Monthly Rentals in River Blackwater

A lovely cosy cottage in the heart of Tollesbury. Jessica was a great host, responsive running up to our stay and when we had questions. We really appreciated the personal touches like the welcome basket of seasonal goodies and the pint of milk in the fridge.

This was a great find and a really clean, cosy, comfortable and well equipped place to stay. Thanks to Jan and Dave for thinking of all the little details. For example, the welcome package was a fantastic bonus when we arrived at 11pm without having been to a shop, and all of the instructions on how to use/find everything were really clear. My boys have declared that they want to come and stay here every time we visit the family.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Jill's place. It was warm, comfortable and had everything we needed. Location was great and near the sea front. Jill was a great host.

Had an amazing winter stay! The host was really helpful, and even though we arrived after 9pm, we found a supermarket and a great Indian restaurant just over a 10-minute walk away. There was a huge storm during our visit, but the cottage was so cosy and picturesque that it didn’t bother us at all. The food was fantastic everywhere we ate, and we were surprised to find Uber operates in Mersea and the Colchester area. We even got an Uber all the way from London for under £70 (despite some sat nav issues and our terrible directions—our driver definitely earned his tip!). Only waited 15 minutes for an Uber to Colchester Station on the way home. To top it all off, we spotted a red squirrel through the cottage window. It was a wonderful way to spend my partner’s birthday weekend, and we’d definitely stay there again.
