Vacation rentals with a fireplace in River Dart

We had a great family stay at Huccaby Cottage. The location was perfect for days out and the added bonus of the indoor pool and play facilities was excellent! The cottage is great for little ones with everything you might need, stair gates, travel cots, high chair etc. The welcome hamper was very much appreciated after our journey on the motorway was very slow, the biscuits went down a treat! It was our first visit but certainly not our last, we’re already looking to book next year! Thank you for a fab weekend. X

We felt very welcomed by Andy. It was easy to find and close to town. It was warm and private with lots of great space for the dogs. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in kingsbridge!

We had a fantastic week, the house was perfect for our family, the rooms were huge and the location and views were stunning. There's so many lovely places to visit within a short drive. I couldn't recommend the house and hosts highly enough.

Wow, Kristin's place is absolutely dreamy! It's so close to town and the train station, and every detail has been carefully thought out. We really wish we could stay longer!

Sue's place was a beautiful place for a couple of nights, it was quirky in its style, and really showed Sue's unique style and her creative expertise, it also gave us a lovely insight into her passion for travel and the outdoors. The studio was beautifully equipped, with everything we needed, and the special little touches of handmade fudge, organic apple juice in the fridge were much appreciated. The sky lights in the bedroom allowing beautiful views of the stars were magical too. Sue was friendly, helpful and informative without being intrusive. we absolutely loved our short stay at Sue's place and would highly recommend it.

Really enjoyed my stay. I went with some friends, we all enjoyed ourselves. Was a great escape from the city. The house was clean and warm. The view is very pretty and the garden is big! Would recommend if looking to have a break.

We had a fantastic stay at Sharon’s lovely house. It was great staying in Kingswear, across the estuary from its busier neighbour Dartmouth and with the ferry between the two running regularly until almost 11pm, we felt we had the best of both worlds. We ate out in Dartmouth & Brixham, had some beautiful coastal walks, visited the friendly pubs in Kingswear and just enjoyed time relaxing in the comfortable house and admiring the wonderful views. It’s rare to find a place with 3 double beds and we really appreciated that. The beds themselves were comfy with lovely crisp bedlinen. A great holiday and a place I’d love to return to.

Wow. What a stunning place to stay Beautiful house. Amazing grounds and scenery. Pool tennis court and bar with games room was a great addition. Alistair was a fabulous host. Very friendly most informative and a genuinely nice guy. Would highly recommend the clay pigeon shoot on the lawn which Alistair organised. 10 out of 10 will definitely return in the near future. Thankyou Alistair for an awesome weekend!

We were moving out of a long-term rental and needed a place to stay for a few nights. William’s place was perfect as it was just one street away from our rental flat and it also had plenty of space for us to spread out. We had stayed at this same unit over Christmas a couple of years earlier and liked it very much - hence booking again. The unit is very well appointed and equipped. It’s in a great location, just a street away from The Hoe, plus being a very easy to walk to theatres, restaurant, shops, and The Barbican. William is a great host with excellent communication. All questions were answered quickly and issues resolved in a timely fashion. We have learned that William manages other properties in Cornwall and Devon, so will certainly book again in one of his units for our future mini breaks.

Well located for centre of town and also the hospitals. A really lovely comfortable well equipped and stylish apartment. Anna Lisa was very responsive to any queries responding straight away which was great .

Sometimes it's what a host does in exceptional circumstances that needs to be reviewed instead of the accomodation. Jose is a incredibly kind and fair host. In exceptional circumstances he was unable to let his place to us at the last minute as see omeone else needed it more. To rectify this he went above and beyond anything we expected by booking us into Hotel du Vin in Exeter for our stay at a significant cost to himself. His communication throughout was excellent and as a result we had a wonderful stay even though sadly it was not in his place.

We had the most beautiful New Year break. Kerrie was so helpful at making sure we had the stay we wanted. The property is quirky & fun. The location was amazing, minutes from the Sea & beach. Walks around the cliff were perfect. Lots of places to eat locally. Couldn’t recommend more for a perfect break by the sea. Thank you

Excellent accommodation, exactly as described and finished to a high specification. There is a garage to park in at the property but access is tight 6feet width! You would certainly struggle with a large car, we had a VW Golf and it was still quite tight. There is some free on street parking but this is rarely available. The property is a perfect location with a few minutes walk to the town, market and the sea front. Therefore there are several good restaurants, cafes, etc within easy reach. There are 26 steps from the street up to the door of the property and they are quite irregular. There are also steps between some rooms inside the property (2 flights of 3 steps and one single step down into the bedroom. Needs considerationvfor anyone with mobility problems. So overall, if you don’t mind the steps and a tight squeeze for your car (or no means of driving up to the property if you have a large car) then this is an excellent property to stay in. Highly recommended.

Mary was very welcoming to us on our arrival. The flat itself is very comfortable and right next to the shops / cafes etc in Dawlish. Very well equipped with everything you need for a lovely stay. We were on a family visit, but if you are looking for a holiday Dawlish is ideal and relatively unspoilt compared to other coastal towns. Lots of shops to explore, and of course the famous Gay's Creamery is here too (an absolute must-visit!)

Loved the house, we stayed for Christmas it was perfect for our needs. The host had put up a beautiful Christmas tree for us. It was super Christmassy and a short walk into town for the lights and a few drinks in the pub. The house was warm, clean and the host was welcoming - we were so happy with everything! We had a perfect family Christmas all together with lots of space. The house is decorated querky and interesting - we loved it.

We had a fantastic holiday here. The combination of location in Topsham, riverside garden, characterful historic property and courtyard garden is wonderful. Richard was a great and responsive host. The small (free) Museum two doors down is recommended - and you can also have homemade cake or cream tea in their lovely garden. It wasn't clear to us from the listing that access to Bedroom 3, and to the bathroom with shower, is via Bedroom 4. If you have a larger vehicle, you may want to walk round and have a look before driving up the narrow lane (with kink) leading to the garage - I was ok in a Focus Estate, but with wing mirrors in and very little space to spare (but you'll be lucky to get a space on the Strand). But in conclusion, we had a wonderful and very memorable holiday.

We stayed for a long weekend to celebrate a family birthday and we couldn't have asked for any more from the Villa. Stunning property and very spacious, the hot tub and games room were definitely a highlight with many. Simon and Charlie were fabulous hosts, very attentive with clear instructions. A lovely welcome basket was waiting for us which was a lovely gesture. The location was perfect and close to shops and restaurants and lovely walks to take in. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

This Christmas will go down as one of the best our family has ever had, and this beautiful property played a huge part in that. It’s a very special place—the only problem is that you won’t want to leave at the end! We spent 10 days here with family from Plymouth, Sweden, and France, and the house was perfect. Everyone loved it: the older generation was cozy and comfortable, the teenagers had the freedom to explore town, and we all came together in the evenings for meals and games. The owners went above and beyond to make the house warm, inviting, and festive, with lovely Christmas treats that everyone appreciated. The ground floor has a spacious living room with a lovely log fire, a fully equipped kitchen with an island that opens onto the dining room, and a WC with a hand basin. Upstairs, there are four beautiful bedrooms, a spotless bathroom with a shower and bath, and another WC. Parking is easy right outside. Thanks to Joanna and Mike for creating so many treasured memories!

very nice, clean, bright, and spacious area! dog friendly, which was great for us. Our dog was able to roam around freely and relax in different rooms without strangers as there were so many rooms to spend time I'm away from your bedroom. Anthony was very friendly, very responsive over app, and great with our dog who can be nervous around men. hottub was a great addition. no issues here! depending on the guests who stay with you depends on how loud or quiet the communal area is at night, we had a family playing muical doors at 10pm each night, but was very quiet and peaceful once everyone settled. Good location to travel around Devon! would definitely recommend it!

Very friendly and great communication. Spacious bedrooms that are clean and tidy and are well glazed to minimise traffic noise from the main road. The property is situated near loads of amenities in Plymouth and was easy and quick to get to. The views from the rooms were lovely, tranquil and ever changing with the tide and weather. Just be mindful that to get those views there are loads of steps! There are binoculars in the main bedroom to spot wildlife when the tide is out. There aren’t any bins in the bedrooms or bathroom so had to use my dogs unused poo bags so be prepared. There is a lay-by for locals parking (3 cars) which is straight off the busy main road. I couldn’t park at the back of the property as my SUV was too big to get the right angle to park (as it’s a fairly busy narrow lane) so if you have a small-ish car you’ll be fine. Overall a lovely bungalow to base yourself in Plymouth but just be prepared for the steps and parking.
