Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Lake Monona

Quiet and peaceful setting. We didn’t spend a whole lot of time at the house, we did a lot of visiting of friends, family and outings. The time we were there was very relaxing, just what we were hoping for.

Wonderful location for a family gathering. 10 of us stayed here at Thanksgiving and there was plenty of room. The beds were very comfy and our dog enjoyed the large yard. This was our second time renting this house and we would happily stay here again.

We loved Connie’s place. It certainly is a home away from home. Great location. Just a short drive from everything. The house is beautifully appointed and is very clean and well kept. We highly recommend staying at Connie’s place.

I can't express enough how lovely this home is. We stayed with family in the winter, and it was very cozy. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The hosts were very responsive and very accommodating. I loved the location, it was private and close to things, which is hard to find.

My husband and I visited this rental for the first time recently and fell in love. It was close to our family but decent space to relax and was quite! I would 100% recommend this rental and the owner was SO helpful and responsive. Couldn’t recommend a better place in the area!

This is our 5th time staying at the farm. So obviously we feel this place is a must to stay at! We enjoy the peaceful county feel of being at the end of a dead end road. The quiet of the old farm. And the feel of being home away from home! We enjoyed the sunroom on the sunny days as it did help worm that little room up nicely with a small heater and the hot sun! This year our favorite part was listening to the old record on the record player! Being at the farmhouse for us helps us to stop, rest and we choose to take a step back in time unconnected the electronics and spend time together as a family. We read Narnia together, listened and danced to music, did puzzles and laughed as we enjoyed the care free days of our stay. Jeanne and Ralph and Matthew add special touches like snacks tea/coffee and a lovely decorations like the Christmas tree at Christmas time. Along with a clean home and all the regular things one needs that make the stay just wonderful!

Everything with our stay was awesome! Amy has a lovely home - very comfortable, clean, cozy and in a convenient location. It had everything we needed, and then some … the perfect setup for our family over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Amy was very responsive, helpful and kind - the hospitality was appreciated! We will definitely look to stay here again!

Benjamin is a standout host. He was very communicative about everything, professional and welcoming. The apartment is so peaceful and cozy, it was a perfect winter stay to break up the monotony of a cold January. The beds were VERY comfortable! I may have had the best sleep in a long while at this location. Don’t hesitate if you’re looking in this area; Ben will get you situated and informed of the location. 10/10 stay!

Loved this stay! Raj and Cecilia have created a delightful experience in their apartment. It is super roomy, ceilings are nice and high despite it being a basement. Beds were comfortable, ample kitchen, supplied shampoo/cond/soap in shower. it felt very private. Close to the darling Main Street in town with lovely coffee shops. Would definitely stay again.

We had an excellent stay at Kristi's place. It was right in the middle of town walkable to all the stores and restaurants. The layout was exactly as described so there was plenty of room for the 4 of us Kristi's was a very gracious host with excellent communication. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you Kristi's for the local New Glarus brewery beers in the fridge and bakery gift card. That was so appreciated and so unexpected. We loved our stay!

Great stay in a rural area. Communication was great with Robin. Very organized and sufficient amenities. Highly recommend…and love the pig..

Great space and wonderful location. Short walk (less than 5 min) to great coffee and many restaurants. Place was spotless. Owner was communicative in perfect way.

Alex was incredibly flexible with our group’s varied check-ins and check-outs. Other members of my group met him and his partner and expressed that they were both very friendly and welcoming! It is an older building so the floors squeak a bit, but I have no complaints. We enjoyed Madison and this place was perfect for our stay. The sunroom overlooking the lake was unbelievable!

I highly recommend staying here. The location is great with lots of interesting things to do. The apartment was very clean, cozy, had great bedding, great shower pressure, etc.

Randy’s place was a gem! We enjoyed everything about it, especially the short walk to the Sylvee & surrounding restaurants. Would definitely stay there again!

We had a great stay in Lake Mills... the condo was as described and was a great centralized location while were in the area visiting family. Having two rooms helps a lot when traveling with children. The location was clean and tidy, we didn't have any drafts inside despite being quite cold outside, and the contact Neal was friendly and accommodating.

Jonathan was a very gracious host and interesting and fun to speak with. He made my stay comfortable and relaxed. I enjoyed meeting him. The room was as described and entering and exiting the home was easy, even when I came home late. I’d stay here again.

We spent two extremely enjoyable weeks here. We were pleasantly surprised on the day we arrived. There were thoughtful arrangements, sufficient supplies, as well as welcome fruits and snacks, which made us feel at home instantly despite being in a foreign land. The location is also very convenient. The nearest supermarket, Festival, is a 10 - minute walk away. When we walked to the State Capitol, we stopped by the public library and got three bus cards, which we bound together, recharged, and shared the balance. After that, it was very convenient for us to travel anywhere by bus or uber. Bus transfers were free within two hours. We even took the bus from Epic back three times! We experienced the elegance and warmth of this city during this winter. Thank you! We hope to have the opportunity to come back here next time.

We had an amazing stay! The house was absolutely perfect—spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The kitchen was incredibly well-stocked, making it easy to cook and enjoy meals together. The game room was a highlight and provided hours of fun for everyone. The location was convenient and made our trip to Madison even better. We’ll definitely be staying here again on our next visit. Highly recommend!

Clean, plenty of space for three grown men. Lower level a little chilly but fireplace warmed it up. Beds cozy. Cookware and dishes and cups on the weaker side. Couches cozy. Great spot
