The Annexe at Walnut Tree Cottage

HelenRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The fact that we returned 3 months after our last visit, says it all. The Annexe is the break you need to totally switch off. It has everything you need, peace, quiet, no light pollution, countryside, sheep, walks, fruit farm, Mel's amazing bakes, even dogs are fully catered for ... it's just brain break bliss. Our only complaint is that we never stay long enough! Needed just one more night ... next time. Leominster is a short drive or a good walk away, great for antiques mooching. Ludlow a little further on, again great for mooching and a lovely vibe. Mel & Guy (& Bertie) are great hosts, so lovely and friendly, they really make you feel at home and have thought of everything. We love this place.
The Wain House features a stone exterior with large glass doors, inviting natural light indoors. A gravel pathway leads to the entrance, bordered by greenery and flowering bushes, creating a welcoming facade that blends with the surrounding rural landscape.

4 Star Cosy Barn Conversion at Trippenkennet

If it’s peace and quiet you are looking for this is the place to stay. The barn was comfortable clean and had everything that was needed. The log burner was an extra bonus. Great communication with Gwyneth and all was easy. Would definitely recommend.

bed. 2 double room with adjacent private bathroom

StevenRating, 5 stars7 months ago
I found Pauline's airbnb by chance. The hotels in the area (very rural) were all booked-up, and I had little to go - just knew that it was in the right area and had a bed (the only image I saw prior to arrival) - which made first impressions even more special! It is a stunning property, brimming with countryside style and comfort; and Pauline herself an engaging, friendly and accommodating host. It felt like a real gem of a find but at a very reasonable price - thoroughly recommended.

Mobile Home-ideal children,walking & Malvern Hills

LornaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Another return trip to Felicity's mobile home - and everything was as wonderful as it always is :) Weather still a bit chilly overnight whilst we were here this time, so made use of the blankets and the lovely fire in the lounge. Great that Felicity has put a waste bin in the caravan after we mentioned it last time - I just hope that everybody looks after it, and doesn't leave a horrible mess for Felicity to clean up, which is why she had to remove it last time. This a real home from home for us and we're looking forward to another visit at the new site.

Quirky Chapel

SteveRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The Chapel is quite simply stunning! Set in gorgeous surroundings this quirky home offers the perfect countryside break. Sunrise and sunset over the lake provide lifetime memories. The accommodation provides plenty of space for two, is clean and well equipped. The stairs are steep and, in places, the ceilings low but aren’t a problem if you’re careful. It’s hard for us to explain just how good this property and its surroundings are as this break was about much more than just a holiday but honestly it was something special.

"Ynys" cottage

PetraRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We had a lovely stay at Ynys. Very tastefully renovated old dairy, with lovely views of the pastureland. Loved watching the farm animals from living room, while sipping cup of tea, great way to slow down, no WiFi was a bonus for us and our teenagers 😊 Taken in Crickhowel with Table Mountain, Abergavenny with Sugar loaf, the wonderful Llanthony Priory and the scenic route via Llanthony to Hay on Wye. Great access to Black mountains. The farm has lots of charm, with old buildings and farm animals, Jonathan was very responsive to any questions.

Sheepcote Bothy with Black Mountain Views

AbbieRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We stayed here for two nights over new year's and had a peaceful, relaxing time. Popped into Hay on Wye and enjoyed the local pubs & cafes, and went for a lovely walk in the surroundings. The accommodation was clean, tidy and just the perfect size for two of us and a very big dog. We could check in at any time with a key box which was great for us non-planners, parking was easy, and the accommodation was distant enough from the main house that it felt very private and quiet. Having a large young dog we always try to ensure we have a private garden and pee/exercise space and Sophie allowed us to use the enclosed field which made life so much easier. We were also very grateful for a later checkout as no-one was in the following day. Super happy & would absolutely stay again. thank you x

Bridge End Cottage - with Parking

EmilyRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Great little spot by the river. We were comfotable there for two nights and had a great walk at Sugar Loaf Mountain. We liked the pub next door and the excellent Restaurant across the river with top notch al La Carte menu. As this building must have once been a Toll House for the bridge it is on the road so take ear-plugs if you sleep light. We had no issue with it at all after lots of fresh air and a good dinner! Karen was kind to leave us some welcome treats and we found everything as described for a family get-together. Thankyou.

SamRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We were looking for a few days peace and quiet and, my oh my, did this place deliver! It was so wonderfully idyllic. We were able to sit out and watch the stars at night, cook meals in the well-appointed kitchen, sit and read and play games round the table, get cosy in the chairs. It was just what we were looking for - can't wait to come back some time!

Brilliant location. Stunning countryside views. A great base to explore the local area.
