Japanese Rooms w/breakfast (Kyoto & Osaka)
Akiko’s hosting was exactly what I was looking for when traveling to Japan - an opportunity to experience the Japanese culture in the most natural way. The family is so friendly, and the location is great (a suburb which allows you to visit both Kyoto and Osaka, but also a great place by itself to relax in a local restaurant/ bar); I only wish that I knew in advance that the calligraphy / kimono ceremony is not included in the price… and yet, it does not diminish the 5-star review that she deserves. Simply said - I enjoyed a lot and I highly recommend the place and the people 😊

Japanese disinfected room with bath & toilet.
I had a wonderful experience staying in a traditional Japanese house. Yoko-san is an amazing host—she was so kind and gave us great travel tips. We had fascinating conversations about Japanese culture and many other topics, which made our stay even more special. The breakfasts were absolutely fantastic, and Yoko-san made us feel at home, which is something I truly appreciated during a long trip. The house itself was also incredible, filled with antique figurines and dolls. I especially loved the warm kotatsu table, the comfortable futon, and the beautifully crafted tatami. I was particularly impressed by the layout of the floor we stayed on: the central bedroom was surrounded by a balcony, a tea room, a toilet, and a bathroom. Everything was convenient and well thought out. A huge thank you to Yoko-san for making this stay such a magical experience. We will definitely come back! Best regards from Anna and Daniel.

Rokko Corres (corres.jp)
The owner is very kind. We came after the event, and you were very accommodating even though the check-in time had changed considerably. This time, I came after the bathing facility, but if you want to use the bath, you can leave the hot water in the bathtub by contacting us in advance. The facility itself is a little old, but it was beautifully renovated, and there was no Japanese-style room or uncomfortable at all. The heater was turned on, so I didn't mind the cold, and the futon was prepared with two futons for the cold. We were very satisfied with the homey breakfast. This time, I visited late at night and left early in the morning, so I just stayed to sleep, but I wanted to stay a little more slowly if I had the opportunity. Thank you so much!

room B station 1 min & Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine Tofukuji Hiking area Newly built house
Thank you to the host for the hospitality, dedication, enthusiasm for my 2 daughters when they stayed here. They were extremely happy and pleased to have been received, taken care of by the host. This house is very new, clean and very convenient to visit in Kyoto. If there is a chance we will stop by again. Don't know what to say more than thank the host very much and highly recommend everyone should stay here.

Netflix wifi gym breakfast free trip
Larry's place was beyond my expectation! It was beautiful and quiet, and felt traditional but also like home rather than hotel rooms or those Airbnbs that feel like they are just for Airbnb. The room downstairs is huge, and the whole house is very clean and nice. Larry is extremely nice as well! He picked my up from the closest metro station exit, and showed me everything I needed to know. He also gave me local sightseeing recommendations with his hand drawn maps. There's a dog and a little cute cat that he recently rescued, and they didn't bother me at all. Kyoto is not a big city so his location is not too remote. There's a uphill road towards the house though, and the main streets are also going uphill if you are coming from west to the east. So be prepared for some exercise, whether or not you choose to ride a bike or just walking. Larry also provided a bike, which was a good bike, beautiful with a convenient lock, automatic lights, and shifting gears.

Yuan Kinkaku-ji, Ryoan-ji, Ninna-ji (World Cultural Heritage)
I stayed here for 5 nights in winter as a base to work remotely for a couple of days before exploring Kyoto. It was exactly what I was looking for: a quiet hideaway not far from the main city area, with good wifi, and a host that I can practice Japanese with. The house is on top of a hill with splendid views. I can imagine how lovely it’ll look when it snows, when the Sakura blooms or during autumn. I was kept warm and comfortable with the kotatsu, electric blanket, access to a kitchenette and hot water shower/bath. I met a couple of interesting house mates too. Keiko-san is the loveliest host and prepares a delicious breakfast for you daily. She also makes sure to drive me to and back from the train station (only a 15min straight train to Kyoto station). I will miss our little chats on the car rides. This space is perfect for anyone looking to escape the crowds of the city, take it slow, and experience local living. This is a different Kyoto and one that I really like.

Feel Real Japan. brand-new, modern
Easily the best AirBnB experience we’ve had. Yoko’s place is a perfect place to stay in Kyoto, but it’s much more than just a place to rest your head. Yoko is helpful beyond words and goes out of her way to assist and make you feel at home. I can’t praise her or her house enough.

A Free Breakfast, Free Parking, Free Pickup (from Kyoto Yamashina Station) Private bathroom toilet
Our three girls stayed with lily for a total of three nights and were very happy every day.On the first day, contact lily's sister in advance, she responded very quickly to my news and picked us up at the agreed time. lily's house is located in a quiet and beautiful mountain, the interior is clean, but it is very close to shanke city, it takes less than ten minutes by car, it is very convenient.Arriving at the accommodation, she turned on the air conditioner for us early, put our bags and gave us some notes, and immediately gave us three of our free time. The next few days, she prepared a fine breakfast for us for free every morning and dropped us off at 8:30 for a ride to Sanke Station, recommend some beautiful attractions. On the last day, lily offered to make dinner for us (super abundant) Also said because the dinner was busy, so I apologize for not being able to pick us up at the station and reimburse us for the toll to return to the accommodation from Yamaco Station (sis lily is so cute, but we finally chose to walk back to the accommodation because we wanted to see the scenery of the Japanese countryside).Anyway, as long as you respect the lily sister, lily will give you the highest courtesy, she is warm and friendly, humorous, very talkative, love life, it is my rare encounter during my day trip🌹🥺

Thank you tommy!

I'm a super light sleeper and there was no street noise at all. Very quiet. Great Japanese hot breakfast (fish, egg, rice, vegetables). I would stay there again.

Kizuna: Relaxing Stay in 150 yr old Farmhouse
It was my first time traveling abroad for a month with my dog, and the process before leaving wasn't smooth, so I was worried a lot about whether my dog and I could get around well. Even so, Yukie & Kevin took care of a lot of things, so I really enjoyed the whole trip.😊 I am so grateful that I have so many memories that I would not have had if I had booked the accommodation as a general mansion or hotel! Thank you so much for picking me up by car throughout the trip to the airport and the station and bringing me a delicious meal every day. Everyone in the village was kind and kind, so I enjoyed the countryside of Japan with my dog. It was better because I preferred a quiet and relaxing trip with nature rather than crowded and bustling sightseeing.☺️ We are also looking forward to a new kids' house, so be sure to invite us when the house is repaired.💓 Both of you take good care of your health. We wish you all the best until the day we meet again.🙇♀️🙇♀️ Cosmo-chan and Hina-chan are also healthy and well!!

An authentic Japanese house (Home-stay)Room#WABI

TANGO ALOHA TERRACE B&B SEA FRONT
Lovely hosts and lovely place! 一正-san was extremely helpful and responsive, he gave really good recommendations which made our short stay so much easier. Love the sea view and we had everything we needed. Thank you!

Tsukiya-Mikazuki-old western style double room
I planned a trip to Kyoto with a classic B&B vibe in mind and while there was no opportunity to eat all together, Tsukiya was perfect! Location was exactly where we wanted to be in the city, with easy access to public transit and even walkable areas. The breakfasts every morning were thoughtfully crafted starting about 2 hours beforehand. The space was authentic - highly recommend to anyone going to Kyoto!

Scenic Mountain Home
Staying at John’s place in Shiga was an unforgettable experience! John is an incredibly passionate and energetic host, always full of enthusiasm. He and his lovely wife, Rika, made me feel right at home. They even invited me to join their family for a delicious homemade dinner, and Rika kindly provided breakfast as well. Their son, Andre, was also very friendly, and I truly enjoyed our conversations. The house itself is a charming countryside cottage surrounded by beautiful nature, making it a perfect getaway. If you’re visiting Shiga, staying with John is an absolute must! Highly recommended!
