Peace and quiet

Guests say this home is in a quiet area.
Built in 1941 from historic “clinker bricks,” this restored cottage is a dreamy place to slow down and reconnect. Surrounded by enchanted gardens and close to the beach, Hobbs & Rose is filled with charm—gorgeous living spaces, a carved marble soaking tub, and thoughtful details throughout. Enjoy a romantic getaway and unwind in our Sanctuary meditation room, where birdsong and forest friends welcome you. You relax—we’ve created every detail to help you feel restored.

The space
If you’re looking for the perfect getaway, Hobbs & Rose Cottage is a place to slow down, reconnect, and feel truly cared for. This cozy 1,200 sq. ft. retreat is thoughtfully designed with high-end finishes, comforting touches, and memorable spaces both indoors and out.

Sleep deeply + wake refreshed.
Luxury bedding and linens await, creating the kind of rest that feels effortless. Enjoy fresh air and peaceful woodland night sounds as you settle in. The downstairs bedroom features elegant, high-end furnishings and a stunning floor-to-ceiling mirror. Upstairs, the master loft bedroom offers a king-sized bed dressed in linens fit for the finest, plus a leather chaise lounge perfect for reading, relaxing, or an afternoon nap.

Cook, gather, and savor the moment.
The kitchen includes modern amenities for your culinary delights, with premium cookware, hand-thrown pottery, and charming ironstone dishes. You’ll love the curly tiger maple countertops, custom farmhouse sink, pot filler, and instant hot water dispenser—details that make even simple meals feel special.

Soak, unwind, and reset.
The bathroom is truly the jewel of the cottage. A stunning carved marble soaking tub invites you to slow down and melt the day away. Handmade bath salts and thick cotton robes add the finishing touch. If you’re on the go, the gentle rain shower offers a refreshing, spa-like experience. A beautiful oversized carved mirror completes the space with timeless character.

Find stillness in The Sanctuary.
One of our most loved spaces is our three-sided glass room we call The Sanctuary. Filled with orchids, succulents, and lush greenery, it’s a peaceful place to sip coffee, read a book, journal, or even work from home while surrounded by nature and birdsong.

Step outside into your own private escape.
Enjoy the hammock, two landscaped ponds, and a wood-burning firepit for cozy evenings under the stars. Lighting in the 100-year-old oak trees turns the backyard into a nighttime wonderland.

And don’t forget to visit our hens — they lay eggs daily in the most beautiful colors, and you just might find fresh eggs waiting for you upon arrival.

Guest access
Guests will have full access to Hobbs & Rose Cottage and the outdoor spaces surrounding it. Enjoy multiple patio seating and dining areas throughout the property—perfect for morning coffee, reading, or relaxing under the trees. Parking is provided in the paved driveway directly in front of the cottage for easy arrival and unloading.

Other things to note
Hobbs & Rose Cottage is designed as a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. The master bedroom is located in a loft upstairs, and there are outdoor gardens and pathways to enjoy throughout the property. Since we’re tucked into a natural setting, you may encounter bugs, birds, toads, ducks, and other forest animals during your stay. Our ducks are free-range during the day and are part of what makes this space so special. Please note the yard is not fenced in.

We live in the main house on this 3-acre parcel, but due to our full-time jobs you will rarely see us. We are always readily available if you need anything.

We love welcoming dogs! We kindly ask guests to pick up after their pets using their own disposable bags. The recycle bin is located at the end of the driveway for your convenience.

Hi! We’re Larry and Lisa. We’re passionate about creating a cozy retreat where guests feel cared for and completely at ease. We hope your stay brings rest, connection, and a little bit of joy — and that you leave feeling truly renewed. When we’re not hosting, Larry is usually playing guitar (or filming his ducks), and Lisa is thrift shopping for fun finds or digging in her gardens.
