Barn vacation rentals in River Dart

We had a wonderful stay at Bridesmere over New Year and it was just what we needed. Peaceful, beautiful area, lovely comfortable home from home. We appreciated the enclosed garden for our spaniel, the beautiful and spacious bedrooms and the living area which was large enough for all 7 of us, two families. WiFi was strong upstairs so no issue with all of us connected and the tv had all apps we needed to watch films with no buffering. There is a beautiful walk through the forest along the river just minutes from the house which leads to a very nice pub serving good food. As other reviews mention, the kids room smells a little musty/damp but this was not a huge issue and we opened the bathroom window after showering which helped. Kitchen well stocked but knives are a little blunt! Children loved the games barn and not having to bring bikes with us was really helpful and appreciated. Overall we couldn’t have asked for a nicer stay and we would definitely return. Thank you for having us.

Amazing place - everything you needed. Well out in the country but close enough to big towns. So quiet, warm and homely. A lovely weekend spent with family.

Our stay at Apple Loft was fantastic and the perfect way to unwind after a busy Christmas with friends and family. Kate was excellent at communicating with me and helped organise a local breakfast hamper for our stay for a small charge. The loft itself was exactly as pictured and was well equipped for our stay. The kitchen had everything we needed and the loft was very welcoming. Kate recommended some local pubs and they were great. You do need a car to get around as the area is quite remote but there are walks around the farm if you don't want to drive anywhere. The log burner was great for cosying up in the evenings. Kate provided some logs to get us started but if you're staying a few nights, you might want to bring some extra or buy an additional bag. Everything was clean and as expected. We took our little dog with us and the enclosed garden area was great to let her out when she needed. Kate also allowed us to have an earlier check in which was great. Would definitely stay again!

Absolutely stunning! the best Airbnb we have stayed. Truly home from home. The spotlessly clean kitchen has been thoughtfully stocked with items you may need. Beautiful surroundings, and lovely hosts. We will definately be going back.

We were a multi generation family group and wagtail cottage was great for all of us. The younger ones loved the games room and swimming pool. Having 2 babies it was lovely to have the washing machine and tumble dryer

A great picturesque location, overlooking the river. Perfect for walks and just a short drive to many beaches. Inside it was very clean with modern appliances and a comfy bed. The welcoming biscuits and milk were a nice touch. While Bee was very friendly and on hand, if needed for any suggestions of good local places to visit and eat. We would definitely stay again.

We had a great time at Susie’s place with our 1 year old and dog. Susie was very welcoming and helpful during our stay! It was well equipped for both - we would definitely recommend!

What a wonderful place! We enjoyed our stay so much. Beautifully designed with function and comfort at the forefront (the heated floor being a personal highlight). The large open living space was lovely to be in, and great attention to detail. Peaceful surroundings, with many a birdsong. The luxurious large and comfy bed was very hard to get out of. The perfect retreat for getting away from it all and fresh country air. Thank you :)

A wonderful barn conversation which carefully retains some of the original features. Fully equipped, super clean and wonderfully spacious. Georgina and David were inviting and friendly. Fantastic find and one we will be sure to revisit.

We stayed here for my dad’s 60th birthday and honestly had the best two night stay. The house is absolutely stunning, immaculately presented and everything you need! We took our two little boys and they had so much place to run around and play! They especially didn’t want to leave! Whilst we stayed we visited Salcombe which is only 30 minute drive from the house. All in all, this house is the best Air B&B we have ever stayed in. Thank you so much!!

Myself and family had a great stay here. Very cosy and unique. Despite first night being a storm with 50+ mph winds Ruby Rose was exceptionally conformable and probably one of the best nights sleep had recently listening to the storm. Denise was fantastic and checked on us the morning after. Would highly recommend

Such a lovely, cosy airbnb in a peaceful, pretty location. The barn is so beautifully furnished and spotless! The perfect location as you are 20 mins or less to great places such as salcombe, Hope Cove & Bantham. The bed is so comfortable and the large bath is a plus! Can’t wait to come and stay again!

We had an absolutely fantastic time staying at Lindsay’s barn. From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The communication with Lindsay was smooth and prompt, making the booking process hassle-free. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Lindsay and given a thorough tour of the property. The space was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated, providing a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The amenities provided were top-notch, ensuring that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect, with stunning views of the countryside and It was very peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed exploring the area and found plenty of great dining options nearby. Overall, our experience was nothing short of amazing. We cannot recommend Lindsay and her property highly enough. Thank you for such a memorable stay, we will definitely be back!

One of, if not the best Air bnb we have had to date. Everything was perfect and every little detail was thought about. Location was great, interior was lovely and homely and furniture was 5/5 comfort! Lovely hosts, made you feel welcome immediately. Would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Katie and Ruby (the family’s gorgeous 14 year old golden retriever) made us feel very welcome when we arrived and the cream tea that Katie provided was yummy. The accommodation had everything we needed and if it had been warmer we would have enjoyed sitting outside on the private patio, overlooking fields. The local area was peaceful and Tavistock was only a few minutes drive away. We had a lovely time staying here and hope that everyone else does too.

My sister and I decide to go away for a few nights and found this beautiful house in Drewsteignton. Bob and Sue, a very lovely and warm couple, were there to greet us on arrival and showed us around. The place was beautiful and very scenic, just like the pictures! The house the we stayed in had everything you could need! The house was very warm on arrival and through out our stay, which was lovely. We had a lovely walk to Castle Drogo and around the area, due to some car problems we had to walk but it wasn't too long and we are keen walkers. Super comfy beds, we both slept like angels. We brought our 2 doggos with, who also loved their getaway. Very dog friendly as well. The back space, which is private, was perfect for them to pop outside and go for night time wees too. Watching all the little birdies! Would 100% recommend to everyone, especially dog owners and also for families!!

Wonderfully peaceful stay. We came to escape the town life to avoid fireworks on Nee Year because of our dog and young child. Not a single firework heard, which was lovely. We loved the very generous welcome hamper and we are big egg eaters so the fresh dozen eggs were also very much appreciated. Everything is so well coordinated and thought through. We may have to return again soon. Thank you Barbara for being such a great host!

It is a gorgeous barn conversion in the nature, yet very close to all the amenities of Tavistock. Fay is a tremendously helpful host and the house, unlike many places we stayed in Devon, a warm and very well insulated and decorated house

This place is spotless and exactly as described. Clare was lovely and so welcoming. The recommendations are spot on and we really enjoyed our stay. we look forward to visiting again.

We absolutely loved our stay here! Although we experienced some pretty crazy weather, we still had a lovely time exploring the area. Michael had left us a print out with really clear instructions including great recommendations for food. The Airbnb is so cosy, we lit a fire every night and enjoyed being in nature. Highly recommend

A lovely apartments. Very spacious, more than shown in photos. Everything was spotless. Very comprehensive info pack with everything about all appliances, area, beaches etc. the property accepts pets but because of the excellent cleanliness of the property you would not know that previous users had brought their furry friends with them. It is off the beaten track which is part of its charm. A lovely group of converted farm buildings. Would def stay again.
