sharine and Keon were fantastic hosts—very responsive, thoughtful, and welcoming. Great location because the town itself is like a postcard! Quite peaceful, picturesque, and full of charm. You must try Bob's Bakery - it has excellent breads and pastries. We used Uber to get to and from the Amsterdam city center, so not sure how long buses or trains would take. Uber was not cheap, but I felt it was worth it. The outdoor patio was great to enjoy breakfast and coffee, and it was peaceful at night to enjoy as well. Lyanne was a great host and very responsive. I would stay here again.

We went for our honeymoon and loved this place. Amazing location with stylish accents. Host is very responsive and helpful. Gorgeous apartment with access to all neighborhoods within walking distance. Easy to check in. Back balcony was relaxing and large. Quiet neighborhood but had great walkable shopping, restaurants and markets.

We stayed at Mario’s place with young children and very much appreciated, that Mario though of them too. They loved the toys, that he left for them in the apartment. Location was perfect, you can walk anywhere from this place. We had everything that we needed in it. We reccomend the stay at Mario’s place to everyone.

Me and my girlfriend spent a weekend in Amsterdam and we really enjoyed our stay in Alies appartment. The appartment was cozy designed and the neighbourhood was quiet but with many restaurants and bars to visit. The hosts were helpful and the check-in went smoothly. 5/5!

A wonderful stay in a beautiful apartment. The photos don’t do the place justice. Emilie and Dirk-Jans went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. Lovely neighbourhood with easy walking and public transport options.

The attentions to the reception and the friendly host immediately made us feel very warm. The house is located in a lively cozy neighborhood and yet we were not bothered by this in the bedrooms at all. We slept well and could hear the birds early in the morning. We may come back with our family.

The host filled the fridge with an unexpected treat of drinks and wine, which pleasantly surprised us. There was a lot of space in the apartment, it was generally nice. I was a little cold at night, but on hot days it will be great. You could hear the footsteps of the people living above us and how someone was using the water, because the house was built a long time ago. Definitely a very nice garden. Very kind and helpful Host.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely apartment in Amsterdam. The place is beautifully maintained—spotlessly clean, well-equipped, and full of charm. The hosts were incredibly kind, helpful, and responsive, making us feel welcome from the start. The location is quiet and peaceful, yet only a 15–20 minute walk from the city’s most vibrant areas. The beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. It’s worth noting that, like many traditional Amsterdam homes, the apartment is spread over three floors with narrow stairs—something to be aware of if mobility is an issue. One small point to consider: one of our group members found it a bit difficult that the bedroom couldn’t be completely dark in the morning. This didn’t bother the rest of us at all, but if you’re extremely light-sensitive, it might be good to to bring a sleep mask. All in all, we highly recommend this apartment and would gladly stay here again!
