camp site at Didupe

AvadhaniRating, 5 stars44 months ago
We found this place while randomly browsing on airbnb to stay near didupe falls. Shiva spoke to us after we booked this place and since then we were amazed by his hospitality and the way he guided us to reach his place. The place is well located inside the forest with excellent scenic views and you can hear the sound of water flowing from his stay. Shiva’s knowledge of the surroundings is simply superb and this stay is a must if you are someone who wants to explore things without having a fixed plan or schedule. The icing on the cake is the food along with those random conversations with Shiva which you won’t forget for sometime. I recommend this to anyone looking for a place in this area and to others who is confused about to where to spend your weekend away from Bangalore :D

Beautiful gardens and great hospitality. Lively bar and fun games at night, and delicious food. The beach is unfortunately full of trash however which is heartbreaking.

Tent in Chakrata

Stunning Hills Wooden Cottage

AnaghRating, 5 stars88 months ago
This is a lovely place to stay if you are looking to trek in and around Chakrata. The hosts are a kind, gentle couple who took special care in showing us around the place even going as far as to plan our entire trek to Devban. Accomodation is bare minimum in terms of amenities but the hosts do as best as they can to make you feel comfortable . Perfect place to stay if your primary interest is to trek.

The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They are ready to help you in whatever way they can. The place is great and accurate to the description. Food was amazing. It is totally safe for women. They respect your privacy. I was not able to meet Vishal personally as he was out of station at that time but he made sure that everything goes smoothly for us. We broke a small face-mirror while packing our stuff but they didn't take any extra money even when we offered. Highly recommended if you can afford the place. Looking forward to visit the place again.
Campsite in Jaisalmer

An Arabian Night in the Thar Desert!

AndyRating, 5 stars71 months ago
Sawai and RC (our guide) were two of the most helpful and welcoming people we met during our time in India and we couldn’t recommend this stay (and experience) more highly. We were booked to stay in Jaisalmer for just two nights at the end of our trip, with one of those being in the desert but after booking I fell ill and we delayed our arrival by one day. Sawai graciously rearranged our experience for the next day for us at just 12 hours notice, completely outside the cancellation policy but a great example of his generosity. When we arrived in jaisalmer on our overnight sleeper bus we were met by a driver (a welcome relief given the number of tuk tuk drivers!) who then took us to a guest house where we could freshen up, rest and use as a base before our trip into the desert that afternoon. This was brilliant and well-needed after a very bumpy and hot journey! We were also able to leave our bigger bags safely so we only took what we needed for the desert with us. In the afternoon, we met RC (who was warm, caring and also hilarious!) our driver and guide for the trip who took us in an AC 4x4 to an abandoned village and then onto an oasis before we arrived in camp Khuri where we were met with a wonderful masala chai tea. We settled into our hut, freshened up and then headed out into the dunes for a camel ride, eventually arriving in time to watch sunset. Our hut had an en suite bathroom (with shower), light, power and even a (very big) fan to keep us cool at night. It’s all basic facilities not 5* luxury but you’re here for the authentic experience of a night in the desert! After sunset, we had dinner and watched local musicians and dancers perform before making a fire and watching the stars. In the morning, we saw sunrise, took a walk around the local village before having breakfast and heading back to jaisalmer. We were again able to freshen up at Sawai’s guesthouse before leaving for our train back to Delhi. This was a stay and an experience all mixed into one, with every detail taken care of and we couldn’t rate it highly enough. I don’t normally write such long reviews, but given the amazing hospitality and experience we have had I felt I wanted to help in anyway I could (especially when everyone here promises you an ‘authentic’ experience).

Campsite in Kamshet

Offbeat Camping with 360° views at Uksan, Kamshet

AniraRating, 5 stars47 months ago
We had a fantastic time at the campground. Due to the rain, the ground was muddy, so I recommend that you bring a good pair of boots. The walk to the lake was incredible because it was a very quiet and secluded location. If you are a social media addict, this would be an excellent detox experience because you will have very few opportunities to use your phone. The food was excellent, authentic Maharashtrian cuisine, and the quantity was incredible as well. I would advise against overindulging on the all-you-can-eat barbecue; tea is included in the package, but coffee is not. They provide shisha on demand, which adds to the night's experience. We recommend bringing your own alcohol, as there is no store nearby. The most incredible and must-do experience of the trip was the off-road jeep ride, which provided an adrenaline rush as well as the best views and places to visit. Additionally, it is an incredible location for photography.

Jungle Creek is the place to stay if you are visiting shangarh. It is literally on the outside of the meadow (the main spot of the shangarh), which makes it extremely convenient for any of us to reach and enjoy. You can do stargazing as it is very near to the meadow, and just enjoy scenic view in peace. Also , they have wiFi which makes it even better for workation.
