Earth house vacation rentals in Puntarenas Province

A true Airbnb experience! Ria hosts a couple of rooms in this beautiful house, so we had some fun conversations with her, her daughter, and other guests, making due in multiple languages. It was fun! We saw some scarlet macaws in the trees right outside our room. Breakfast was delicious. Local fruits sold down the road. The area was very peaceful and quiet. Hope to return someday!

This house is truly unique and absolutely beautiful. It is secluded, safe and private with fantastic views up into the trees all around. We heard and saw many beautiful birds including a pair of red macaws who visited everyday. Also humming birds, toucans, vultures, spider monkeys every day, coatis, lesser anteater, poison dart frogs, lizards and heard howler monkeys and got a brief glimpse of one in the distance. They can sound quite scary but they are not threatening at all. A key feature (see photos) is that there are no windows or doors in this place so be prepared for nature to have full access! There is also a nice lookout platform with a wonderful view of the sea- it is also a bit cooler up there in the wood. Carlos is a fantastic host, very inspiring and generous with his time. He will tell you with enormous enthusiasm about nature all around. A lady comes to clean most days and also gave wonderful massages. We all had a truly fantastic stay! Don't miss it- highly recommend

Jeff’s house is a perfect spot for the Costa Rican jungle experience right outside of the main town. The location right next to the beach was great for our group. We spent every night hanging out on the deck. Jeff himself was accommodating and very kind, he sent us some great places to eat in town. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

For us city dwelles from germany, the stay in this little paradise was adventurous and beautiful. Being so close to nature is a wonderful feeling. Thank you for the great accommodation, which leaves nothing to be desired. Pura Vida

we just got back from Madre Selva and I am not sure I can find the words. Unique, peaceful, private and the most beautiful location with unforgettable views of jungle, whale's tail beach, ocean and sunrises. The house has everything you need and more. Carolina and her husband are the nicest and the most welcoming people and their breakfasts and dinners were so delicious. They took a such good care of us, organizing everything and helping us with everything we needed. we felt right at home the moment we arrived. Amazing memories ❤️ thank you so much! Pura Vida 🌴

The soothing sound of the river at night creates the perfect ambiance for relaxation, and the stargazing from the deck is absolutely magical. The house is well-equipped with everything you might need, including excellent internet, making it a great balance of nature and comfort. One of the highlights is the nearby waterfall, just a short walk away. It features a beautiful natural river pool—truly breathtaking and a must-visit! A quick heads-up: a 4x4 vehicle is essential, especially during the rainy season, as the road can get quite slippery. Overall, this place is a hidden gem for anyone seeking peace, adventure, and a touch of luxury in nature. Highly recommend!

We appreciated the craftsmanship of this very unique home and enjoyed getting to know Kris and Marie, learning about how they built the home and getting a personal tour of his woodshop. The breakfast that was included each morning was delicious and filling. We very much enjoyed the healthy, mindful energy of the home and entire experience. They give us several wonderful recommendations for places to eat, shop and experiences in town. All were spot on. Monte Verde is a lovely place to visit and we enjoyed it very much. This home was a perfect place to come back to you, the sunset was gorgeous and the stars at night were amazing. We saw shooting stars! The road up to their home was a bit intimidating at first, but after we did it once it was no problem. We are so glad we chose to stay at this home and got to spend time getting to know Kris and Marie, they are very special people who have created a really unique space.

Irene’s beautiful piece of art was such a pleasurable stay! I was so impressed that Irene built it herself! Such a unique experience. It was very clean, comfortable bed, great air conditioning and wifi. You will need to get tuk tuks or rent an atv / car but the location was great if you want to access not just downtown Guiones. Irene’s communication and helpfulness to help me know things to do and see in the area were exceptional. Cannot recommend this place enough. Thanks for such a wonderful experience!
