Mary Meadows - Character Lakeland Barn Conversion

DavidRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Joanne was more than helpful offering update weather and travel information, there had been some significant snow fall the days leading up to our stay and Joanne was able to confirm the road was clear. There was also road works that I have not seen on the travel outlets I had checked. The accommodation was perfect for my wife and I and it was like home from home, my wife often struggles with sleeping (even at home) but found she could sleep well at Mary Meadows. We had a four night stay and never used the car once as there were so many walks from the door; I should add we did take enough supplies with us since we knew there are no local shops close by. We are seriously looking to have a return visit.

Sandysike Barn on Hadrian's Wall with hot tub!

DianeRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Just arrived home after 4 relaxing and peaceful nights. The house is situated on a farm but you wouldn’t know. Diccon showed us in when we arrived and was very welcoming and give us some advice on the surrounding area. If you’re looking to walk Hadrian’s wall this is the place, the path goes right past the farm. We did a really big walk on our 1st full day and walked all the way to Banks a little village which has part of the wall in it, on the way back we stopped in at Lanercost priory and tearoom, well worth a visit. About 8miles round trip. We then did a couple of smaller walks on the other days. Then ended each day enjoying the hot tub and managed a couple of starry nights. This is a great addition. Brampton is a nice little town with a great butchers and foodhall. Would recommend and definitely visit again. Thanks for a fantastic stay.

Stunning Views over the Swale, Barn Cottage.

LauraRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a lovely stay in the cottage over New Year’s Eve. The wood burner made it feel very cosy, and it’s really well equipped - it has pretty much everything you might need for a few nights stay. The location is perfect for walking - we did a couple straight from the cottage, with really varied landscapes which were absolutely stunning, including rivers, big vistas and farmland, ending with an excellent pub in Gunnerside. Just a couple of things, which wouldn’t bring my review score down but worth noting - we couldn’t get the washing machine to work, which didn’t really matter to us but worth checking with Harriet if it’s an essential. Also, the hairdryer wasn’t great so worth bringing your own if your hair takes hours to dry like mine! Lastly, the sound system is pretty old and doesn’t have Bluetooth, so better bring a speaker if you like listening to music. Overall, we loved the cottage and had a fantastic stay!

The Barn

AdamRating, 5 stars6 days ago
The reviews did not lie! Pat and Neil were extremely welcoming and helpful when it came down to suggesting local walks, places to eat etc. We would really recommend the Aira force/Ullswater walk! They also introduced their dog Bob to our nervous dog which ensured our girl had a much more relaxing and enjoyable time. The barn was very spacious with a gorgeous fire which made for a very cosy feel. The bed was exactly what everyone had described it as, extremely comfy! The garden was lovely and big which extended the enjoyment of our dog. The whole barn was spotless and we couldn’t fault a thing inside. We would really recommend this stay and hope to return again in the not so distant future. Thanks once again Pat and Neil :)

Bella’s Barn, new barn conversion with hot tub,

We had a gorgeous 3 night stay in Bella’s Barn as a family of 3 with a young baby. Kev was a great host and was happy to help with any questions we had and also left us to our own devices so it really felt like a home away from home. The location is perfect for exploring different parts of the Lake District and the hot tub, local views and facilities in the barn were excellent. Would highly recommend staying here!

The Byre at Hole House

JamesRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This is the 2nd time staying at Emma’s , I stayed last year around the same time. The cottage is tucked away in the countryside not far from Penrith and the M6 motorway, it’s such a peaceful location. When I got there just after 3pm the cottage was warm and very cleans, in fact spotless !. The kitchen and bathroom use quality fittings and the walk in shower is wonderful (I must get one in my home). The bed is very nice, the mattress is perfect has is the bedding. The tv is small but has a brilliant picture and has a hdmi port for a streaming stick if you have one also the DAB radio is great . The biggest surprise is the speed of the wifi I got about 450mbps down and the same up, not what you expect in the countryside !. Emma left me a pint of milk, bread, homemade cake and a bottle of wine. Last year I stayed 3 nights but this time I stayed 5 nights which tells you everything !

This has to be the most stocked air bnb Iv stayed at toys, books, cooking equipment plus extra blankets and towels. Also the location was amazing and the house was beautifully finished and clean. Jonothan was fast at replying and had so much children/baby equipment to save space in the car. Fab break away.

We stayed over a cold December weekend and the place was stunning. Whether walking on the wild moors or snuggling in front of the log burner we were very happy with our choice to stay here. There were plenty of nice touches, including the tasty bread and eggs. We'd love to come back!

Cottage & Pool House Yorkshire Dales Littondale

MandaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We really enjoyed everything about this break. The place was stocked with everything we needed and was really well equipped, couldnt fault it at all. The pool is incredible and a highlight of our stay! The main house is wonderful- so full of character and warm and inviting as well as spacious. The pool house quarters were equally as impressive. We just didnt want to go home! The cottage is in a fantastic location to see areas of interest such as malham cove, Pen y Ghent and Ingleborough caves as well as having some wonderful pubs around usually offering delicious food. We absolutely loved it here and would return in a heartbeat. Have had so many friends asking about the place too after seeing pictures, videos and hearing how much we enjoyed it.

The Mews, cosy barn for 2-4 people.

SarahRating, 5 stars1 week ago
A beautiful property, in a lovely location. We felt very at home and cozy here, and enjoyed quality family time. V good location for exploring the Lakes and in the evenings we lit the log burner and relaxed, just perfect! The kitchen is v well equipped and we changed our plans and cooked 2 evening meals there (instead of going out to eat), as we liked the place so much! Would highly recommend! Under floor heating warmed the bedrooms nicely, without being too warm and beds v comfy. Can't find one negative about this property and its lovely host.
