Located on our Mohawk Riverfront Property this beautifully renovated historic caboose was originally a D&H (Delaware Hudson) transfer caboose. Later sold to service the FJ&G Fonda, Johnstown & Gloversville area in upstate NY. Includes a full kitchen, full bath and loft area with a double bed. First floor has a queen pull out sofa bed. Visit our historic 1890 train depot. It is an opportunity to enjoy a get away from city life. Our hope is that this is a place people can relax and enjoy natures beauty. The depot has 2 extraordinary rooms that are completely private but located on our farmstead separate from our main house. Here you can view occasional wildlife, our domestic animals and one of the best views North Dakota has to offer (in my opinion).

We had an amazing stay at the Yellow Union Pacific Caboose with our two kids, our 7-year-old son, a true train enthusiast, and our 3-month-old daughter. This one-of-a-kind place was the perfect family getaway. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed, especially with the thoughtful snack basket waiting for us! The caboose is beautifully restored and incredibly well-equipped, even with a newborn in tow. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the attention to detail in both the design and amenities made it feel like home. Our son was in heaven watching the trains wind through the canyon, and at night, the distant rumble and whistles of passing trains were like lullabies that gently rocked us all to sleep. Janine was a fantastic host, super responsive and clearly passionate about creating a special experience. If you're looking for a peaceful, unique, and family-friendly escape, this is the place. We can't wait to return!

We stayed the first night in the caboose. I'm always looking to stay in unique places and the caboose is definitely that. What a cool place to stay. The second night we stayed in the farmhouse, but I wanted to stay in the jail. My girlfriend won that one. Al gave us a tour of the property along with the history. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again.

We loved staying at The Lost Pearl! Very cool place! We stayed in the Pirate room the first 2 nights then the caboose the last night. So beautiful and neat, antique decor throughout the historical home. Daniel greeted us and helped us when needed with recommendations , but also let us do our own thing! They have goats and a mini store packed full of goat milk products & fun things! You can feed the goats. The breakfast that was made for us Saturday morning was DELICIOUS. He recommended the perfect winery/brewery to meet both our needs, a perfect hike-park area that took us to a local waterfall. No tv in the pirate room- we brought our projector and watched Pirates of the Caribbean and Titanic! Caboose has a smart tv and heater. We had a wedding our last night near by, came back to a fire built for us. Each room included a book with history about the property and local areas, recommendations to restaurants and sites, wineries, antique shops and so much more! We will be back! Loved it!

A great spot to stay for 8 of us guys on a snowmobile/birthday weekend. Bill gave clear instructions on how to get in and where we could park our trailers. It was nice to find a light on and the heat nice and warm. Lots of nice towels and linens. It was just a short walk to some nice bars and restaurants. Locals were friendly and welcoming. It is located right o the snowmobile trail so that made it a perfect fit. We will be back next winter for another stay.

Steve's place was magical! The train car had everything that we needed for our stay and felt so cozy to stay in. We very much enjoyed all of the thematic decor and had a great time watching some movies from the provided collection of train related DVDs! We even happened to meet Steve during our stay, and he was super friendly and helpful! This place was the perfect launching-off point for all of our adventures in Oklahoma City.

These train cars have so much history and charm. Karla has really put so much thought and intent into the decor, the information and time period, and cozy comfort. Little touches like snacks, tea, coffee creamer, etc. beautiful plush towels and comfy beds and furniture. It felt so private and luxurious. The decks and surroundings are lovely and there really isn’t much around at all so it is so peaceful and quiet. I loved the guestbook too and felt so comfortable. Karla was also responsive and helpful, though I didn’t need much help at all because everything was so well thought out. The perfect get away for peace and solitude amid a cozy converted train car and caboose!
