The Yellow Door | Mid-Century Lake Haven | Wayzata

EmmaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
My family and I had a wonderful stay at this totally unique, mid-century home. The furnishings and finishes in the entire home are on point. It was fun to give the kids a little history lesson on what type of architecture and style this place is crafted in -- they had never seen anything like it. The views from the home are really special - lake views out all the windows, two outdoor spaces to enjoy (weather dependent). It was a great space for our multi-generational family. There are spots with stairs and while this wasn't an issue for us, there is a main floor with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath and the kitchen in case going up or down is an issue. Communication with the host/manager was responsive and check-in/out were easy. If you're looking for a stay that you'll remember for many years to come, don't hesitate to book this home!
A striking lake house features multiple levels and large windows, reflecting the warm glow of a sunset. Outdoor seating areas, including two pink lounge chairs, are positioned near the water, creating an inviting space for relaxation and enjoyment.

Newly renovated, with nice decor. Location worked great for our needs, and having a park so close was great for the child traveling with us. Superb bakery just a few blocks away.

Flatpak House/Dwell Magazine Cover home

ElizabethRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Wonderful stay with our multi-generational family. There was plenty of space for everyone to have time on their own if needed and also to come together. The house was incredibly well appointed: our 6 year old was in heaven with the toys provided (including magna-tiles, legos, k-nex, kids books), foosball table, and the 'secret' passage between the bunk bed rooms) We loved the kitchen with a great layout for cooking. As you can tell from the pictures/description, it is a unique house. Guests staying there should be aware that, for example, staying in the further away bedroom means walking a few steps outside (along a covered walkway) in order to get back into the main area of the house. There is no door between the primary bathroom and bedroom and the wall ends a little bit before the ceiling in the bunkbed rooms (great for poking your head over from the top bunks, but also less private). We felt that these features add to the charm of the house and led to a more memorable stay.
