This place is actually beautiful really a home from home place. We stayed at Birch lodge which was so warm and welcoming. Your surrounded by the sounds of nature day and night, which is very peaceful and serene. The hot tub is an added touch, where you can gaze at the stars whilst the bubbles surround you. I really valued the privacy of each lodge, which backs onto a nice green area at the back. Ian was most accmodating, awnsering any questions we had, but they made sure they answered most questions through the instructions that was left for us. Thoughtful. Sad to be leaving but Upthorpe Lodges will deffo see us again, when we want to escape the hustle and bustle of London, and connect with nature.

Vikki-Jo was attentively welcoming with the most efficient responsiveness we've experienced on Airbnb. The cabin was roomy, rustic and perfect for us. The hot tub toasty warm and spotless. We had a little spider friend in the shower room who popped his head out to say hi occasionally, but we liked them. It was totally private away from the main property and everything was as described. The whole stay was a perfect experience from the moment we booked right up to the moment we left. This is how Airbnb should be done. A true 5 star experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I think it was competitively priced for a stay with a hot tub which we enjoyed after walking around Colchester Zoo all day. Thank you Vikki-Jo for our wonderful stay 💐

Absolutely stunning lodge, was exactly what we wanted. Very spacious and was bigger than expected. The hot tub added a little extra something. Everything you would need for a weekend stay. Fantastic surroundings, including the friendly horses that would come to their gate for a stroke. Beautiful location with a country park not far for a great walk. Overall a brilliant stay and would highly recommend!

Me and my partner haven’t a single bad thing to say , it was such a lovely peaceful get away with such a lovely little town like village within the area we stayed with a lovely cafe , lots of shops like antiques and homemade goods , mini golf and loads more the only downside was that I didn’t book for longer , the host was amazing I had to message as the WiFi went down at one point but this was because of no fault of the host and she messaged back within 30 minutes and instantly got straight on the case the problem was solved not long after , me and my girlfriend will 100% be back again soon , lovely stay can’t recommend enough .

We stayed at this beautiful lodge for a girls’ weekend to celebrate a 40th birthday, and it was absolutely stunning. The decor was stylish and welcoming, making it feel like a home away from home. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the peaceful location made it the perfect place to unwind. We all had an amazing time, and while there was no WiFi, it actually encouraged us to have more conversations and truly enjoy each other’s company—making the experience even more special. Overall, a fantastic stay, and we’d definitely recommend it!

Lovely peaceful location and ideal for a relaxing break to explore Suffolk. The accommodation and equipment provided were excellent. We’d definitely make a return visit in future.

This is our second time staying and we absolutely love it!!!! We have children with additional needs so we needed our own space - there is plenty of room throughout the lodge and an area outside so the kids can play. There are plenty of board games which the kids loved & It's so peaceful and quiet. We all loved the hot tub & its definitely a huge selling point with staying here. It's been the perfect get away for us all from the busyness of life & we can't wait to return. I asked if it was possible to decorate for our twins birthday and Colin and Sue did this for us so the kids were so happy when they arrived. Colin and Sue have been extremely responsive, kind and thoughtful and we can't rate them high enough on here. We also met a few other people on the site and they were also very friendly. A big thanks again to Colin and Sue!

Booked a long weekend away with my husband and two girls and had a wonderful time! I would 100% recommend Wakes Hall Lodges; the location is so peaceful (you wouldn’t even realise there are other lodges nearby!) lovely views as well. Check in was so easy and the lodge was spotless on arrival. The hot tub is a great feature and was so nice to relax in. Really spacious inside and comfy beds. I would recommend eating at the nearby Swan pub- food was great! Will definitely be looking to book again!

It wasn’t the easiest to find. Too k a couple of attempts. Especially because it was dark.

We had a fantastic stay at Sherwood Farm, it’s even better than the description and pictures. Lovely space with lots of room for a family of 4. Toys and books the kids loved and the garden/ field was huge and they adored it! Had a great takeaway from the Naz in Soham and took the kids to several local national trust properties and Bens yard which has a great coffee shop and adventure play ground. Lovely to have tea and coffee provided in the house. Rooms clean and beds comfy. Huge oven and great facilities to cook. Will definitely do a bbq next time. Cam to Ely to visit family but it felt like a holiday because of this place. Thank you! We will be back.

Perfect location, everything we needed. A welcome retreat from the sea breeze when needed.

We felt very welcome at Catherine and Mark's lovely garden cabin. They are both so friendly and helpful, and also were very welcoming towards our two dogs who felt right at home in their big fenced-in garden with their own two sweet dogs. The cabin had everything we needed for our stay. We loved the walks in the area, from Saint Peter's Chapel to Bradwell Marina along the coastal path, as well as Mark's great suggestion to walk across the old airfield. Couldn't have stayed in a better place and will definitely be returning!

We had a lovely stay. The cargo pod was just big enough for us and the facilities were great. The patio furniture could do with an update, but overall we are really happy

We stayed at Emily’s caravan for our Easter break. The caravan was spotless clean and cosy. The kitchen was well equipped and the air fryer was a bonus. It was nice being in the last row as we had more privacy and our children could play outside. Our children loved the games and scooters. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back in the future!

We really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay again. Photo’s and description didn’t do it justice. Really comfy mattress and plenty of room to walk around. The decking was amazing and really close to the sea.

We had an amazing Christmas at the lodge this year. It was so peaceful and it was lovely to be surrounded by the beautiful scenery. Georgie was a fantastic host and very responsive and friendly to anything we needed. We’d never been away for Christmas so we’re unsure of how it would feel, but it’s safe to say we’d love to make this a yearly thing! Thank you for an amazing time 😊

Spacious, very clean, nicely furnished and extremely well stocked. Tracey’s place has everything you need and more. Perfect for our family of 5.

Beautiful location, very private and well maintained gardens. The cottage was very homely with a large comfy bed. Nice bathroom and kitchen. The only thing it missed was a microwave in the kitchen. Had a lovely weekend and will definitely consider coming back again.

Had a lovely time , wish we could have stayed longer very responsive host , very clean , not expensive and exactly as advertised. We were also running a bit late at check out time and the host graciously extended the time at no extra cost … also a cheeky bottle of Prosecco in the fridge which was a nice touch . We will be staying again

Beautiful day in Hi-de-hut! Perfect location, there was everything we needed. Syd was a great host, enthusiastic about his hut and wanted us to make the most of our day there. Beautiful location by the sea, with the docks, marshes, pier, cafes, playing field, play area, it was perfect. The locals are so chatty, we loved hearing about the history and hidden secrets of Harwich and Dovercourt. Would highly recommend the hut to anyone, its perfect for everybody. We will definitely be returning during the summer.

Location was spot-on due to attending the event on-site. Quiet and peaceful overnight, comfortable rooms and was ideal for our needs. Thanks.

The side balcony was a good bonus if you prefer to not watch people walking by. Woke up first morning with tv on as hadn't switched off switch at the mains, needs putting in instructions. Instructions for opening keylock, which Gemma then sent video, if never used before would be very useful. Dogs on leads at all times, quiet from 10p.m. added bonus. Sonny Cottage was clean, cozy and even had a drinks fridge.! Very shortwalk to sea wall. Thoroughly enjoyed my short stay.

The advert does not do this place justice. Absolutely beautiful retreat. A row of cabins at the edge of meadows with horses in, over looking a river which have trees and shrubbery between them so each is private. Wifi worked but was not needed as the signal was great anyway. Hot tub and entire cabin was pristine. Myself and my friend enjoyed our visit and were able to relax and unwind. Many thanks to Wayne for allowing us to check in and out around our work schedules. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be booking again in the future.
