Monthly Rentals in Monchique

Lovely location, beautiful woodland surroundings, with orange and lemon trees full of fruit! Ideal base for hiking, close to Monchique for shops and cafes Evenings and mornings were cool so the heater was definitely needed Everything in the kitchen was fine, we made good use of the orange press!

Amazing place to stay in the Algarve. If you’re not familiar with this area it’s a challenge to find a location that puts you in a place where coastal access is possible and the peace and quiet of Monchique is also available. An absolutely beautiful home with tons of character, views and space to spread out. We were here in the winter and used the living room fireplace a lot which was a nice treat. There’s a decent grocery store in Monchique but stocking up in a larger city beforehand is not a bad idea. Would recommend in a heartbeat and really hope we can come back.

Light, bright, spacious townhouse in picturesque Monchique. The house is exactly as it looks in the pictures. Comfortable bed, nice linen, great shower, all the amenities needed plus Jose and Maria left a croissant 🥐 some bread & the most divine almond macaroons. Jose is a kind & generous host who spent some time showing me the mountains and his land. It’s a short walk downhill into the village where there’s cafes and restaurants. Velochique is a nice space for food and drinks on the square. A couple of things to note, the bathroom and bedroom are up 2 flights of stairs (I left my heavy case downstairs & only took the things I needed upstairs). In the winter some places are closed. There is a street lamp outside so if sensitive to light bring an eye-mask. When the sun lights the bedroom and it’s a clear day, the view across to the mountains is lovely. I would recommend Jose’s place.

Lovely apartment, really spacious with great view. Would be lovely in the heat! (Weather wasn’t kind to us though) Thomas and Gudrun were lovely hosts, for example helping us get the fire lit. Really great place
