Villa vacation rentals in Dorset

Loved the house, we stayed for Christmas it was perfect for our needs. The host had put up a beautiful Christmas tree for us. It was super Christmassy and a short walk into town for the lights and a few drinks in the pub. The house was warm, clean and the host was welcoming - we were so happy with everything! We had a perfect family Christmas all together with lots of space. The house is decorated querky and interesting - we loved it.

We had a fantastic holiday here. The combination of location in Topsham, riverside garden, characterful historic property and courtyard garden is wonderful. Richard was a great and responsive host. The small (free) Museum two doors down is recommended - and you can also have homemade cake or cream tea in their lovely garden. It wasn't clear to us from the listing that access to Bedroom 3, and to the bathroom with shower, is via Bedroom 4. If you have a larger vehicle, you may want to walk round and have a look before driving up the narrow lane (with kink) leading to the garage - I was ok in a Focus Estate, but with wing mirrors in and very little space to spare (but you'll be lucky to get a space on the Strand). But in conclusion, we had a wonderful and very memorable holiday.

Had a lovely stay at Tracy’s place. Tracy was a wonderful host and we felt welcomed as soon as we arrived. The accommodation is spacious, quiet and clean. There is a pub and local parade of shops less than a 10 mins walk away and Torquay town centre is 20 mins down the road (the walk back is all uphill though). I would highly recommend this accommodation.

Lovely family home in the heart of the new forest. Was perfect for a pre Christmas getaway with lovely fireplace and warm Arga in the kitchen. Ian and team were very accommodating and it was lovely to have our two cocker spaniels with us to enjoy long daily walks in the forest. Will definitely be back again

Clean & tidy Friendly & accommodating hosts Beautiful surrounding gardens with beautiful views of the sea & hills. Very peaceful with the occasional sound of the sheep in the distance, I would recommend for either couples or Families. Thank you Gigi & Roland for another wonderful time @ Huntingball-Lodge. I would have given 7 stars if available for Nathan and his property. We were a family of 12 and could not ask for more on our trip. He was very helpful from the time of booking until checkout. We were lucky to have him around this time even though he lives in Spain. Explained everything about the house, amenities, rest everything needed. We liked the kitchen very much as it had everything needed for our cooking dinner quickly even for 12 ppl. Also all other rooms were nice and have everything you would need on a trip away from home to feel like you are at home. Really appreciate the thought process of thinking what guests would need and to make everything available for use. We will definitely recommend to our friends and would love to go back as well in future. We have been many trips a cross UK and would rate Nathan’s property at the top of the list without a doubt. Enjoyed a memorable stay in Goretti’s peaceful and spacious home. The house is fully equipped and was extremely clean. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful garden and conservatory. Communication was seamless. Would definitely recommend this beautiful home. It was lovely to be greeted by the host with a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge.

Pros Interesting and unusual property, great space on the middle floor and the kids liked the electric TV chairs in the TV room on the top :). It has been built to a high standard and is comfortably furnished. The views are really lovely, from the Golden Cap right round to the Cob and there is plenty of space to sit outside and take it all in. There is a nice garden with swings etc for the kids. Short walk to the seafront down a cut (bring a torch if its dark) and easy parking is a huge bonus in Lyme Regis. Cons Communication with Heidi (the nominal host) was poor. She did not reply to my messages about the heating not working on arrival or answer the phone, forcing me to call the owner who was helpful and happy to sort the problem. We were also unlucky that the fridge/freezer was not working which made self catering a bit tricky, but the owner again tried to help and as a host/owner myself I understand these things happen. Overall it is a great place to stay.

Each summer a U.K. FAMILY holiday is planned for three generations ..ages 5 up to well quite a lot! The choice this year was to go to Simons place.and what a find for everyone. A characterful house. Inside spacious spotless , kitchen brilliant ,, bedrooms roomy , bathroom ( particularly first floor) fabulous, living room so homely with Simons personal collection of books, his piano, homeliness beyond, and with cable Tv Incorporating Sports channels , and Netflix and Prime Video . Outside the decking in the rear garden a wonderful morning sun trap , the front garden full of charm with BBQ facilities and two squirrels nicknamed Bill and Bob..there every morning … The location very peaceful , parking at front and rear of property . Local shops , and the beach within easy 5-10 minutes walk and buses same time away into Bournemouth Poole and Christchurch . A wonderful seven days

I have to come clean - I am an enthusiast of Penarth, the architecture of the town, the community feel, and everything about the place. Sarah's place, being among the oldest houses in the town, was a must for all the things I was looking for. Sarah herself is friendly and has clearly put a lot of herself into the house. My journey time to Penarth could have been subject to delays, being more than 500 miles... but we had good communication and met up without difficulty at the house. All in all, the house was cosy and well appointed. It also was a great base for strolling into Penarth Town centre and even, across the barrage, to Butetown and even Cardiff. I would thoroughly recommend Sara's house for your stay.

What an amazing place! The interior design is amazing with fantastic fit and finish. We really enjoyed the place and for us it was a great launch site for checking out Wales and in particular Cardiff. Wish we had more time there. We all slept well. Would definitely recommend and hope to be able to return one day.

This is a wonderful house for a family gathering; very welcoming with great spaces for eating, cooking and relaxing with lots of games and smart tvs. All in a great location within walking distance of beautiful Bath as well as the canal and surrounding countryside. Highly recommended!

We stayed for a long weekend to celebrate a family birthday and we couldn't have asked for any more from the Villa. Stunning property and very spacious, the hot tub and games room were definitely a highlight with many. Simon and Charlie were fabulous hosts, very attentive with clear instructions. A lovely welcome basket was waiting for us which was a lovely gesture. The location was perfect and close to shops and restaurants and lovely walks to take in. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

We had a great stay, even in January, and the house was perfect for us (6 adults, a 4-year old, 2 dogs) The house was warm and spacious with lots of kids toys and extremely well equipped. The hot tub in the garden is a lovely addition, despite high winds meaning we couldn’t always use it! It’s well located near Cowes and its amenities, amidst other houses but on a quiet road, with great views because it’s on a hill and very near the sea, though not a beach as such. We would certainly return if we can.

Had a lovely stay with family. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the property and surrounds. The living area was inviting and convivial with a cosy log fire. The host was very friendly, helpful and responsive, going out of her way to accommodate and make our stay memorable. Definitely recommend.

10 of us stayed at this beautiful place for New Year (6 adults and 4 small children). We had the best time and absolutely loved the swimming pool and how spacious and clean the house was. Lucy was a great host and check in on us regularly although she was away herself. She alway responded quickly and was very helpful. We would love to return.
