Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Kyoto

We really enjoyed our stay at Kiyomi’s place. It’s located very close to Kyoto Station, convenience stores, bus stops and also Aeon mall. The house was pristine clean and felt so homey. We will definitely recommend Kiyomi’s place to our friends!

We stayed at Shino’s place for 6 nights ， Excellent place and wonderful host! Central to everything around. Walking distance to the train station, in a quite neighborhood. The most comfortable tatami I have slept on!!!:) Shino and あおい is very responsive to our questions and showed great hospitality! Will definitely choose this place if I go to Kyoto travel again !

We stayed three weeks in Hiroe's house and it was wonderful. Hiroe is a fantastic host. I have been visiting Kyoto for forty years, staying in various places but this was the best. I hope to be able to return in the future and I highly recommend Hiroe's house, a very quiet place not far from public transport and the supermarket. Thanks Hiroe!

Very convenient to JR line, Inari Shrine (10,000 gates), another subway line, a cute market and shops, and of course 7-11. We loved it. It was perfect.

Great spot- stayed here with family of 7. Hosts were very accommodating, home was very comfortable and we felt right at home to the point we often opted to stay in rather than going out which says a lot! All necessary amenities, we got to make some home cooked meals, enjoy netflix on the huge flat screen while on the couch and even play chess (provided). Some of us were iffy on the stay given the beds were on the floor but after the first night we all knew we made the right decision as it was one of the best sleeps / stays we’d had on our travels. Home was a perfect blend of a traditional japanese home and comfy retreat away from home. Hosts were always responsive and super friendly, would recommend a million times over. 10/10

Kimi and Marilyn were very friendly, helpful and responsive hosts. Their place was just as advertised. They kept it really clean and the house was very complete. It was in a great location as it is easily accessible by bus, train and only a 20 minutes walk to Kiyomizudera. There were also plenty of restaurants close by. Kimi and Marilyn were really nice to come and meet us on our last day to check in with us. We are a big group of 9 and are very happy to recommend this place to future travellers.

I drove here from karuizawa, he allowed us to check in late,very comfortable with my two kids, we also can cook happily,because as muslim it’s hard to find halal food in japan.. can wash cloth.. and very near with dotonburi and others attractions..

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. Yoshihiro was excellent with communication and very helpful. We received a lovely welcome note and basket of treats. The apartment is spacious with two tables to sit at and a kotatsu which my adult children loved. The kitchen has everything you need although we ate out as there are many restaurants to choose from. There is a nice Nepalese / Indian restaurant close by. There are stairs up to the property and inside, which everywhere in Japan tend to be steeper than the UK. The apartment was clean and tidy and had different towels available, the bedding, (December) was very cosy. The area around is modern with excellent pavements and there are several rail stations close by, JR Shin-Osaka is around a 15 minute walk and we used another closer station about 5 minutes away. We would definitely stay here again if we came to the Osaka area.

We had a lovely stay at this apartment. It was spacious yet cosy, got plenty of light, had a nice street view, was tastefully furnished and fully equiped (we didn’t cool but the kitchen appeared to be well equipped), and spotlessly clean. It was also very convenient to shops, restaurants and public transport, and was a refreshing break from hotel stays. May was very helpful and welcoming (she was even waiting for us on the street when we arrived!).

Nice traditional Japanese apartment with kitchen and bath in a quiet residential neighborhood. Quite close to Kyoto University (walking/biking distance). I had a comfortable stay for a week. The hosts Asami and Daniel are outstanding! They went out of their way to help me with everything. Will definitely consider staying here again.

great place for the price and had everything I need to washer machine bath, bidet and a small kitchen with microwave toaster oven. but the only thing was that's the electric boiler wasn't working

Great place! In a quiet residential neighborhood.

Ken was awesome. Amazing communication and awesome location within 5 minutes from major train lines and 10-15 minutes walk from a bulk of the touristy things and restaurants you'll have on your list. The shower was different but functional. No complaints. We really only used the apartment to sleep - didn't spend much time there. It was too cold to use the patio but it was a decent size and had a nice view of the river. Ken gave some great suggestions and was extremely responsive.

Great location, spacious living and bedroom, close to bus stops and supermarket. If you like walking, it’s only 20mins stroll to the busiest streets in Kyoto where you can find restaurants and do shopping. The host is very responsive and communicated with great courtesy, highly recommended.

****Highly recommend***** Fabulous location * Super Clean, Comfortable in a Quiet neighborhood tucked a few blocks away from endless shopping and trains near Umeda Osaka Station ***** My husband and I began our vacation in Japan at Iku’s place and thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay here. The place is located in a quiet neighborhood of boutique shops and tasty restaurants all within a short walking distance from all Umeda Osaka has to offer! Iku is a fabulous host who goes above and beyond to assist her guests. She is quick to respond and provided us with an array of recommendations of places to eat and shop. The home had everything we needed for our stay! When we return to Osaka I would stay here again!

So close to station and Fushimi Inari.

Overall my stay at this airbnb was great, not too far from the bus stop, about 5-8 mins of walking. Most importantly a 7/11 at the corner of the block. Also a 8-10 minute walk to the store strip such as disney, apple, uniqlo, nike ect. The host did provide towels and wifi which is great. You have access to an elevator so no need to carry your luggage up the stairs.

Great value. Awesome spot—within walking distance to the Gion district. Convenience stores, supermarket and great Indian restaurant also within walking distance. Easy check in and friendly host. We would love to visit again someday.

We stayed with 7 people.It was spacious and relaxing like a home, and my elderly parents were satisfied.There was no trouble with the large dining room with all the dishes in the kitchen.It was also close to Kawaramachi, and we were able to drive, but it was a convenient place to park!

Great location. Lots of space. Good communication, very responsive. Bath was nice, and view out of the windows was a nice feature. Sometimes we could hear the noise late at night from the bar across the hall, but it wasn’t too bad. Definitely recommend.

We truly had an incredible time in Kyoto, and it brought us so much joy knowing we had a lovely place to return to after exploring the city. That was Seth’s place. Seth was wonderfully helpful and always quick to respond, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The accommodations were simply superb, offering an authentic Ryokan experience that we cherished. The location couldn't be better—just a short and pleasant walk to Sannenzaka, Ninnenzaka, and Kiyomizu-dera. We wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Kyoto!

this place was a great location - 4 min walk to the nearest local station & 2 stops from kyoto station. cool to stay in this house and we loved how many rooms there were. would definitely stay again!

Our host was very kind and helpful. He spent time with us to get our baggage shipped to our next location which was a great help. The place was very clean and they replenished our towels each day which is very nice with a large group. He wanted us to be comfortable.
